Yup, the Fabulous Films set. Although it was rough in the beginning, I've actually came to like it. I'm happy with my purchase, once the sound issues are all fixed and it's reissued by someone (maybe an official Universal release), it really could be an amazing box set! I hope to see it re-remastered in 4K someday... With better technology since it's been about 10 years since these were done, it could look even better. I read somewhere that a 35mm film can pretty much be scanned as high as 85 megapixels. 4K is 8.3 megapixels. Basically - I won't be satisfied until I see Miami Vice in 40k. Or they should scan it in 40k, and then when it gets shrunk to 4k it should look even better quality-wise than scanning it straight to 4k. Yeah I know, it was certainly NOT a commitment to make any changes at this point.,..but at least they finally acknowledged my request. We shall see. They may decide not to change this but overall I am pretty happy with my Blu-ray set and especially at the price point. It is noticeably better in video quality than the DVDs, imo. I think it's worth it though you may have to inquire as to whether the 3 Discs that were identified as defective have been corrected/addressed in the latest shipments. However Season 2 is better, a handful of episodes especially. The worst of season 2 is equal to the best of season 1, I'd say. And I just started season 3 (watched the first two episodes) and I'm even more impressed with the picture. Seems to get better as time goes on, I guess technology rapidly evolved in the 80s and they got new cameras each season? I'd say the quality itself is the same between releases, however Fabulous Films have more colour and contrast in theirs. So the colours really stand out, and I think it looks more natural. In Mill Creek's, there's less colours, more of a faded dusty look. I'm not sure whose is original and whose is altered... Wow, it's amazing to see these screenshots! And I like, how you posted from Season 3-5 to get a better idea of how each Season looks with the characters and scenery. Thank you so much for posting this Crockettt! It would be great also to see some shots from S1 and S2 please. For example the night/boat scene in "Brothers Keeper" with Sonny and Gina . And "Calderone's return"/ "The hit list", where Tubbs and Gina are rushing in the Daytona to Crockett's rescue. I have been really curious whether that was actually Michael Talbott. And some of the episodes that James mentioned stood out picture-wise like "Cool Runnin," "One Eyed Jack" or "Smuggler's Blues" in S1. Thanks! By the way, did you buy your set from Amazon?
