(or any time of the year for that matter...Santa doesn't need another naughty list!)"Halloween 'dummy' was a dead body"LOS ANGELES–The body of a 75-year-old man sat decomposing on his Marina del Rey balcony for days because neighbours thought the lifeless figure was part of a Halloween display and didn't call police.Mostafa Mahmoud Zayed had apparently been dead since Monday of a self-inflicted gunshot to one eye. He was slumped over a chair outside his third-floor apartment, said Austin Raishbrook of RMG News, who was on the scene Thursday when the discovery was made.Neighbours told Raishbrook they noticed the body three days earlier "but didn't bother calling authorities because it looked like a Halloween dummy," he said."The body was in plain view of the entire apartment complex – they all didn't do anything," Raishbrook said. "It's very strange. It did look unreal, to be honest.""I just knew him to say hello and he was sweet and gentle," neighbour Patricia Kingery said of Zayed.Earl Kepler, a visitor to the area, said the complex seemed "a little lonely" and he wasn't surprised to hear the dead man went unnoticed.Oh well one less door to knock on this year...So looking forward to more tootsie roll pops too!
