How long was Calderone gone for during the time of the Pilot and Calderone's Return P2?

He is all young looking in the pilot, and suddenly in Calderone's Return he has grey hair...How long was he gone? weeks? months?

Something that I just wondered about.

A solid question, forever, that sprayed on grey. It added an element of aged wisdom, also father factor to meet the needs of the daughter plot. I like it all around, but the timeline will never have an answer my friend

Phanie Napoli was around 19-23 years old when she played Angelina, but she looked more like 30.  Miguel Pinero was 38 at the time, and she looked only a few years younger than him.  So it makes sense that they would add the gray hair to age him.

His age never bothered me....gray hair or not.........he looked like her father, although he made PMT jealous.

The Calderon/ Angelina episodes are very enjoyable to me. Classic Miami Vice!

In One Eyed Jack (the next episode), it is mentioned that Tubbs has only been down in Miami for a month, so there's your timeline. 3-4 weeks after the pilot.

As was already said - They added the greys to make him look like a father.

Since Crockett and Tubbs started to mess with Calderone´s business....he had to cut expenses. So he decided to save money not dyeing his hair anymore.

A mistake on the show's part, bringing back Calderone so soon. MV was really about Tubbs catching his brother's killer; therefore, the series finale -- five years later -- should have been the episode they nabbed/killed Calderone. Think the same way Dr. Kimble catches the one-armed man in the very last episode of The Fugitive.
