At a raid in a train brothel, Crockett and Tubbs experience a big surprise. One of the arrested customers is the promising Governor’s candidate Tom Pearce. The arrest causes turmoil. Pearce’s fans contend the raid was an intrigue to get him out of business which leads to an IAD interrogation of Crockett and Tubbs. When both cops investigate Pearce’s background, they discover bribery, intrigues, false campaign managers and murder. Suddenly Pearce resigns and disappears...

Bei einer Bordellrazia erleben Crockett und Tubbs eine Überraschung: einer der verhafteten Kunden ist der aussichtsreiche Gouverneurskandidat Tom Pearce. Die Verhaftung wirbelt viel Staub auf. Die Pearce-Anhänger behaupten sogar, die Aktion wäre eine Polizeiintrige, um Pearce aus dem Rennen zu werfen. Crockett und Tubbs bekommen es deshalb sogar mit der Dienstaufsicht zu tun. Als VICE daher Pearce's Umgebung durchleuchtet, stößt man auf Bestechung, Intrigen und Mord. Plötzlich legt Pearce die Kandidatur zurück und verschwindet spurlos...

My Assessment: 

Wertung:
Again a good plot was screwed up on the way to execution. As many characters are in play, the story is complicated and subsequently lacks of action. Excitement is low at the end, but the outcome is though quite realistic. Some good opticals like the orange filter at the murder scene. Remarkable optical specialty for VICE buffs: the early 1988 episodes, especially this one, contain some dark color contrasts and greyish costumes which resemble the early third season shows to some extent. Speaking of the basic story line, they could have made much more out of this. 

Wieder ein guter Ansatz hergeschenkt. Da sehr viele Personen mitspielen und der Plot eher kompliziert ist, macht sich der Mangel an Action stark bemerkbar. Die Folge ist im letzten Teil mässig spannend, aber sehr realistisch. Schade-hier wäre mehr möglich gewesen. Optischer Höhepunkt: Orangefilter bei einer Halbtotalen eines Hauses & Trudy in Blau / Gina in Rot.
