I have been ashamed to be English...until today when we actually WON against Slovenia. Through to the next round with the U.S! We were sat here with our nibbles & flags....shouting at the screen...i am, naturally, an armchair pundit! lolAs you can see Jemima got into the spirit of things...we believe that Gerrard & DeFoe are legends & i have a soft spot for Heskey..much to my 16 year old sons disgust! lolNext match Sunday at 3pm.I have to look away its too awful!Ooops...too much excitement! I read that the English players are better than the U.S. players, but the U.S. goalie is better than the English goalie. Pandina Posted June 24, 2010 Report Share Posted June 24, 2010 As you all can imagine, here people are going crazy about the World Cup, but the Italian team sucks!!! :thumbsdown:We had started the same (bad) way in 2006 when we won, but 4 years later the situation is different. Many of the 2006 players have been left at home, the team seems to lack cohesion, it's evident that this bunch of people hasn't really achieved the necessary skills to play as a team and not as individuals.Personally these are the things I like about World Cup so far:- M&M's Peanuts limited edition: a bag of classic M&M's in colours green, white and red, but I can't eat them anyway, so I don't really care.- Flags everywhere: it's a touch of colour in a hopelessly grey town.- French team being eliminated: they stole the qualification from Ireland and what goes around comes around.and of course the Jemima pictures! England only has to be proud to have such an adorable supporter! In effect, this guy is an affirmative action hire. It's possible he was bribed or had personal animosity towards USA, but it's also likely that he's incompetent.
