Wow alright!

1.7m seems like a bit much though. You can get two real Daytona's for that. :)

Actually Testas of this year sell for way less...I've seen them for $40k USD. Think the car is WAY overpriced, even if it can be documented/authenticated.

its a 1986 1 mirror car but some of the details are not lining up, the carpet seems to be two different colors, when it should be unicolored, as both cars came from ferrari at the same time, in the original black metalic, and should be spec'd the same way

gallery_471_5_119073.jpg

gallery_471_5_95142.jpg

and the dash was not straight black, it was this dark chocolate brownish metalic kind of material that looks black at night but looks more chocolatey in the daytime, like on this one, 2:15

gallery_471_5_32599.jpg

gallery_471_5_22472.jpg

not unlike on my model really

gallery_471_5_1915.jpg

or the kyosho one

T2CVnhXotXXXXXXXXX_!!43861447.jpg

also I have both of those.

vs straight black at 3:44

which is hard to see and notice unless you know what to look for.

so 1986/1987 ferrari testarossa, american spec with michelin tires, cream interior, rust colored carpets, like on the daytona's dash, dark brown dash, originally ordered in black metalic, of which the paint name is apparently Nero Daytona of all things.

what this one Is I believe is a promo car for universal studios, a lookalike car used for the miami vice ride,

they did the same thing with magnum PI's car and the fast and the furious movie cars, although in that case supposedly they are the genuine articles with the F and F movies

as chances are with vice and magnum, the cars were on set and still in use at that time.

Still cool and unique in its own right, but not one of the shooting cars, and it'd still be worth a premium just for that fact alone as a promo car

not unlike that promo bridge of the enterprise D that came out a few months or a year ago, as they both came from the same era.

and I would think the average price is about 60 grand for a good one, 40K, that makes me think someone blew the engine up.

and prices have risen on all cars it seems, as apparently the 190 SL from the 1950's went from 20 grand to 100 Grand in the past 15 years, for all I know though it was one of the 1990/1991 models with the auto seatbelts before the 512 TR came online.

which would fit, although that's even very low.

60 to 80 is what I'd think, also theres the brown dash again, apparently called tobbaco highlights?

and he aint kidding about that countach thing, the countach does look like a death sentence compaired to the TR

Yes, exactly. I was thinking maybe 100-150k for this one.

You cannot put a price on a piece of history though.

Think that is yet to be determined. I could not make out anything in the Ebay listing that definitively linked the car to the Show in terms of a contract or Bill of Sale tying in the VIN number.

Again, are you the seller?

Nope this one has the original black paint in the ppwk. and has the original black paint on the body panel this is the REAL DEAL.

Paint is not provenance proving anything, Other Testas were painted black in that year.

See my question about VIN numbers and contracts/Bills of Sale.

No i am not the seller. I know him personally. and wanted to get the word out that his car is for sale and have been reading this forum for years but never signed up until now. BUT if you have questions related to the car and history etc I can easily ask him to reply or get info on the car if you guys want.

I believe if you look at the docs in the ppwk he is providing in the listing it shows the VIN which ties back to the hero car documented in the show.

The pics were small and hard to see so I could have overlooked something., but if all that is there are receipts for repairs, then that doesn't tie the car to the Show.

Were there any contracts proving the car was transferred to Universal Studios from Ferrari? If such docs were there then we'd like to see them.

You have a very good eye for details and I think you are right.

That's what I'm thinking as well, after seeing the Universal Studios threshold plate.

I will ask him to provide more detailed pics and show all of the docs provided that they tie to the show and the car driven by crockett. I got to see this thing in person it is amazing and still has the brick cell phone holster in the console area. How funny is that!

The Seller of the car referenced in this thread is none other than this same guy hawking the same car almost 2 years ago on Ferrarichat and in this forum, who called himself REALMUSCLE (see the below thread). His site is http://realmusclecar.com/index.php, and his name is Peter Lima. You can see the name referenced in the photobucket account he set up for his current Ebay Listing in the first post in this thread.

lear60man in here and from Ferrarichat is also familiar with him as they had a number of interesting exchanges in Ferrarichat.

The car appears to be the same one he was selling in the below thread and on Ferrarichat when he was trying to drum up provenance at that time. Can search for his REALMUSCLE name to read his posts on Ferrarichat.

Thanks for that info Sonny-Burnett that is the same guy from year ago. And again I know him personally and have verified the car and all of the documentation. I believe he was not "hawking" the car or as you say "was trying to drum up provenance" anyways at the time and has never listed it on ebay until now. I believe last year he was only inquiring in ferrari chat to gather some info on the car itself and the forum got a little bit turned up between discussions but that waqs last year and this is now. And yes if you use the google button as you so efficiently have you guys can verify all of the listed info that you referenced above yes that is his info and he is not hiding or anything like that, he would actually love to discuss the car over the phone or email for anyone interested he is a nice guy. But none the less he has all of the documents and verfied ppwk to go with the car itself for its authentication so lets not get into the back and forth I just thought it would be a great post to show you guys...

Have a look at his past posts in Ferrarichat and you may have a different perspective...and we like to know who we're dealing with, especially if he has a history in here.

Great as to going forward. We'd love to see a Contract between Ferrari and Universal showing (the VIN of ) this car sold/gifted to NBC Universal and related documents such as Titles proving such an exchange between Ferrari and Universal. We also noted the floor plate and that could indicate the car was used in the Stunt Show, but not necessarily in the TV Series.

I reviewed the Ebay photobucket account and saw maintenance records, hand written notes, and such but nothing as yet connecting the car to the Vice Show, or proving that NBC Universal ever took title to the car.

Perhaps you can ask him to post them here or in the Ebay listing? You have to realize that we in here  (and on Ferrarichat)  have seen MANY claims of cars used in the Miami Vice series, and none of them have ever proven to be true. (See the other thread in here about the Car Chasers Daytona).

So we are naturally very skeptical when another comes along, though I would love to actually find/see the remaining show car(s).

OK if you browse through the documents shown in the pic gallery you will see proof of ownership and VIN and title transfer from Universal on several different images. its right there in the listing.

hmm I just went through every page of the Photobucket link and only saw invoices from Shelton Ferrari, but nothing from Ferrari North America representing a Sale of the car to NBC Universal. What I saw were numerous invoices for repairs, handwritten notes and emails. But no Contracts or Bills of Sale, or Title docs.

Why would shelton in ft. lauderdale be servicing a universal studios prop car in orlando? seriously? the title is shown in the one main spread pic and will have to examin that one...

Repair work orders, with hand written names, addresses, and dates created via carbon and subsequent photo copies can be doctored...I've personally seen it done.

Not saying that is the case here as I have not seen the original docs, but it is possible.

Where is the original Contract between Ferrari North America and Universal reflecting the Sale/transfer of title? Seems a rather important document that would accompany a car of this importance in transfers to subsequent Buyers.

And the accompanying Titles for these transfers are also apparently missing. If you see a Title in these Photos, perhaps you can enlarge it or highlight it as I didn't see it.

also I believe the contracts and the paperwork for the vice car in florida at the swap shop are on full display, the title, contract vin and all that.
