Kavinsky
after seeing this I wanted to get both of these cars for my collection and I managed to track them down so I thought I'd share the info here for anyone else who thought the same and couldn't find any info or links about them or to anyone that sells themthe white Testa's a special edition made by a company called IXOhttp://www.model-car.com/miniature_detail.asp?nr=MDC007the Daytona's made by Kyosho but sadly its been out of production since 2007, but they do show up occasionally on ebayhttp://cgi.ebay.com.my/1-64-FERRARI-365GTS4-red-KYOSHO-2007-limited_W0QQitemZ250482265768QQcmdZViewItemQQptZDiecast_Vehicles?hash=item3a51e80ea8&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14http://smallgarage.gun-gun.net/64/2008/10/kyosho-164-ferrari-365-gts4.php
Administrators timm525 Posted August 19, 2009 Administrators Report Share Posted August 19, 2009 Cool, thanks! Is that supposed to be $40.00 for the Testarossa? Can't be? :confused:I'm impatiently waiting for them to release the Bren Ten. Come on guys!!!
Kavinsky
I'm afraid so, some of the minichamps in that size go for anywhere between 40 - 90 depending on the seller, you can get lucky on ebay though and get one for 20 like this onehttp://cgi.ebay.com/1-43-Minichamps-Audi-Sport-Quattro-Dealer-Version_W0QQitemZ140339951407QQcmdZViewItemQQptZDiecast_Vehicles?hash=item20ace9b72f&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14I'm kinda tempted but I'm looking for a regular quattro, not the sport one

dchan
Well...I don't read Cantonese but I filled out a requisition to purchase one. Lets see if I get a confirmation email?????Kyosho is a Japanese company, and it's page is written in Japanese. Nowadays, there is no such thing as the Cantonese written language, at least not in common usage. There is a Mandarin written language, the universal language in China, and spoken Cantonese does share many, if not most, of its words with Mandarin. However, Cantonese also features several words that simply don't exist in written Mandarin.
Stinger390X
Well I am ashamed to say I could not read it at all..................I admire the Chinese for having over four thousand charachters which all have meanings, as we only have a 26 letter alphabet. Must be hard for children to absorb all that????????????Either way they have not replied to me and its been a couple of weeks.
dchan
Well I am ashamed to say I could not read it at all..................I admire the Chinese for having over four thousand charachters which all have meanings' date=' as we only have a 26 letter alphabet. Must be hard for children to absorb all that????????????Either way they have not replied to me and its been a couple of weeks.[/quote']I only know a few characters of Chinese, and consequently, Japanese. Japanese is based off of Chinese and shares many characters, but it's a very different language otherwise. The best way to tell the two apart? Chinese has a lot of complex characters with straight writing. It would look something like this: 前期型固定式通称搭載If someone is literate in Chinese this on this forum, what I wrote above will make no sense at all. I simply pasted the Chinese characters from the Kyosho Daytona website in a random order. Japanese has Chinese characters interspersed with a bunch of curvy-looking symbols. It will look something like this:レイアウトを採用しており, ベースとなったベYou will see two Chinese characters within (採用); every other character is unique to Japanese. But we don't need to be literate to be able to read the website. Just use Google Translate:http://translate.google.com/translate?js=y&prev=_t&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&u=http%3A%2F%2Fsmallgarage.gun-gun.net%2F64%2F2008%2F10%2Fkyosho-164-ferrari-365-gts4.php&sl=ja&tl=en&history_state0=That form on the bottom is simply a comments page: the website looks more like a blog for model cars than anything. What requisition form did you fill out?As for learning the language: children will pick up anything really fast. So what seems complex to you was simply learning-as-a-kid for them. Think about it: if learning and memorizing thousands of characters were really all about intelligence and brainpower, how come many Chinese and Japanese immigrants have trouble learning and mastering English, with its only 26 letters? Adults simply have a much harder time picking up other languages - of course, there are many people out there who are hardwired to pick up languages rapidly. Kavinsky
Yeah, the hong kong location has put me off on many of the ebay cars, I guess if money is not an issue this is probably the best one that I've found in the states, mind you for that price you could get one of the kyosho 1/18'shttp://cgi.ebay.com/1-43-Make-Up-Ferrari-Testarossa-1984-White-Miniwerks_W0QQitemZ280388007868QQcmdZViewItemQQptZDiecast_Vehicles?hash=item41486d77bc&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14or you could just paint one of the red ones white like someone did on the diecast forums with a kyosho 1/18 testa' http://www.diecastxchange.com/forum1/topic/50925-ferrari-testarossa-118-vs-11/page__p__645170__hl__white%20testarossa__fromsearch__1entry645170ed so far this is the cheapest of the Ixos I've found thats not too far away.http://cgi.ebay.com/IXO-Ferrari-Testarossa-1984-1-43-Scale-Red_W0QQitemZ330266440406QQcmdZViewItemQQptZDiecast_Vehicles?hash=item4ce569f2d6&_trksid=p3286.m20.l1116
Kavinsky
nevermind sorry I got abit carried away here, I'm still thinking about getting one really nice testa' or daytona model for my collection, either a 1/43 or a 1/18 but...After looking over the ixo testa, the hot wheels elite testarossa and there daytona spyder (one of which I own, the details not too good but the overal shape is)I've just come to the conclusion that the best testarossa would be a repainted kyosho testarossa like this onehttp://www.diecastxchange.com/forum1/topic/50925-ferrari-testarossa-118-vs-11/page__p__645260__hl__1:1%20testarossa__fromsearch__1entry645260of course though the imagines have expired so heres a shot of there stock red one, an 84' style one similar to like crockettsnow I just have to figure out what collor I want to respray it in, black metallic or white?by the way heres what the other three that I considered look likeDaytonaHot wheels elite testarossa, for that price I want a hell of a lot more detailIxo 1/43 testarossa

Kavinsky
unfortunately it doesn't look like it's going to happen, I think in all honestly the vltor bren ten project is dead.but I did find an alternative to it on the bren ten forums that just needs a stainless frame and its there, so its either thishttp://www.gunbroker.com/Auction/ViewItem.aspx?Item=210668204or the bren ten airsoft pistol for me, if I can ever find one. Kavinsky
Just an update, like the bren itself it never showed up, lost in the mail and I lost contact with the seller who said he had two others, so in a way unless I can contact that guy again just like the bren it was a promise never delivered.which really sucks I was REALLY looking forward to getting my hands on it, I like the testarossa and the white color mixed with the black accents is growing on me even if it only looks stunning from 3 angles and okay from the last one, basically it was the only model I was really looking forward to, I guess if that blue minichamps miura shows up I oughta go for that as a replacement:even thought I've got a 1:18 kyosho one from here, would have gone for green but they ran out just as I placed the order.http://www.tomotorsports.com/catalog/product_info.php?products_id=6267&osCsid=68cc57f81df48d72e15599bb92413b8dor the minichamps sport quattro which is a true matcho machinestill I would have really liked to have the testarossa thoughactually I may have just had a happy accident after finding the above photo, anyone speak japanese?http://www.amazon.co.jp/IXO-Ferrari-Testarossa-White-1984/dp/B003KM7FCQnevermind cant be sold outside of japan, wonder if thats a temporary state of affairs though because of the disaster?
