miamijimf
The historic bar Tobacco Road seen in Bad Timing is gone but work on a new bar called Tobacco Road with some of the original bar's furnishings is almost completed. It will open in January and will be close to the old location, 69 S.W. 7th Street Miami at what was the City Electric Supply on 7th Street. There will also be a duplicate bar on a cruise ship. Here are two photos of the new bar. I hope it will be a success, it's much better than no Tobacco Road at all. Remember the interior Bad Timing bar scene was filmed at Gator Kicks Longneck Saloon (long gone).click for larger images. C Glide
It is gone but not forgotten. IMO The new bar looks like a modern crap dream like dozens of others. Tobacco Rd was unique.
Matt5
Nice info Jim - Vice only filmed at Gator Kicks ( internally ) once during the series didnt they ?! The interior of that bar from "Bad Timing" looked a lot like the bar seen in No Exit however

There's a lot of detail there I know but a nice location as it's the first time we have seen actual pics of that location . I enjoy doing it Some recreations - some different angles - in fact the last picture shows where Scotty was on his lawnmower in the episode Edited February 19, 2017 by Matt5

Matt5
I know I posted the two houses we see in this episode two years ago but walked through this neighbourhood again recently just off Main Highway, South Coconut Grove. This shot is of both houses we see in the episode 4020 and 4001 Hardie Avenue from outside 4020. Edited March 1, 2019 by Matt5
C Glide
Just updated this ep on my location site. Bunches of new re-creation pictures, some have been waiting a couple years to be added.
Matt5
Nice angle and similar view we see in “Bad Timing” of Tobacco Road and these buildings taken before the Bank of America Tower was finished (1986) from S Miami and SW 7th St.
Tom
INTERIOR LOCATION PICS FOR SCOTTY´S HOUSE 4001 Hardie Ave I just saw that @C Glide had no interior pics available when he posted this episode. I found around 50 quite new ones from 2 WEEKS AGO (17 July 2020) when this house was sold and was able to track one of the two scenes filmed internally. https://www.redfin.com/FL/Miami/4001-Hardie-Ave-33133/home/42754853 1. Boy comes in and sees his mother (filmed in the dining room, camera looking inside, the boy looks to the living room This was filmed in the dining room. The boy comes in in from the right and runs towards the camera and there is a unique white pole from the ceiling to the floor. It is still there as is the book shelf between the door and the kitchen. The living room with its significantly shaped window from outside. 2. Miriam tied up, exact location unknown with the 50 pics I had, it was not possible to locate this exactly. My best guess from the lightning of this scene is that they filmed from outside the house or terrace looking inside through the squared shaped window frames, but I have not found the significant glass door pattern on the right and the window behind on the other side on any of the remaining pictures for an exact match. Maybe one of you has more luck? ENJOY. Edited July 30, 2020 by Tom
Tom
THE SHRINK PRACTICE unknown still, but 90% studio set. See the second picture which is very suspicious as a set with the interrupted, separately angled wall parts. I never seen something like this in a real house. Bit overdone and too "vicey" (all other shrink scenes eg in Miami Squeeze were studio). Also 4020 Hardie Ave (Docs house, the only modern house in that episode and built in 1988) does not have any of these on 30+ interior pictures). I doubt that they used a completely different onsite location in this episode for these scenes when they clustered all other locations perfeclty in this episode.

airtommy
In the 1985 film "The Mean Season", we see the bar Tobacco Road (with Miami Avenue bridge construction in the background), similar to what we see in "Bad Timing:
Tom
Miami Ave bridge then (October 1988) and now. Bank of America tower (middle and top-right of picture respectively) is the same (built 1986), all other highrises new.
