Sonny-Burnett
Kavinsky, these are some great posts by you , and your knowledge of Ferraris is impressive. Kavinsky
Thanks Sonny-Burnett, I'm the kind of person who if something doesn't look right to me I'll keep trying to find out what it is that bugs me and then I'll figure out how to fix it.After seeing the Daytona on Vice for the first time and found out what it was and why it was capable of such speeds I went from prefering loud, crude muscle cars like the Dodge Viper, Dodge Challenger and the 71 Cuda' (DJ strikes again) to Ferraris (however the Cobra stayed on my list, it is after all THEE ultmate muscle car)Mind you after seeing a real 1971 cuda like this one at a car show with drag slicks on the rearand the black spoiler of this onethe Cuda' quickly rejoined my list of dream cars againBut if I ever do get my hands on one the FIRST thing I'm going to do is upgrade the "discs in the front, drums in the back" brakes to all around carbon ceramic discs. For those that don't know what those are they're brakes that don't fade as quickly and they don't get "cooked" from heavy use on the track, that actually grip better as they heat up, reducing the stoping distance.I know that sounds abit excessive but after you see this you'll know why (the bit im talking about is at 4:30)http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YsZcaPD5iq8And he're some more daytona porn for you guyshttp://www.dailymotion.com/user/legallien/video/x1119s_clarkson-on-the-ferrari-365-gtb4-da_autohttp://www.dailymotion.com/user/legallien/video/x111ar_ferrari-365-gtb4-daytona-14_autohttp://www.dailymotion.com/user/legallien/video/x111b4_ferrari-365-gtb4-daytona-24_autohttp://www.dailymotion.com/user/legallien/video/x111bb_ferrari-365-gtb4-daytona-34_autohttp://www.dailymotion.com/user/legallien/video/x111bn_ferrari-365-gtb4-daytona-44_auto

chum981
OK, so I've watched this a few times now! The best thing is there's no commentary - just the sound of the car!A really good find Kavinsky - I highly recommend all the people on this site watch it! Problem for me is I'm watching this at work so I can't put the volume up too high!!! I need to go home and watch it on full volume!!! chum981
Oh, btw, I much rather prefer the Daytona - my favorite car - many consider it to be the best Ferrari ever made.

Pandina
This post provokes me an insane desire of owning a Ferrari! The black Daytona is one of the best ever.As for MV it was a lot better than the TR because more appropriate to highlight the classic features of the show: the exotic location, Crockett's hair, driving at night, C&T's closeups etc. I like the Testarossa in white and black (like the ones that C&B posted) only because I think the red colour makes it look less cool, I don't know how to explain. Yes, I know red is the classic Ferrari colour and I should have one in red because I already have a matching dress, but... THIS ONE IS AWESOME!!! http://www.hilavitkutin.com/wp-content/uploads/2007/07/hello-kitty-ferrari_testa_rossa.jpgPaint it? Shoot it? :eek:Over my dead body! *Screech of tyres* *Pandina drives away in the Hello Kitty TR**No guarantees in the Western world... no guarantees in the Western world...*
Kavinsky
I admit on refelection it doesn't look so bad in pink, but the hello kitty stickers have to go though, but being a guy the only pink car I could have under the law of manliness would be this oneand while I do like the testarossa, I don't like the spyder, it just makes it look TOO boxyand chum981 did you see the last vid on my list where he does a perfectly executed 180 with the daytona?http://www.dailymotion.com/user/legallien/video/x111bn_ferrari-365-gtb4-daytona-44_autoand COOPER&BURNETT I am going to go look for some testarossa vids of the same quality for you. Administrators timm525 Posted April 8, 2009 Administrators Report Share Posted April 8, 2009 A few years ago I took my Jag into the dealer to have a service done on it. While waiting I went over to the show room and there was a black TR like the one above. It was really amazing to see the car in person. My first reaction/thought was how low it sits to the ground. It's like waist high. I'd bet your butt would feel the ground on some dips in the the road! :)I don't recall exactly but it was a late 80's model and it was selling for about 70-80K at that time. It was in show room condition and looked bran new.If it wasn't for the maintenance and insurance, I would have bought it. :evil:Pretty cool! Dadrian
the testarossa is 44.5 inches high, if my memory serves me correctly.DJ is about 5'10", i think, if that helps put it in perspective.i saw one in person a cupla times, too. i had the same first thought, tim. Kavinsky
yeah timm525. the maintenance and the insurance is the typicall killing points for would be ferrari buyers, and that especially goes for the testarossa. unlike the Daytona and the the other Ferrairs of the 60's and 70s' which we're more "as when" maintenance wise. The Testa, 308 and for that matter all post 1985 ferrari's have to go in at 15,000 miles for a clutch change, which is atleast a 5k job on the Testarossa because they have to lift the motor straghtout of it to get at the clutch.Which partly explains why you usually find ferraris with 5 - 20k miles on them for sale and on top of that it's probably a wise move on Ferrari's part to just make that clutch change a part of the routine maintenance at 15k because.... well.... look how most people treat Ferraris when they first drive them, and theres plenty more videos of people abusing testarossas like this on youtube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tgk-Q9R7_7s&feature=related by the way i've updated my second post on page 5 with some better pictures.
