daytona365
GOTCHA!!!!! 4950 Pine Tree Drive. It's a private mansion! The water was the crucial clue. After I knew this, it took about two hours to find it. @Tom, check out how close this comes to our sketch!!! Just 2 hours after I found out it´s on a waterway, you steal my thunder and pass me over - I was just in Coconut Grove moving up north, when you hit it! Great job and great teamwork! And a huge argument for proper scrutiny of scenes. It was just today I found the waterway clue after having dissected that scene 1000 times already. And I am very happy that our sketch was accurate, even if it was incomplete (no waterway)! I have to look at the pictures now in order to understand what has changed since then or has been renovated as some parts look different than on TV. At least vegetation is lost, as it was quite a jungle between the pool and the waterway.
Tom
Now it hit me @daytona365 That house was the Pedrosa villa in Heroes of the Revolution.....! We knew this location already but did not recognize it... Edited October 19, 2020 by Tom
Tom
Some more pics that represent well what we see in the episode including an exact copy of the view of the rally room with the strange table and the stairs outside.
Tom
A few interesting differences between then (1986) and now. Most prominent is the much higher vegetation on the property especially around the smaller house behind the pool, vegetation behind Crockett and Tubbs is missing now and the building extension that has been coming close to the pool´s right side (where there was nothing close to the pool in the episode) and behind the small pool house that is barely visible now from above.
TylerDurden389
I'm curious, do you guys live around Miami and do all these shooting location hunts yourself, or is it all google map/searches?
Tom
None of us lives in Miami as far as I know. I did but that was long time ago. But many of us have been in Miami many times. Most of our research is remote work via Google as satellite search is more efficient and powerful as onsite research ever could be.
miamijimf
A lot of the early research was done with shoe leather by a resident and a sleuth who lived nearby. A small amount is still done on the ground but most these days is done with satellite search since it has improved. A few of us still visit Miami several times a year.
Tom
beautiful waterfront picture of Angela Paison´s home from that episode. The house has not been on the market for a long time, thus we have no interior pictures on the internet. Tom
wonderful wide-view (click on them to view in full size) interior and aerial pics of the Pierce rally house and Pedrosa´s house in Heroes of the revolution, including some angles we have not seen before Edited April 29, 2021 by Tom
Tom
very rare pic from 1987 or 1988, right after the South Pointe Tower was finalized that was used in Love at first sight and Vote of Confidence. What is special: in this picture we see the South Pointe theater (white building) between South Pointe Tower and Smith and Wollensky restaurant (also built around that time and still there) that was used for the rally conference scenes in Vote of confidence but torn down years later. As far as I know this picture is the only photo proof of that location. P.S. Fisher Island in the background is still green and mostly undeveloped.
Tom
That’s the site where the South Pointe Theater once stood. In the background is the South Pointe Tower, on the far right the western wall of the Smith and Wollensky restaurant, built in 1987. pictures taken today.

Tom
The only partial glimpse on the gone South Pointe Theater (turquoise arrow) we get in 3rd season´s "The Savage"/aka Duty and Honor (filmed December 1986) with the South Pointe Tower still under construction in the background (blue arrow) and used later that year after its completion in Love at first sight (video dating service) and this episode (Pierce HQ). The pink arrow indicates the white tent next to the theater that was used for outdoor events at that time. Historic aerial from 1986 with a red X marking the spot where the scene in The Savage was filmed. Edited October 15, 2022 by Tom

Matt5
A current day view of Portofino Tower (1994) and South Pointe Tower (left) at 400 South Pointe Dr built in 1987 and first appeared in Season 4s “Love at First Sight” in the fall of 1987. We also see this stretch of water looking to Fisher Island in “Duty and Honor” aka The Savage. Edited January 9, 2023 by Matt5
airtommy
New Location Found The exterior setup shot of Pierce’s office: This was the old Kennedy Space Center Headquarters in Cape Canaveral, Florida. It was demolished a few years ago. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/KSC_Headquarters_Building Camera shot is looking southeast:

The building is still on Google Street view that still shows Feb 2012 state.
Tom
Bing has sharp 2006 3D views of the South Pointe Theater before it was razed in 2007. For some reason, many MV landmarks were destroyed exactly in 2007 before the Google Street View started. At least we have now clear images of these long gone locations.
Tom
Here is a rare close up of the South Pointe Theater, taken apparently from the newly arising South Pointe Tower (it was in raw construction in 1986 as seen behind Castillo in The Savage filmed in Dec 1986). As Smith&Wollensky (also built in 1986 on the grounds of a former similarly looking restaurant) is seen as fundament only, this would put this pic exactly to late 1986. The white "tent" on the right of S&M and behind the Theater is also seen in The Savage.
