ViceFanMan
Yeah, there are vintage postcards and brochures of The Blue Waters Hotel from its heyday, in the 40s and 50s, On eBay and other online sites. I have several of the postcards.
ZAQ 178
I dug these up but some are repeats of ones already posted but still cool to see. The first one is from The Maze & second is what it currently looks like. The rest is just throwback stuff which really peaks my interest. The B/W photo is the filled in delapitated swimming pool area. Sad! 3
ViceFanMan
I have the vintage postcards! Found them on eBay at different times. The present day pic looks different than another “present” day photo of where the Blue Waters used to stand I’ve seen...what I saw a few years ago was a tall high rise condominium building?? The black n white old news photo of The Blue Waters before it was demolished, shows the dilapidated swimming area...but I think the old pool was just full of garbage & overgrowth, and not necessarily filled in. Awesome photos! Edited March 18, 2018 by ViceFanMan
ZAQ 178
I thought the after photo looks a bit different too. I think that Blue Waters may have spanned that whole block? Maybe we are seeing just the end of that block is where the 2 car parking spots are?
ZAQ 178
This is right off a google maps and it shows the whole block ad it is now. It was at the corner of Ocean Ter & 74th st.
ViceFanMan
Yeah...that makes more sense...I think that tall high rise condo building is actually where the Blue Waters originally was. You’re all WAY ahead of me after seeing this thread lol. Still some cool history there and I hate that all these old buildings get torn down instead of keeping the style & renovating them. Very sad. Just great

Really nice - I visit this Street, Ocean Terrace in North Miami Beach, most years and it looks nothing like this anymore - a real shame

Matt5
As it was on Ocean Terrace in North Beach last January, the tallest building is on the site of the former Blue Waters Hotel seen in Miami Vice.

Yes, that was a promotional 1954 postcard of Lottie Binz & The Blue Waters. I believe she owned several Miami hotels back in the day, including Blue Waters. I’ve read before she had a pet poodle that lots of times was with her wherever she went.

Well [she] treats it like it was [her] little boa” Anyone?
