Vice Immersion
I was doing some internet searching to see any articles or commentary about Miami Vice while it aired, to see the perspective of what the viewing audience thought about the show as it was transitioning, especially with Seasons 3 and 4, and found these 4 covers of TV Guide magazine about Miami Vice on a Spanish-language website called Bonanza. July 27, 1985 Cover ("On Location With Miami Vice")http://m.bonanzamercado.es/listings/TV-Guide-1687-Miami-Vice-on-location-Jul-27-1985-no-label-Richard-Amsel-cover/213062290?st_id=26751555 March 21, 1987 Cover ("Dallas Drubs The Cops: Why Miami Vice Seems to Be Slipping")http://m.bonanzamercado.es/listings/TV-Guide-1773-Dallas-drubs-Miami-Vice-Mar-21-1987-Linda-Purl-Matlock-no-label/213059582 September 19, 1987 Cover ("Backstage Report: Miami Vice Breakout: It Will Be Wilder This Year")http://m.bonanzamercado.es/listings/TV-Guide-1799-Brooke-Shields-for-Miss-America-Sept-19-1987-Miami-Vice-no-label-/213053161?st_id=26751555 March 19, 1988 Cover ("If It's Not Too Late... I'm very curious to read what the authors for each of these articles have mentioned, and compare them to our hindsight perspective of the show. Matt5
The 1988 article really shows how MV was trying hard not to be cancelled and raise its ratings - great info!!!
Detective_Crockett
July 27, 1985 This picture is so wrong, the guns should be the other way around. xD Edited May 29, 2015 by Detective_Crockett

COOPER&BURNETT
Of course I own them. .....It's me! I don't own the one with Brooke Shields on the cover however. Check out this! I have the four TV GUIDE MEGA RARE MIAMI VICE COVER PORTRAITS ( much less than 100 exist!) http://miamiviceonline.com/index.php/topic/2152-mega-rare-tv-guide-miami-vice-portraits-less-than-100-exist/ Also Detective_Crockett, this should answer your above comment. Vice Immersion
Thanks guys for providing what you can, especially to member "Cooper&Burnett" for showing the covers. After just finishing Season 3, I wanted to see if TV Guide's criticisms and opinions of the show during the show's run lined up with ours from today, or if there would be a huge difference that would make us think, "What the heck were they thinking back then?" It would be intriguing in reading what TV Guide attributes exactly to the sharp decline in viewership in Season 3 (the March 1987 issue), and what TV Guide suggests in saving Miami Vice by the time Season 4 is about three-quarters over (in the March 1988 issue). Noggie
I have the fourth one & remember the first. That was s dreary time. The show had gotten so tired. Drab colors & everything shot in this misty filter. I remember missing the earlier seasons a lot.I remember them mentioning stories were taken from the headlines & the new color scheme. Seemed like it ended saying Miami had become a wilder place than Vice was on tv. Edited June 22, 2015 by Noggie
