Christian Posted February 21, 2015 Report Share Posted February 21, 2015 (edited) It has been very cold this winter and Thursday our temps of -8F broke a record from 1938. Think we've had a number of sub-zero temps so far, with more tonight and Sunday. Thankfully I have heated seats in the car. And you have to add wind chill to those temps so the real feel was even colder. We get the extremes in Chicago....90s in the Summer and sub zero in the Winters.We once had a 4 or 6 week period of Summer temps hotter than Miami.That is the advance compared to us in the middle of Europe...most northern US states have cooler winters but you get REAL summers with long and hot periods over 90F and that is quite rare over here... Unfortunately I visited Cuba and Havana only one time so far. But I liked Havana and especially Havana's old town very much.You can visit Ernest Hemmingway's favourite bar "La Bodeguita del medio" and have a mojito, sit on the stairs in front of Hanava's Capitolio and take a look at all the amreican road cruisers from the 50s and 60s or just take a seat in one of many cafés and enjoy a Cohiba, Montecristo or Romeo y Julieta (my favourite cuban cigars).
