For those of us who grew up, and loved the STAR WARS films, this is the thread for you. Any news, pictures, thoughts, comments can be posted here. Those who have visited my member profile page, you may have noticed that one of my other interests is STAR WARS. I'm a big fan of the original movies, and collect cast and crew items from those films. Enjoy! May The Force Be With You! I tell ya, I'm so hyped up for Star Wars 7, the film is just going to be so amazing...I can feel it, it's going to be such a hit. This is the true sequel we have wanted for years. Earlier on Facebook I saw a user comment on a post saying that ''Bringing back the old actors is cheesy and overkill.'' I disagree! those 3 people, are what made Star Wars what it is, we all love Mark, Carrie and Harrison...I'm so happy Harrison is back as Han Solo, I nearly jumped out of my seat in excitement...this is the true STAR WARS as we know it. 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

He's already done 6 of them, but publicly announced several times he wanted to do another one. They did hire him. He's older now (83), and this will be the first STAR WARS film that won't feature music from the LONDON SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA. They will be top of the line Los Angeles freelance orchestra musicians (Williams has already worked with them on many film scores now). http://www.starwars.com/news/john-williams-to-record-star-wars-the-force-awakens-score-in-los-angeles He's also writing the music in sections over a years time, unlike the 6 weeks he'd write for previous scores. They show him a specific section of the film, and he spots it, and writes it. They he takes a break. Then, weeks later, they give him another section, and he scores that, and so on and so forth. He isn't writing all at once like in the past, but gets breaks in between this time. Good idea! He'll be fresh every time! Also, it's great to have Williams score it, so he can create new themes for the new characters, so if somehow, he can't score future films,(dies or is sick) at least whomever would take up the scoring duties, they can use the themes for new chracters that JOHN WILLIAMS wrote for this film to continue the new trillogy. WILLIAMS IS THE VOICE OF STAR WARS! Having the main characters return is a great idea. Lucas' original ideas for a script outline was dropped by Disney, as it would involve teenagers, and Disney thought it might feel like Jake Loyd and the Phantom Menace again, so they wisely dropped Lucas's script (for which he is not too thrilled, but IS looking forward to seeing the movie as a first time viewer for the first time in his life!). J.J., and Kasdan re wrote the script, and decided it would be a better transition for the new characters if they had LUKE, HAN, LEIA, CHEWIE, R2 & 3PO back as supporting cast. I think It's a brilliant Idea, as they are supposed to play their ages. Luke IS supposed to be in his 50's, and Han IS supposed to be in his early 70's. They are playing their actual ages as it's 30 years after Return of the Jedi. J.J. said he wanted the heros to have one last adventure. I agree!!! No guesswork on how to make it, it's exactly as Harrison Ford wore it, as it's a perfect copy off a screen used original using a 3d printer. Even the props in the little leather pockets are 3D printed off the original props. He gave them a false name when arrested. I saw an interview with him on youtube, and he is just the most unfriendly, sarcastic punk that has led a life of wealth. He blames hating hollywood on being bullied about his roll in the Phantom Menace when he was in school, but to me, HE turned into the Phantom Menace.
