Buddha something restaurant? In this cut they're turning right from 123rd St westbound onto Biscayne Blvd northbound. I can't figure out what the cursive sign says. It looks like "Loews" but I don't think that's right.
miamijimf
Lowe's Home Improvement stores are all over Fla. There is one in Miami at 9191 SW 137th Ave but it doesn't look like a sign on a home improvement store. There is a Loews Hotel at 1601 Collins Ave, Miami Beach

This was a small business where there is now a Vitamin Shoppe on the corner of 123rd and Biscayne. It doesn't really matter since I've pinpointed the location of this cut, just curious since the sign is almost clearly visible.
airtommy
In between when Tubbs pulls out on SE 1st St and when he pulls over on the bridge, there are 8 cuts. The first cut is probably still on SE 1st going east. The second cut is when he looks into his mirror the first time. We see quite a bit: At the top we see from left to right "---intino" , in red and blue "---- ---- Motel", and a Holiday Inn sign. Bottom left looks like a big green street sign, like they're near a major intersection. The road seems to bend to the right. airtommy
Found the Holiday Inn! 12210 Biscayne Blvd https://www.yelp.com/biz/holiday-inn-north-miami That's on the west side of the road, so it means they are driving north in cut 2. Very interesting - it’s the same hotel we see in the bg behind Crockett as he’s on the payphone outside the studio in Season 5s “Victims of Circumstance” - the hotel still stands today but not a Holiday Inn. Great work. Edited March 27, 2019 by Matt5

Really nice -so they turn right from 123rd St onto Biscayne Northhbound past the Vitamin Shoppe. I’ve highlighted the Vitamin shoppe (Golden Buddha), the Holiday Inn and the building we see in “French Twist” later in the 2nd Season when Tubbs pulls out onto Biscayne.
airtommy
cut 6 (the turn where you see Golden Buddha), look at the building on the bottom left: same building seen in French Twist as Tubbs drives alone in the Caddy: Edited March 28, 2019 by airtommy

Yes, I think those two are certain. cut 2 = northbound on Biscayne at about 122nd cut 6 = right turn from 123rd west onto Biscayne north In cut 3, you see these concrete construction barriers as Tubbs turns right. They're in the turn. That tells me they aren't from an actual construction site. They are there to block off the road for this filming shoot. I can't nail down anything else. I suspect cut 3 is turning right from Biscayne north onto 123rd east and cut 4 is 123rd east. In cut 4 you see this building, which I suspect has been demolished.

Matt5
Miami Vice shot several scenes north of Miami for this summer 1985 episode in Fort Lauderdale. The marina used was the Las Olas Marina which afforded a great view of the Las Olas drawbridge and Intracoastal Waterway. The small marina is still there today and is located a few blocks off the beachfront on Las Olas Cir. Here it is when I was in Fort Lauderdale in June 2022.
