Yeah, it's life in the UK at the moment. Help :shout:I'd love it if Britain could apply to be the 51st state in the US and experience some true democracy for once

Well if there is evidence that the parents have or could possibly be bad parents/abuse their children then fine install them...but this article makes it sound more widespread and just dished out to whoever.I hate this god damn country, **** weather, CCTV everywhere, taxed on everything, high fuel prices, high university tuition fees.... why so many immigrants want to come here is beyond me, its a hell whole of a country. Only + point I can see is the NHS being free...but it's still ****.

This link makes it sound a little less widespread and only targetted at troubled families http://current.com/items/90597013_uk-government-to-install-surveillance-cameras-in-private-homes.htmBUT STILL, surely there is a better way to deal with this? In my opinion a lot of the social disorder in the UK is down to broken families, current state legislation favours parents getting divorced. I currently am entitled to no Uni benefits, if my parents divorced and lived with my mum, I could put my mum's income down, which is 0 and get all the benefits I wanted but still get money from my dad. I see so many cocky idiots at Uni rolling around in money wasting it on alcohol and cars, I'd love a car but not only is my dad supporting me at uni he's having to through his taxes support these selfish idiots. Im sure there are isolated genuine cases but there are so many that get **** loads of benefits when they don't need them. This systems benefits divorce, which causes social harm especially to the poorest in society, which means they are more likely to turn to crime.Solution? Create benefits to encourage marriage and family unity.

Don't act too fast - it's already been proposed for here too. You knew we'd catch up -didn't you?"Houston Chief of Police Harold Hurtt said cameras should be placed inside apartments and homes in order to “fight crime†due to there being a shortage of police officers. “I know a lot of people are concerned about Big Brother' date=' but my response to that is, if you are not doing anything wrong, why should you worry about it?†Chief Hurtt told reporters."[/i']http://www.fortbendlp.org/modules.php?name=News&file=article&sid=27

But the Tax payer still pays for that through National insurance deductions from their wages. The only difference between here and places like the US and certain European countries is that they pay for Private healthcare and we pay for Public health care.I agree that "Rip off Britain" is alive and well. In the US you get twice as much food for half the price, free drink refills, and you don't get served by some ignorant tosser who can't even be bothered to look you in the eye!

A government big enough to give you everything you want' date=' is strong enough to take everything you have.[/quote']Big government is the root of all evil. The U.S. main stream media wants to let everyone know that this is what the majority of U.S. citizens want. Just ask the College professors and students. The bigger the government, the bigger the problems. What huge goverment programs HAVEN'T complicated things?

One thing Ive noticed over the years is the differences in attitude that Brits and Americans have to their country. On the whole, Americans Ive come across on this board and others are quite patriotic, proud of their country, proud to be American. Brits on the other hand, including myself are far from proud. I feel no pride in my country at all, sure there are times I love it, but taxation, the weather just to name a few make this a damn miserable country to live in. I owe nothing to this country and the first chance I get to emigrate to a country that looks better I'll take it. Only thing that would try and keep me back here would be family.

Our government pays people to stay at home (via benefits) and watch 'the Jeremy Kyle Show' and 'Jerry Springer' - socialism doesn't work

Younger Americans seem to be taught now mainly through teachers it seems, that socialism is good. You can have the Government take care of you, and you really don't need to do anything. Younger Americans are starting to learn your rewarded for being lazy. And they are rewarded for being lazy.I know of no country that is flourishing, and is great that is socialist. Why go in that direction??

< rant on >There is nothing great about Britain... not any more! You work hard, you pay your taxes and everything else that they demand of you... then comes the time that you need their help... and what do you get - f all!We have to move before the end of the year... no choices... the property needs too much spent on it to make it viable (it is a trailer/park home)... don't have enough points to get a council property... just been told that we have too much income (pension and jobseekers allowance) to get housing benefit... and I can't get a job to pay rent!Life sucks!!!< / rant off >Sorry

I've heard that England is not the same as it once was. You even have foreign students invading your country, then destroying it because they are angry because they can't get jobs. Makes you wonder why ENGLAND and the U.S. still permit this type of stuff.

I am sick of everything at the moment... I am sick of MPs fiddling their expenses and getting away with it... I am sick of people who contribute nothing to anyone getting what they want handed to them on a plate... and I am sick of those who are genuinely in need getting shafted hand over fist!
