Summer in Melbourne, Australia is probably the most inconsistent in the world. Like, all last week it was above 30°C, but today is a cool 15 and bucketing down rain. All week is looking miserable 17, 19, 23, 21, 21. Usually at the end of December it heats up again, usually high 20s, low 30s, then late January and through February are our hottest months and occasionally we get heat waves in the low 40s but didn't last year weirdly.

Once every 5 years or so we get a soggy tropical summer where it's always overcast, rainy, humid, stormy. I think it's going to be one of those this year.

Nice to know, thanks. Okay, so January and February months are just like, I imagined it would be. Those are still pretty high temperatures for this time of the year for December. A lot of people would wish, they lived in a warmer climate. I personally like, when it's below 25 and around 20, but constantly unstable windy and rainy weather is the worst.

Last week was pretty warm for still being November. I can't recall any other year where I've gone in the pool multiple times during November, one night at 2am it was still 27 degrees, almost unheard of for November. Summer came early, and then it left as soon as summer officially started. :)

Yeah, I love those low-mid 20s days where it's sunny and there's only a slight sea breeze. That's the perfect day IMO.

So, it's safe to say, no snow, down under. :)

I agree, those are the perfect weather conditions, not too hot and not  too cold, something in between a middle temperature is most comfortable.

Here it's like, you wait almost a year for summer season to start and then you just get one or two weeks, where you can really feel the heat. Last year July month was rainy and cold. It's constantly unstable. I remember one day in spring, in the morning a lot of snow had fallen and then in the afternoon it rained washed it all away and the sun was shining. I was like experiencing 3 seasons in one day. :)

It usually starts snowing at the end of January, although it wasn't like that when I was a kid. And November month had warmer and more sunny days this year.

It does snow, just at high altitude. Not at sea level, it's slightly too warm for that. I think the coolest it gets here is around -1, -2. And I remember being told you need -3 to produce snow. It does snow in the city about once every 50 years though. I guess when the sun is in a solar minimum and the Earth is cooler?

Just finished watching the show Stranger Things.  I must say it is the most original, creative, well written show I have seen in a long time.  A combination of horror/sci-fy/government conspiracy.  If you are in to these type of shows I highly recommend watching it.

Watched the season 5 finale of Mad Men last night. There's a scene in the theater where the music from Casino Royale 1967 plays and the ending is a montage with You Only Live Twice playing. Three minutes of bliss for this Bond geek.

Unfortunately I can't add top 10 movies in the other thread, can only think of one or two I would consider as favorite. :) I guess, never really gave it much thought. For instance I've seen Gone With Wind many times probably also because it's been rebroadcasted several times, but still don't see it as a favorite that I would mention in a top 10 list.

It's much easier for me to name favorite TVshows (well some are more favorite than others or just enjoyable watching) which I can in this thread.

In random order:

Seinfeld

Miami Vice ( as second only because I prefer comedy over crime shows)

Fresh Prince of Bel air (Watched in the past)

Gilmore Girls (Watched in the past)

Charmed (Watched in the past)

The Nanny (Watched in the past)

Melrose Place (Watched in the past)

Xena (Watched in the past)

Spartacus  (Explicit content) (Watched in the past)

The Big Bang Theory (Currently watching)

Vampire Diaries (Watched in the past)

Edit: McLeod's Daughters (Watched in the past)

I'll add more to the list if more come to mind.

Okay...for the most part I like crime/cop/mystery shows, but there are some drama ones that as a kid I didn’t care about...but as an adult I actually like now. I know it’s probably ridiculous but I actually like Dallas, and recently I got a hold of a Knots Landing set. I had never seen it before, so for the past couple months I’ve been watching that...it’s actually pretty fun, lol! :p Mad Men is awesome too.

Just started watching a Netflix original called "Altered Carbon"  Sci-fi show with a lot of "Blade Runner" influence. Also, for those concerned. R rated. Tons of violence, nudity and language. I've only watched 2 of the 10 episodes so far but so far it's holding my interest.

The Punisher. Such a good show, quite dark and gorey occasionally, but it's got a good story and action. For a Marvel show - It's pretty damn dark. I usually don't like Marvel stuff, like superhero stuff.  But he isn't a hero at all, he's a vigilante who kills. The first season is basically about him getting revenge.

And the Marvel TV shows are usually cheesy and more kid-friendly. But this is definitely made for adult audiences. Because it's a Netflix show they can get away with more than any TV network would allow.

9/10

Yes the "Punisher" was exceptionally brutal but true to the character. The same can be said for "Daredevil"  My only complaint with the Marvel Netflix shows is how slowly their character development takes. For example, it took the entire 1st season of "Daredevil" before he showed up in costume. I guess in a way this is a good thing?  But I found myself watching the "Punisher" and saying to myself "when is he going to start killing people?!"

I watched a Netflix series called Bloodlines a while back.  It was really great and grabbed me right from the beginning.  It does get a little convoluted through the ending episodes but definitely one of the best things I've seen in a while.

I also like Ten Days in the Valley, but they've cancelled it after only one season.  Such a shame as its premise was very interesting.

That's true. I felt like the introduction period went for over 5 episodes episodes, took super long to set up the characters, and get the guns, etc. Maybe season 2 will speed things up a bit.

I'm hoping that there's more vigilante stuff in season 2 now that everyone's dead and The Punisher is "back", now he's free to go with the war against criminals the original Punisher is known for.

People, if you've never seen Crime Story or the Steelgrave arc of Wiseguy I highly recommend that you do because they're brilliant and classics.

I've decided that it's time to finish Remington Steele. Big fan of Pierce Brosnan and anything related to Bond. I bought the complete series and have yet to complete seasons 3-5. Watched a couple episodes tonight. Pretty enjoyable and uplifting show.

Sopranos is my favorite after MV. Mainly the first four seasons. Didn't really care for the last two seasons apart from Steve Buscemi.:p

Such a great show and writing:hippie:
