Tom
Great episode - but when I went on Jeremy's site just so many locations from this episode unknown . Must be one of the most unknown locations of any episode. Yes, lots of locations unknown in this ep. Funny that you mention that as I watched this ep after a long time yesterday to go over the unknown locations again, mainly the houses of the ladies Crockett is meeting with, Foxy Boxers and one murder scene. The only hint of the unknown locs is the number on Lois villa, which is 850x. Unfortunately that is not enough to track it down. I fear that these nuts are too hard to crack.

Yes Tom I watched the same day as you - there are not many clues in the homes except a street sign in one which is too far away to make any sense of you - it suprised me how many locations were unknown - must be highest number for any episode.Crocketts home is almost certainly on Park Lane in Coconuy Grove next door to 3665 used in the Wedding episode - but that house has been modified since 1987. airtommy
The windows don't have bars any more, so the neighborhood must have improved. Looks like this is part of the Hollywood Walk of Fame. One more thing I just noticed. I was trying to find Hal's Gem last night and there is a unique pattern going horizontally across the building. The pattern in your photo exactly matches the pattern we see at Hal's Gem. Maybe you could walk around that area and look around for something that matches Hal's. Unfortunately, we don't have many details to match up. Does anybody get why the term "gem" is on a bar? Is that some kind of slang?

Very interesting - you are right about the distinctive pattern which shows clearly on my photo today... Hal’s appears to be a single level building doesn’t it?! ... Gem never heard of or seen- unless it’s connected to the Latin Medical Place next door.. The design may be seen on Hollywood Bvld somewhere on a single level building Edited March 23, 2018 by Matt5
Matt5
I’m not sure if it’s the lighting in the ‘Hal’s’ picture or if this is a single level building ? I’m thinking Hollywood Bvld in Hollywood

Tom
What a difference between these pics! The 2014 look would have disqualified the house as MV location due to the yellowish-brown color scheme. Thank God they have painted it white since then. What I encountered in general when I was in Miami this March: all the Art Deco house colors are gone especially on Ocean Drive. Nearly all houses are just plain white. What a color communism! No way South Beach would have become that glitzy&famous if they had started MV nowadays. Everything is clean - yes. But also boring, profane and sterile. airtommy
The green neon sign on the right (cut off from my screenshot) says "cocktails", so this is definitely a bar. The unlit sign sticking out on the bottom right says "GEM". I really don't get this "gem"? Is this slang? The "Clinica Medica" and its phone number 461-2010 leads me nowhere. Tom
NEW LOCATIONS FOUND! House of Carol (you know the dildo specialist played by Lori Petty) and house of Tracy. Today gotta be my lucky day. I tried to find lots of unidentified 4th season locations, sat down with the DVDs, and started with Love at first sight, but no luck. I started with the area around SW85 Street where airtommy found Lois house. No house with fitting long shaped pool with columns on the road side and L-shaped outer walls next to a T-shaped intersection. Then, I watched the episode again and tried to suss out the street sign when Crockett drives Carol home. The sign is very small and blurry and seems to say "SW 78". There is a fitting intersection of SW78 Ave and SW127 Street and - you will not believe it- the FBI agent even mentions this address as one of the murder scenes during the Ward Brothers song! Usually they always use wrong addresses, but not this time! Also, my suspicion that Tracy´s home might be the same as Carol´s turned out true. Tracy´s home is only seen in one shot towards the entrance and this did not justify a new location use. Long story short: Carol´s home and Tracy´s home is 7777 SW 127 Street in the Pinecrest section of South Miami, far away from Lois´ villa. They really made a travel for this short scenes! I attached the photos of proof here. One is the shot where Crockett drops Tracy off. Another shows the walls, the pool, the significant stairs and the L-shaped murals from a similar angle like in VICE (they had a large crane based at the end of the pool which swung over the wall onto the street from there which I cannot simulate of course). House looks ok still, but the pool or the columns next to the pool were changed as well as the glass front facing the pool which seems smaller now. In the ep, columns were directly next to the pool with no space between and looked much higher. I also attach an air photo from Google that gives a good impression of the whole property and one that shows the main entrance (Tracy´s home) plus the pool/mural part next to it in the background to demonstrate how they made one location look like two houses.
