Jerry, It's great to have a "support group". It certainly helps to keep an interest when you find that it is shared by others who also have a passion. If I'm in a group of people who have a similar interest, and then over time, they lose the interest in the topic, I might too, and move on. This site has been different for years, and years. Only the most dedicated (or in my case one track minded) remain here, as they really, really have an interest in this fun show that has effected us all so much. It's 2015, and my interest in the show has grown.

I have a theory as to why Michael Talbott has not joined this site. My reasoning is because, 1. He's only reciently gotten into connecting with fans, and has his own Facebook page where he can control all aspects of what goes on there. And, number 2, Saddly, he's friends with Rick Bravo, and Rick Bravo was asked to leave this site due to bullying members. I'm guessing Rick said some things about this site, and most likely Michael has a view of this site based on his friend, and what he has said about it, and has decided not to join as a result. Why else would he not be on the World's biggest MIAMI VICE fan website? He's known about it for some time, but has never posted. I'm saddly pretty sure I'm correct in this assumption.

Regardlesss, he's still happy to meet fans, and share. Hopefully, this will expand over time.

We're all happy you are with us here Jerry, as your a very popular member. We look forward to your posts and photos. We are your second family. We all share, and care. That's what MIAMI VICE fans on this site do. It's our tradition.

Hey Coop, who is this Rick Bravo guy? and why was he ever here in the first place?

RICK BRAVO was the camera focus puller, and is the son of the First unit camera man for the first and second seasons of MIAMI VICE. Rick's father also played the guy who dumped the garbage, and mopped the floors after hours at the OCB) "PEPE" in MIAMI VICE in the episodes "MADE FOR EACH OTHER" & "TALE OF THE GOAT". I think his user name here was ACAMPULLER. Don Johnson called him R2,  (Rick #2)  His father was R1 as he was Enrique (Rick for short) Bravo Sr.

RICK BRAVO joined the site when we were on our first website. He was cool at first, and dazzled us with insider information that you could easily ask him about the show, just as easily as you could ask me a question here. He also provided lots, and lots of photos he took with his camera while on the set. These photos had never been seen before. Things were awesome! After a while, he started getting argumentive, insulting, and bullied members.

PHILIP MICHAEL THOMAS's Brother, and bodyguard joined the site, and Rick didn't believe it was him, called him out on it, and mistreated him to the point that he just left the site because of Rick. Rick became nasty, and members started to complain that the fun was going away, and members didn't want the abuse. He was asked to tone it down, but it persisted. It was hard to ask him to leave, because he was involved with every first unit shot in MIAMI VICE, gave out information, and showed incredible photos., but in return, he mistreated members.

When the bullying of members continued, the decision to ask him to leave was an extremely tough choice, but one I to this day agree with. Things calmed down, and members returned. Everyone was friendly again. I already had my Scrapbook section, but I then vowed to fill the void of RICK BRAVO, and be a very friendly and helpful member, and I expanded my collecting to share with members. We didn't need another member like Rick, and we won't again.

It's too bad that we were made to have to ask him to leave, but he agreed to do so (with the condition that we remove all his photos and section). It's the last time we had someone so close to the production as a regular member. We did have two members who were actresses on the show post a few times, but they dissapeared, never to return.

I can see RICK BRAVO telling Michael Talbott that we were ungrateful, and threw him off the site, and him thinking we are not nice people. (these are my words, not his) Just my guess, as Michael should be on this site by now.  Rick Bravo and Michael Talbott are friends to this day, and when Michael visits Florida, he visits Rick.

Damn, that sounds really rough...it must be horrible to meet someone so close to production who gives you abuse, me? I sometimes get this kinda fear of an actor cussing me out or someone from my favorite show not liking me because of something I said, and it would come to a point I couldn't watch the show, it would kill and you'd feel guilty inside even though it may or may not be your fault. Know what I mean?

Yes, I know what you mean. I understand what you're saying.

Hopefully, that will never, ever happen.

Suppose you just need to be careful of what you say really, opinions in this day and age can get you really in trouble sadly.

Your correct, of course. However, there are people who are overly PC (Politically Correct as they say in the U.S.), or hyper sensitive. I don't believe in being PC. Just be kind, thoughtful, supportive and encouraging. Being mean and nasty is not necessary. I treat people how I wish to be treated.

Wow Coop !

After all these years being here I finally have understand what happened then.

btw..
I think you could be pretty right with your suspiscion about Ricks words to Michael.
Michaels straight 'non contact' although he became asked about interesting things in a nice and polite way

is unusual in general to a board kind a like Facebook and even more unusual to Michaels general helpful, open and funny kind.

So even the past makes it to destroy to analyze 'things' like they would need/deserve.

Detective_Crockett, that's why you, I, and everyone else here gets along well. We're all MIAMI VICE fans here, and it's what brings us together.

Bluepearl, Saddly, I feel it's true. I wouldn't know how else to explain it.

If you posted a direct link to this site on his facebook page , I'm thinking he wouldn't visit, or respond.

RICK BRAVO used to give Michael Talbott questions for him to answer for our site via Rick who would post his reply. He let Michael Talbott know he was invited to join here, but at the time, Michael was still a working actor (unlike now when he's retired), and really wasn't interested.

Michael likes to meet the public, and has talked John Diehl into going to car shows with him in the 80's to sign autographs (John didn't like it, and stopped doing car shows), but they both enjoy doing conventions, like the FRENCH TWIST reuinons. They get a kick out of going to a new place, seeing the other co-stars whom they all get along great, and meeting MIAMI VICE fans. It's fun for them to reminisce with the other co-stars.

Michael is a good guy. We just have to accept the way things are.

