Halfway through this ep, we see Trudy on the street corner with the other hookers.  CGlide reports: "Then we hit the streets again. Trudy is on the east side of Washington Avenue just north of 10th Street."  http://www.miamivicelocations3.org/page20.html

This was one of those tricky scenes.  Some of the clips were indeed filmed at Washington Ave & 10th, such as when the pimp parks, Switek drives up, and Tubbs drives up.  However, the sidewalk clips were filmed at an entirely different intersection: Collins & 8th.  The hookers were standing in front of what is now Armani Exchange at 760 Collins Ave.  The pink building down the street is now a white Banana Republic:

Thats great work - I wonder why ? it always looked a little different this corner - of course we saw a bit of the Armani Exchange building in the Pilot also

Idk if it's still in there, but there was some great Art Deco painting that covered the wall by the stairs in that Bananan Repblic bldg.

Oh, that's what it was!  When I saw Armani Exchange on Google Streetview, it seemed familiar.  I think CGlide posted that as a trivia question once.

Definately outside Armani Exchange looking North on Collins this scene ( Collins and 8th ) However when Tubbs pulls up it looks like he is back on Washington Ave ?!

There is a distinctive triangular shaped roof small house/ building behind Tubbs as he chats to Trudie ( as Trudie on Collins and 8th ) 

I wonder if this is it but renovated its not 1050 Washington but on 10th between the Smithsonian and the other scenes filmed on 10th/Washington for the episode? !

The 1000 block of Washington was featured extensively in this fall 1986 episode - particularly in the teaser and ended here also. Here are a couple of shots from 2013 when I visited this location - I posted these after watching this episode last nite.

LOCATION VERIFICATION: MAYFLOWER MOTEL STAIRCASE

As @C Glide suspected, the staircase where Silk pushes Roxanne along (supposedly into the Mayflower Motel) is at 1478 Collins Court, that is the rear of the Nassau Suite Hotel at 1414 Collins Ave.(same hotel as in Hit List where Tubbs nearly caught the Argentinian hitman.

I carefully compared the staircase with reality and it matches, but they closed the staircase on the street level and made the side window a bit smaller, but the double railings, the small window and where it starts and the staircase itself matches fully.

The interior of the Mayflower looks like a real motel with room number 7 and real opposite doors (usually not the case with studio sets), also the outside of the glass brick window seems real, but this is no match with the Nassau Suite Hotel as there is no glass brick window anywhere. Also near the hotel no match.

Thanks for supporting! Especially for the picture. You must have heard my cursing as Google is missing exactly the clear view of the staircase but has sideviews only. 
Meanwhile I tend to believe that the Mayflower interior was a set. I could not find any curved glass brick wall (if it is real what we see on TV than it must be visible from outside) and they often used these walls in studio sets (OCB, apartments,...).

This is the honorable summary of THE holy grail of location sleuthing we cracked as a team many years ago and took us 3+ years to find.

RAMROD MOTEL 56 Washington Ave,  UNKNOWN APARTMENT COMPLEX 41-47 Washington Ave

The Ramrod Motel and (vis a vis) Romano´s flat. Both buildings on 100 block of Washington Ave are long gone. Sadly enough there is no single good vintage frontal picture of either of them except in this episode! The Ramrod was in reality the St. David Court apartment hotel which was one of the oldest buildings in Miami Beach, built and owned by a Jewish couple (Pepi and David Granat) in the 1920s, served first as a synagoge before the first synagoge was built in SoBe and was finally torn down and replaced after this 1986 episode by a parking lot! No respect whatsoever of old architectural heritage as in the Senator case.

because it became a myth due to its mystery and was nearly impossible to find, as there was not much to see in the episode and both buildings were abandoned, no pics on the internet and next to each other (but all of that we did not know and would have never suspected).

The key issue with mystery locations is: if it has been razed, you have to use historic aerials and this is only doable for small areas you have specific hunches for, not for large areas (these aerials are black/white, quite small and often blurry). Thus, if you have no idea where to look, you are doomed.

If you have a lot of spare time you can browse through the early part of the Group effort location thread to follow our conclusions. First we had a lead for Hialeah and searched there and then we somehow came onto the apartment building via its house number and then CGlide accidentally noticed the corner in the background of the shooting in front of Romano´s house that matched with Tubbs´ quarterback tackle scene and therefore revealed that the Ramrod was just vis a vis and they smartly filmed around that fact to conceal it.

Gotcha. The “search/find” was the holy grail. I was thinking of the “location”.  You guys are really amazing. 

The party house from “Rites of Passage” is my favorite find so far, I think (on “locations”).
