Such a shame...I loved tha car but hated the movie. I am a big John Candy fan too!I did not like the way they treated the car in the flick either as some of the shots were very hard on the suspension of that car! I bet it had a few cracks in the body after the filming was done???On another note...I just picked up "The Gumball Ralley" in the "cheap bin" at the video store for 5 bucks!!! Now that is a REAL DAYTONA for sure!My favourite line is when he tears off the rearview mirror and says it doesn't matter what is behind you becasue you are going so fast your passing everything else (or something to that effect?)Funny movie. (oh...and I am a big fan of the Cobra as well.)

Well the weird thing about it is that it may or may not be the true MV Daytona. When they were making up the Testarossa stunt car for season 3 the first car Carl Roberts tried using for it was the first daytona replica, the stunt car (the only confirmed survivor, one of two used in the show is car 4, the camera car)http://www.priceofaddiction.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=17&Itemid=32and after it was obvious it wasnt going to work he left the body pannels off and put the rest into storage and its never been seen since then. (along with the Pantera that was used as the stunt car after the show ended, it was stowed away in a property Carl lost)then he apparently put those body pannels on another corvette which was the one used herestill even if that it is true, it was the body of FIRST daytona replica ever made, and should have been treated with far more respectEingefügtes Bildnote how its got a different steering wheel from the one in MV at 7:18http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7KcWmmT-zp4&feature=relatedand that the mirrors are a different size on it at 6:39http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VrwvLi8Lc1s&feature=relatedthe speed zone one was found then sold to the volo musiem and then put up for sale by them and still is to my knowledge http://www.vetteweb.com/features/vemp_0611_miami_vice_ferrari/index.htmlhttp://www.volocars.com/attractions-hollywood.htmhttp://www.volocars.com/1973-ferrari-daytona-from-miami-vice-c-670.htmby the way thanks to Jurrasic Narc for all this info, I learned all this from him.I used to watch the gumball rally just for the cobra, now I watch it for both of them now that I have an apprication for the geniunie article thanks to the mv one
