I got books, perfume, Wii game, a few bottles of wine, some money (which will go towards my 2010 California trip), several DVDs including Eddie Izzard's recent stand-up performance. Unfortunately my family didn't take the hint that I wanted Burn Notice Season One but when they asked me last night what I want for my birthday I said it loud and clear :)

As far as dying on a Religious Holiday.....for the people left behind....the joy is ruined.......but for the deceased, imagine celebrating Christmas in Heaven with God? WOW!!

I bought "Public Enemies" on DVD with a gift card from work which was a disappointment for me. See the my post in the Public Enemies thread for more on that.I also bought a "Porter Cable" 18V drill and saw combo to replace the 10 year old ones I had. Silly thing is the drill and saw are still good, it's the batteries that are shot. Problem is it costs just as much to replace two batteries as it does to buy a whole new set. :confused:Santa also gave me a new mop for my tile floors. :)I don't usually splurge on Christmas for myself as I buy what I need through out the year. Last month I bought an AC recovery machine to recover refrigerant from AC systems which I used on mine to install a "heat recovery system". It ties in between your AC system and your hot water heater. It gives you free hot water when you run your AC system so that will save me money in the long run. That was really my big purchase Santa "gave" me but it was a little pre-Christmas.

A couple of movies, some new flannel shirts to get me through the cold New Jersey / Canadian winter. ;) It's gotten to the point of not knowing what to buy anyone anymore and nobody knows what to buy me since we usually just buy whatever we want or need throughout the year. It's no fun if you have to ask for things and then try to act surprised on Christmas morning. For the past few years now Christmas has been all about my Grandson. He's 5 and it's fun to see Christmas through a child's eyes again.

I primarily got a cheque from my parents and other gifts such as dvds/blu rays etc .I got the Public Enemies too , okay but nothing special , when you compare it to Michael Mann's other classics such as Heat and Collateral. His films are almost film - noir now and Public Enemies featured a lot of hand held video with almost all the movie in darkness.Happy Holidays all.:D

I got a GPS from my daughter, which I may return.....I look at a map for new places and the GPS seems to be a distraction while I'm driving. I feel bad because I don't want to hurt her feelings. :o :cry:She also gave me PJs & a coffee mug.

Let's see, what did I get this year?I couldn't have Christmas with my Mother as she wasn't feeling well, so I'll have Christmas with her next week, but as for other family members, I got mostly what I wanted....GIFT CARDS!I got a Macy's gift card (been saving them up for a year, now I have about $100 worth of Macy's gift cards). I might buy the newest retro RAY BAN WAYFARERS that are patterened after the 80's version, but only slightly different from the 80's version, but made with the superior materials that are now being used. I got $75 worth of ebay gift cards, a Burger King gift card, and a VISA gift card. I also got the james bond movie Casino Royale on DVD, along with Toy Story 2 on DVD, and a STAR WARS book. Oh, also some See's candy. I might get cash when I have Christmas with my mother and Aunt. :thumbsup:So, .....what did YOU get for Christmas??

we usually just buy whatever we want or need throughout the year.

Unfortunately, I don't look forward to the holidays anymore...This is how I compensate...
