All shown on BBC1 per Guardian newspaper TV listings (digital archive): SEASON 1 Pilot - Mon Feb 4th, 1985 - 9.25pm (Interestingly the Pilot aired in the UK on a Monday, then started to show usual slot on the Tuesday) Heart of Darkness - (my guess as Guardian digital archive has missing edition) - Tue Feb 12th, 1985 - 9.25pm Cool Runnin - Tue Feb 19th, 1985 - 9.25pm Hit List - Tue Feb 26th, 1985 - 9.25pm Calderone's Demise - Tue Mar 12th, 1985 - 9.25pm One-Eyed Jack - Tue Mar 19th, 1985 - 9.35pm (the usual slot of 9.25pm was taken by a 10 minute show on the Budget with the Chancellor!) (Tue Mar 26th, 1985 - no show as International Boxing at 9.25pm with Barry McGuigan fighting, followed by highlights from last night's Oscars!) No Exit - Tue Apr 2nd, 1985 - 9.35pm (9pm was a 10 minute slot for a Party Political broadcast by the Labour party which delayed the 9 o'clock news and then also MV!) The Great McCarthy - Tue Apr 9th, 1985 - 9.25pm Glades - Tue Apr 16th, 1985 - 9.25pm (Tue Apr 23rd, 1985 - no show due to International Snooker qtr-finals at 9.25pm from the Crucible!) Give a Little, Take a Little - Tue Apr 30th, 1985 - 9.30pm (5min delay due to another Party Political broadcast at 9pm, this time by the Conservatives!) (Tue May 7th, 1985 - no show due to a Newsnight Special on D-Day!) Little Prince - Tue May 14th, 1985 - 9.25pm The Milk Run - Tue May 21st, 1985 - 9.25pm Score - Tue May 28th, 1985 - 9.25pm Golden Triangle - Tue Jun 4th, 1985 - 9.25pm Smuggler's Blues - Tue Jun 11th, 1985 - 9.25pm Rites of Passage - Tue Jun 18th, 1985 - 9.25pm The Maze - Thurs Jun 27th, 1985 - 9.25pm (changed from usual Tues slot to try to lure viewers away from ITV's 'TV Eye' at 9.30pm, and also because of the Wimbledon highlights on Tues evening!) Made for Eachother - Thurs Jul 4th, 1985 - 9.25pm (again changed from usual Tues slot to try to lure viewers away from ITV's 'TV Eye' at 9.30pm it seems) The Home Invaders - Thurs Jul 11th, 1985 - 10.05pm (the usual slot of 9.25pm was taken by Crimewatch UK!) Nobody Lives Forever - Thurs Jul 18th, 1985 - 9.25pm Evan - Thurs Jul 18th, 1985 - 9.25pm Lombard - Thurs Jul 25th, 1985 - 9.25pm Anyhow I'll look to update this shortly... if you want any other info then make a note in the thread - alternatively if we have this info elsewhere already (?) then let me know. I wanted to upload the jpeg's of the listings themselves - no end of amusement and memories of other TV shows on there... the Brits here will appreciate I'm sure...:D They also show some Regional Variations where MV was on at different times - notably in Wales it must have been too shocking so they tended to show it much later, typically after 11pm on a Thursday(!)

SEASON 2 This Season seems to start later than Season 1 in the UK - perhaps there were a few complaints from some viewers about it being shown too early? After all, this was the UK in the 80's(!) Phil the Shill - Tue Apr 8th, 1986 - 10.00pm (Season 2 pilot aired later in the Season in the UK - see below) Out Where the Buses Don't Run - Tue Apr 15th, 1986 - 10.00pm The Dutch Oven - Tue Apr 22nd, 1986 - 10.00pm Buddies - Tue Apr 29th, 1986 - 10.00pm Junk Love - Tue May 6th, 1986 - 10.05pm (5min delay due to a Party Political broadcast at 9pm, this time by the SDP/Liberals!) Tale of the Goat - Tue May 13th, 1986 - 10.00pm Bushido - Tue May 20th, 1986 - 9.55pm Bought and Paid For - Tue Jun 17th, 1986 - 10.00pm Back in the World - Tue Jun 24th, 1986 - 10.00pm Whatever Works - Tue Jul 1st, 1986 - 10.00pm Definitely Miami - Tue Jul 8th, 1986 - 10.00pm Yankee Dollar - Tue Jul 15th, 1986 - 10.00pm (then we have what looks like a whole year without any MV in the UK ! DJ appears on Wogan, one or two DJ movies like the Long Hot Summer, but no MV at all - until, (as Papa Legba correctly mentioned earlier in fact)...) Prodigal Son - Sat Jul 18th, 1987 - 10.20pm (first time in the UK that MV airs on a Saturday it seems? And this new slot continues in fact for the next few weeks) One Way Ticket - Sat Jul 25th, 1987 - 10.25pm Florence Italy - Sat Aug 1st, 1987 - 10.05pm French Twist - Sat Aug 8th, 1987 - 10.00pm The Fix - Sat Aug 15th, 1987 - 10.05pm Payback - Sat Aug 22nd, 1987 - 10.00pm (next two weeks no show as looks like we have the World Athletics Championships from Rome interrupting the usual schedules!) Free Verse - Sat Sep 12th, 1987 - 10.45pm Sons and Lovers - Sat Oct 3rd, 1987 - 11.15pm (this looks like the latest MV start time in the UK so far, barring some regional variations in Wales) Eps not shown on the original BBC run: Trust Fund Pirates & Little Miss Dangerous - these were shelved after the Hungerford massacre.

I always thought that the Tuesday night airing was perfect. It was one of the days when people were least likely to be out in the evening. I'm guessing that your next list will start with "the Prodigal Son", shown on a certain Saturday night in July 1987?

Great insight into the past' date=' thanks for posting these :)[/quote'] For me too actually - I think I only caught snippets of the original airings for Seasons 1 & 2 - what I recall is the 10.10pm start for many Season 3 eps onwards after Panorama - although it never did start at 10.10 - Panorama almost always over-ran so that most of the time I think MV started about 10.15 - anyhow I will get to Season 3 timings perhaps tomorrow.

Then hopefully do a similar thread for Seasons 3 to 5. If you compare the original US screening dates to the UK ones however, you can already see that the UK experience was a little more 'intense' - spread over fewer months in the UK.

From the DVD's, Season 2 is rated 15 throughout, Season 1 is a mixture of 12, 15 and 18, the 18 rated disc being the one with the Golden Triangle double on.

SEASON 2 So far I'm not seeing Trust Fund Pirates or Little Miss Dangerous??? Can anyone confirm/deny seeing this broadcast on the BBC back then?

They were never shown, Mate. They were shelved after the Hungerford Massacre.
