  2. Since we're already talking about LMD, and you mention this, this episode's climax is recorded in my memory thanks to the hypnotic effect of "This is what you want, this is what you get." repeated over and over. One of the best episode finales of the series.

  3. 1920s Jazz style version of 13 of Bryan Ferry's songs. Really amazing. "After forty years of making records, both in and out of Roxy Music, I thought now might be an interesting moment to revisit some of these songs, and approach them as instrumentals in the style of that magical period - bringing a new and different life to these songs -- a life without words." Bryan Ferry

  5. Wow, well done Zaq! When I start my Ferrari Daytona Spyder, your skills and attention to detail will put mine to shame! I even bought the original model where the body is already black so it required less painting!

  6. And here I thought it was tough as a Bond villain.

  7. I have a constant loop of Vice quotes rolling around in my head. When I post a quote I just sit and think for a minute. Sometimes I'll pick an episode and go through it in my mind til I come to a quote that sounds good. On rare occasions I will pop in the DVD just to check for accuracy!

  8. Yep agreed. Never put he couch and shrink together. Looked to me like they were exhausted and just waned to sleep.

  9. Great catch there! Never thought about it like that.

  10. I was recalling in that scene C&T were looking at LMD drawings with some accompanying profile notes, presumably written by a shrink. (I never made any connection with the couch comment to a shrink. )

  11. This one from the same album. The part at 6:00 is the most Miami Vice thing ever.

  12. For the record, I don’t try to memorize the dialogue when I watch the show. The sound of it has just became part of my brain over the years—phonetically. Like “we’re your new runners, Glide” is an exact recording in my mind. When I think of that scene, I can hear it like it’s playing out loud. Is this how it works for anyone else here? Right now I’m hearing Hank Weldon say “you guys are starting to sound crazy”

  13. Me, too! I caught that line for the first time that I can remember. It never registered with me that Tubbs (or Crockett?) was alluding to seeing a psychiatrist, and Crockett (or Tubbs?) was just sleepy.

  17. I think you're 95% there. Tim "We're your new runners, Glide. Cooper and Burnett. " Glide: "You guys are aces"

  18. Here are a few pix of the hardwood hammock trails at Matheson Hammock. The Germans should appreciate this because, from what I saw, they love to hike. If Miami doesn't have it, nobody's thought of it yet.

  19. Love the fact they filmed at Matheson Hammock Park and the theatre downtown for the first time for the final episode

  20. So many great scenes already mentioned! Mine are about the same as most others already listed. Some of my favorites but they might change from time to time: 1. Ending of Out Where the Buses Don't Run 2. Crockett walking back into OCB HQ in Redemption in Blood to the song, Don't Give Up. 3. Opening scene of Yankee Dollar with Par Avion playing. 4. In the Air Tonight driving scene 5. The scene where Castillo and Jack Gretsky meet after so many years

  21. Agree, that's a great scene and touching the shotgun could be a mistake. Jim Zubiena could hardly be considered a rookie when it comes to guns. He is one of the top marksmen in the United States. He has won several prestigious titles in shooting competitions and is considered as one of the most qualified specialists on the .45 ACP Pistol. His abilities impressed so much the writer & director Michael Mann, that he decided to give him his first break as an actor in Miami Vice and in Manhunter (in which he also served as weapon handler). He is also known for his work on Band of the Hand (1986) and Long Road Home (1991). That actual scene attracted the attention of the gun enthusiast and law enforcement communities and was really used in law enforcement training for a number of years. He is a really nice guy and is a friend of Vice fans. I exchanged several emails with him. He said that it was just an ordinary M1911 type .45 in the scene. Oh and he is also a Country and Western singer.
