Just found a place with three button Henly's so I bought two. Colours are simple and plain but at least I got an aqua blue one.Docks are in and time to get the boat out of storage. Have to put a fuel pump on the starboard engine but should take an hour one day and I'm ready to live my MV dream again for another season.

Dude,  your boats are the absolute coolest! Warm weather is comming, you are going to look so slick in your shades and henley. Having this boat, you can do what all us can only dream about.[img']http://i172.photobucket.com/albums/w17/steven-spielberg/100_3009.jpg

I was in Vegas tonight (or, "Vega$" to you Michael Mann fans), and wore my white jacket out. Got a few compliments. It was a good change of pace from everyone wearing their dark coats.I had been looking for a white Crockett-like jacket for years, but was on a budget. I finally found one on sale at H&M for only $20. Not as authentic as Cooper&Burnett's gear, but considering all the cigarette smoke abuse it got tonight in Vegas, it was a fair trade.Driving back to my hotel after my adventures, I put on a CD mix of Jan Hammer music from Vice..."Candy," "The Talk" and some others. A rain storm had just passed through, and the nights were blinking everywhere near and far. It was perfect.Every now and again, I get a three or four second whif of the '80s and am there for a bit, frozen in a memory. My head misses a beat and then I am reminded that I can't go back. Wait a minute...I did tonight. Thanks to my white jacket and Jan Hammer.

Congratulations on scoring a beautiful Alfa Spyder ! The very first car that I nearly purchased was a 1969 Alfa 1750 Spyder in British Racing Green. The model still retained the boat tail at that point. I ended up buying a 1968 BMW 2002 which was fun when it ran !

This is my SECOND Alfa Spider Velcoce. My first one was a black 1984 Spider Veloce. Now I own a silver 1991 Alfa Spider Veloce. It is one Awesome ride! It has a removeable hardtop, Power windows, power steering, airbag, rear window defroster, and lots of modern things. Alfa spiders usually don't have these things. The one you were looking at was a Duetto which had the boat tail. I am an avid ALFISTI. Alfa Romeo Spiders are a hobby of mine. Glad you like my car!

Hey Coop,I finally have some pictures of my boat. It's a Columbia 28 sloop called Irish Mist I've been restoring for the last eight years or so. It was built in 1968 so there's always something to do on her. Though I have never lived aboard, I know several people who do, and have spent many nights on the hook or on a can in Avalon and around Catalina Island. She probably has less than half the interior volume of the St. Vitus Dance so would be cramped to live aboard. I have actually been on an Endeavor 42 and they are rooooomy, with two cabins and two head w/showers. Nice!!! The interior shots are blurry because there wasn't enough light. The last picture is the view from my balcony. I'll get some photos of the interior of my place soon.

Great boat Pahno!Love the marina too! It would be cool to have an apartment overlooking your slip. That looks like a lot of fun to sail too? My friend has a C&C that is almost the same as yours and we go out on it all the time. It's nice to go sailing at the end of the day near twilight with westerlies. Is it all standard rigging or do youhave a spinniker or any other toys?

Thanks for the compliment, Stinger.I have a really nice asymmetrical chute that's fun to play with. It's in a sock which makes it easy to douse. It's also way easier to control than a symmetrical on a pole. The genoa is 150% but it's by no means over-powered. The 28 was one of Columbias earlier fiberglass models, and it's their earliest fin-keel, so it was over-built like a tank. It's heavy, but has a nice motion and I don't have to put in the first reef until over 20 knots.I read one of your other posts and I hear you about spending the summer sans shirt and shoes. I think you mentioned somewhere that you teach. I do too, and spend alot of time on the water, as well as camping, all summer long.I agree, afternoon sailing until twilight is the best. There's probably nothing I like better. You know what they say, "A bad day on the water is better than the best day at work."

Pahonu, That is totally far out man!! You do have a lot of CROCKETT in you, don't you? :) The boat looks great. Great view of the marina. Your one lucky guy! Avalon is great! I've been on a cruise ship to the Island myself. Lots of fun to visit the old casino, as it's still in fantastic shape! Nice area for snorkling. Your stuff is looking good! I'm looking forward to more photos pahonu!

Keep 'em coming!

That boat's in great shape for being over 40 years old. I love the navigational map on the table.I learned to sail down the coast at the Newport Harbor Yacht Club back in the day. Sabot, then graduated to a Lido 14. That was a simple but solid sailboat.

Sounds like you had a great time in Vegas. I sure did when I went. I stayed for a week! I did bring blazers, but it was pretty hot there. Here in California, the weather is great. I'm still trying to get over my feeling of wearing a white blazer in public, but I'm working past my fears. It REALLY makes you stand out, doesn't it CharlieGlide? I did the best I could in Vegas to bring it to a VICE level. The Rolex, the blazers, the wayfarers, and also JAN HAMMER on the stereo. I even bought a blazer in the Macy's on the strip. Vegas is awesome! Don't forget to check out my MIAMI VICE LAS VEGAS VACATION Photos!

I put the map in the table 7 or 8 years ago, but it's yellowed alot more than I thought it would. Oh well. I've been to NHYC before. It's just down PCH about 25 minutes from Alamitos Bay where I live. Are you still in the area?Lidos are lots of fun, and I'm actually thinking of getting a Sabot for my kids. A friend of mine has one in great shape he bought for his grandkids, but they never use it. He and I and another friend just competed in the bronze class Cal 20 nationals last summer. ABYC hosted and they were celebrating 50 years with over 50 boats competing. We finished mid-pack, but had a blast. You ever do any racing?

The Ismuth is lots of fun too and even better snorkeling. Cat Harbor on the southwest side is so quiet and the visibility is incredible.I'll have to take some pictures of my place and get them on here soon. It's nothing like yours, but it is a very modern place with a wall of glass and different levels. That, and my wife and I have decorated it rather minimally so it has a bit of that 80's feel. More IKEA-like really, now that I think about it. Before I forget, I read in one of your earlier posts about looking for plants for your place that fit the style. We have a potted bannana palm about six feet high that we had indoors and just recently moved out to the balcony that looks very tropical and could work for you. That, and the thing is indestructable.Coop, you inspired me to buy a henley. I was telling my wife about the site and she remembered the fashion much better than I did. She mentioned the henleys Crockett wore with his jackets and said I might look good in one. I never thought about it before, but she said they are basically half-way between a t-shirt and a polo which I wear alot anyway, so I got a white one. One small step. :)

BRAVO! In honor of you, today, I too am going to wear my white henley. I'm looking forward to seeing your place. Whatever it looks like, or however it is decorated, I'm sure we will like it. We sure aren't picky here. We just like to see enthusiasm, and participation. It's not a contest on who has what, or if they have something better than someone elses, we just like fans of MIAMI VICE in whatever they do. Your stuff if very ineresting. Hopefully I'll return to Avalon, and perhaps get into one of those submarines they have there. That would be pretty cool! I can't remember what I ate there, but I think it actually may have been Pizza. Glad you got a white henley Pal! Now, ....about getting a PINK henley?..... :) Baby steps my man...baby steps. :)

The place I got it had black, white, navy, red, light gray, dark gray, and tan. Pretty basic, and the only ones in my size 2X were white and black. My height and size are a really big limitation on clothes. Some shirts that run smaller I even wear a 3X. I bet they haven't made a 3X pink henley since.....NEVER! :)My wife likes how it looks on me, though.
