Dalton was offered the role in '69 but considered himself to young for the part.. Strange how many non-Bond fans dig OHMSS. I really enjoy the film' date=' it has to be the closest to the source material of any in the series.[/quote']Well, you heard what I did then. OHMSS was a good film, it's just that Lazenby couldn't bring it together IMHO.

I voted for Daniel Craig. Why? I always thought of every other Bond movies that I've seen as being a satire on the secret agent life. Gadgets, hot women with double-entendre names, weirdo megalomaniac crime bosses with weird agendas who just HAVE to show you their secrete plans/crime lairs. To me, none of the previous bond Movies took the Bond character seriously until Casino Royale. The movies were really good, but not just don't seem to hold up to other really good movies lik Casino Royale did. Ironically enough, the first Casino Royale was actually a spoof of the Bond movies.

Definitely Sean Connery is James Bond numero uno! He's a classic! Tall, dark and handsome! Followed closely by Pierce Brosnan (just loved him in Remington Steele!) and then Daniel Craig...Should be interesting to see what he does in this next bond picture and he does his own stunts! Impressive!

Sean Connery, there is no comparison! Sean has been and shall always be my number 1 Bond, Roger Moore being a close second. I really don't understand how you can pick Craig as 1st since he's only done 1 so far. Unless of course, you think the other Bond actors totally sucked and he was the only good one. Can't wait for Quantum Solace though.

My choice is Brosnan first, then Connery and after him Roger Moore. Brosnan is cool and I already liked him when he played Remmington Steel.Christine

I forgot to mention that I was born in the mid 80's, so I didn't choose Connery because he was the Bond of my era. But that is a very popular and sometimes accurate suspicion, that some choose their Bond by who was Bond at their time.I consider myself lucky, I had these great Connery, Roger Moore, Lazenby & Dalton movies to enjoy as a kid. A lot to choose from and a lot to see.

David Niven gets my vote. But seriously, I wanted to share of couple of Bond-related thoughts.I grew up with Roger Moore as Bond. Then in subsequent years he was bashed as campy and lightweight, sort of like the Adam West of Bonds. I'm not sure that was fair, but Connery definitely did cut the more dashing figure.Pierce Brosnan should've been the best Bond ever. He looked like he'd been genetically engineered for the part. We'd been waiting for two decades to see what he'd do with the role. It was thoroughly UNDERwhelming.I'm surprised Timothy Dalton didn't lose his UK citizenship over the abortion that was his Bond tenure. Eek.

My list would be:1 : Connery. Cool as hell. Charming and deadly at the same time. Classic Bond.2: Daniel Craig: Back to what Bond is all about. A no nonsence hitman. Remember folks. Licence to kill. That does not mean silly jokes like Roger Moore.3: Thimothy Dalton: Like Craig back to Ian Flemings Bond. A good Bond and a shame he only did 2 moviesA shame that Lazenby was chosen for " On Her Majestys Secret Secret Service". A great plot and even with LAzenby a fair movie. I can only dream about how it would have been with Connery. Pierce Brosnan. Well way better than Roger Moore and George Lazeny and " Tomorrow Never Dies " and " The World Is Not ENough" were his best 2.

Yaaaay im in good company here-Sean is my no.1!Growing up as a kid i only knew Roger Moore as James Bond-and loved it!A few times there were Sean Connery ones on but i didnt associate him with the character, and never watched the whole films.Saw all the films as an adult and while i still love roger as bond(view to a kill is my favourite of all bond films)Sean is the ultimate bond to me.They even brought him back twice!I did rate pierce brosnan and timothy dalton-i absolutely despise daniel craig-and thats in any film i would never watch him(casino royale is only one i have watched all the way through).

Sean Connery IS James bond. He's suave, sophistacated, occasionally ruthless and his one liners are less cheesy than the other bonds. I've been appreciating Dalton & Lazenby more recently. The living daylights & OHMSS are atleast in the top 10 films!.I like Craig, Casino Royale was brilliant and Skyfall looks like a classic waiting to happen.
