One that really comes to mind for me is "French Twist". I used to consider it among the worst, but never the worst, of season two's episodes. (Season Two happens to be my favorite season.) But I have seen the light now. The scene where Tubbs pays Danielle a visit when she's taking a bath is intense! It's hard to take your eyes off that giant china doll face on the wall. This is one of the best scenes in the entire series, up there with the Mr. Johnston scene in "Prodigal Son". The episode has great humor, action, and scenery throughout. It's a total package that is often overlooked. I'm still working on acquiring a taste for "Florence Italy" from start to finish, which has always been my least favorite of S2. It has lots that I do like but, man, it still challenges me in some areas. Too much gratuitous filler and not enough plot. Maybe the producers blew most of the episode's budget in gaining access to the road race and other related stuff and had nothing left to further develop the episode. Anybody know?

I've never cared much for "French Twist" either, and season 2 is my favorite as well. You've inspired me to take another look. I haven't seen it in a looooong while.

Thanks, man. This episode has a lot to offer and I find it strange how it took so long for me to realize it. The nighttime aerial shot you're referring to was quite nice. There was a similar one in the teaser of "Yankee Dollar" where it appeared Crockett nearly got into a collision with another vehicle. I promise it sounds like you can even hear the tires squealing. You ever notice this?

Milk RunAt first I thought it was it was another one of those morality tales similar to the previous episode Little Prince..& there's no real "Set pieces". But then after you seen the whole show, You realise Milk Run is like the pinnacle of how good it can get, the style and story are both perfect.First you have an action packed pre-intro sequence, along with making fun of tubb's hormone problem:DI think this is the first time you see Sonny dressed in all his iconic clothes, for example, the black t-shirt & white jacket, pink linen trousers & his classic wayfarer, & from this point on his hair starts looking more season 2-ishPat Benatar - Hit me with your best shotUnique shots of the Daytona Spider "are we going anywhere in particular or are we just contributing to the ozone layer":clap:One of the few episodes where its raining, the atmosphere is brilliant along with Jan Hammer's score "Rain"Sonny throwing a hotdog in the sleazy guys car :PThis might be one of my favourites of all time. Idk how i could have disliked it at first

The nighttime sequences for "French Twist " and "Yankee Dollar" were filmed by a second unit crew at the same time from the same condo building ( The Palace) On Brickell Avenue :D:thumbsup:

I'm glad to finally get independent confirmation about the "Yankee Dollar" teaser. I thought I might have been imagining it all these years.

French Twist is a pretty good episode. The story isn't anything great. I don't like Tubbs constant meddling. Its a habit of his in season 1 and 2. By Season 3, he mellows out and let's Crockett do his thing and he will do his and there is no meddling in his partners affairs. I really like Lisa Eichorn. She's pretty. One of the best looking woman that Crockett beds. She has a strong personality and character. Something that is missing in most of the women Crockett sleeps with. Jan Hammer's music is awesome and moody. Especially his Danielle theme. It has a romantic, yet mysterious feel to it. Its a moody, but riveting piece. In all its a pretty standard episode, which is the formula for season 2, but enjoyable to watch.

For me, an 'acquired taste' episode would be 'Junk Love'. It wasn't one of my favourites when I first watched it, but I appreciate that it has some fantastic outfits and scenes. This episode is home to one of my top Crockett looks, with this superb evening jacket:

For me, it's "Made For Each Other".  It made no impression on me back in the 1980s.  When I was first rewatching Vice in the early 2000s, I had it as a bottom 5 episode for S1.  Now I have it as top 10 (for S1).

It's hard to pin down what changed.  I'm not sure how I missed that this is one of the best opening teasers of S1.  Great song, perfect banter between Crockett & Tubbs.  Overall, the ep has a real S1 feel to it.  Many of Izzy's best lines of the series are in this ep.

If I had to say why my opinion changed, it must be that I was more ready for comic relief after watching Vice thousands of times.

I loved "Made for Each Other" from the start. I just thought it was a nice detour from the usually serious episodes.

I remember watching "Trust Fund Pirates" when it aired & being unimpressed. I watched it a few months ago & really enjoyed it. Lot of great dialogue & some solid humor. Strong on style & a decent plot. Very underrated!
