What would Miami Vice had been like if it had carried on into the 90's?

Yeah it would have lost the flashy over the top elements & become CSI MIAMI or something. The show worked best when the two main characters were portrayed as young & hip. Think "Cool Runnin" or "Smuggler's Blues" or "Calderon's Return". By season 4, Crockett is saying "I'm too old for this crap". They were becoming grouchy, jaded cops. Not very cool or entertaining.

It's so true, The last two seasons are such a chore to get through and it's precisely because whenever Crockett has to chase someone down he's like "Ugh..do I really have to do this?"..If the main character's not having a good time then how are we supposed to?