Thanks for all the information Coop.  This reminds me of a guy I met here in Pahrump, NV who told us fellow poker players he was a real police officer in Miami during the Vice days.  He appeared on the show several times along with other real officers because he said  it was cheaper to hire real cops than actors playing cops.  Unfortunately this former cop was also a Vietnam veteran who died last year from the effects of Agent Orange.  He was a fun guy and would have been a great source of insider info.

Coop thanks for your kind words. That's a true community and I enjoy being part of it everyday.

In any time and place, sooner or later we meet people who's not correct or behaves bad. If the group is healthy and made of good persons, sooner or later they find themselves put aside because of their own nature.

Thanks for all the infos about the whole story, Coop. Clear and well explained as always. We don't need guys like him, Rick who??

The Polaroid is also a One-Of-A-Kind picture. A continuity photo is taken of all the members of the cast on the day of filming, so that if they need to shoot a scene the next day, or a pick up shot later, they know what they wore, and how it visually looked. Not many of these escaped the production into private hands. There are a precious few out there, but each one is different, and Unique. No two are alike. This is a rare example, so you, the member here, can see for the very first time what this item looked like when MIAMI VICE was on TV.

Each photo is unique. Most actors just stood there, and didn't even smile for the photo, as it is only taken as a reference of what they looked like that day on the set.

On one side, and sometimes also under the taped-on Poloroid photo is a description as to what they wore. The Continuity Director worked closely with the Wardrobe Dept. This may have actually been taken by the Wardrobe Dept., as the Continuity Dept. had to keep an eye on every detail, such as props to make sure they are in the same place from shot to shot.

The description, in many cases even stated the maker of the clothes that were worn. It also usually gives the name of the Character, the scene of which he is in wearing the clothes, and the set it was worn on.

On the top right corner, under the actors name, is a number. That number incicates which episode the actor was filming at the time (titles change, but the episode production number won't). It's not in perfect sequence of the MIAMI VICE episodes in exact order, as they didn't make 6,000 + episodes. With a number as high as 63519, it encompasses all Universal Productions, and this number is the one that fell on the production of this particular episode.

More flashbacks Coop!  Thanks!!!

I remember continuity working very closely with the script supervisor as well as wardrobe.  They had to keep the clothes from every moment of every scene accurate.  If, for example, the actor unbuttons their collar or takes of their hat during the scene, they have to note which line it happened, and stuff like that.  Otherwise, second unit couldn't go back and do fill-in shots accurately.  Very tedious, but necessary.

It just occured to me, but I bet continuity people can't be fans of all the "flub spotters" today analyzing the shows in slow motion for mistakes.  A lot of those little mistakes were their job!

Yeah, I know.  I learned a lot from him. You would just ask a question in his thread, and he'd answer it. I now know why PMT wasn't in THE HOME INVADERS, ...stuff like that.

He said DON made him a lot of money, as he was late to the set from his trailer, and held up the crew so many times (the longer the wait, the more money Rick, and everyone would make in overtime).

If only Rick didn't treat members poorly, we would have had him here today. He could have been one awesome asset. ....Could have been.

He injured his ankle, and couldn't do the episode. EJO filled the void. Actually, I didn't mind having Crockett & Castillo working together. I liked it for a change.

Coop, is it possible you can tell us more by those kind of 'specials' ?

I do not mean the anger with R. Bravo at MVforum.

I mean happenings kind a like this with the ankle with Phil and Home Invaders or the bad Don letting wait the crew.

So general specials RB told (if he was 'good'), you do remind ?

I'd like to! It's just trying to remember what was asked. It was about 10 years ago. I'd most likely need help with the older members who were there too who could post what they remember. I remember the answer to the PMT ankle question, because I asked the question.

I think I have a thread I started called, BET YOU DIDN'T KNOW that covers stuff that you didn't know about MIAMI VICE that I learned over the years.

http://miamiviceonline.com/index.php/topic/2453-vice-info-you-didnt-know/page-1?hl=+didn't +know

and it's sister thread...   http://miamiviceonline.com/index.php/topic/1789-bet-you-didnt-know/

He told about how Elvis's poop stunk to high heaven, and how Don was extremely particular with his hair between shots, and he mentioned something about Don being dropped off by a Helicopter for some event, and it had Don Johnson's initials as part of the registration number on the side of the Helicopter. Rick was unfortunately not a fan of DJ, and thought he was a bit vain, and into himself. He said Don was cool at first, but as time went on, got personally colder, and colder to Rick.

WOAH !!
Thanks for THESE links Coop !
That's already more as I have had hoped for !!  :fireworks:

Brilliant !
We actually have to bring back those 'elder' topics to life

I will dive in that two topics now - I am so sure I will enjoy like hell  :D ..

Rick will have recognized DJ just the way he was.
DJ IS VAIN  => simple fact ! He mentioned it all the time and still does.

To the getting 'from cool to cold' I think that is pretty normal. If you are going through such a hype you are getting

lessons for life like brand markings. What always stays are the moments you get tricked.

What let me wonder...

if Rick was not able to stand the change in DJs personality from a pal to a man...

WHY then he used again and again just DJ images (unfortunately mostly private shots) for his own promotions?

So both will have dirt at their shoes if it comes to their personalities.
I even do not want to imagine where DJs carriere would have went just then if he would have been always

the nice friendly unselfish man?

You have to be bad at the right places if you want to reach the top.

In these days more used then ever before in society.... or ? ;)

Glad you liked my links! They have all sorts of lesser known information in it. If anyone wants to add something that most people don't know about MIAMI VICE, go ahead!

The more you know about MIAMI VICE, the more fun it is!
