" data-date=" this mystery is still not solved. The exterior shot at 39:39 is definitely the same house that was used in "Free Verse" (I just looked at both DVDs).However, the poolside scene (34:28-36:36) looks different. At the beginning of the scene, Ned walks in.1. At the very beginning, it looks like Lummus Island (Port of Miami) behind him.2. As he walks along, the east elevation of MacArthur Causeway appears behind him.3. At 34:31, something pink flashed by VERY briefly (behind a palm tree and behind the causeway). I am wondering if perhaps this is Fisher Island?4. At 34:44, same pink building5. At 34:46, I think we see this building at the northern end of Terminal Isle (note the window pattern):[IMG">

I think I have solved this old mystery. I believe the house on the SE corner of Star Island used to film the pool and indoor scenes of the Specialist was 40 Star Island Drive, the same house used in Bad Boys. I found this screen cap from the Bad Boys section of C Glide's great site: I noticed that the window design is similar to the windows in the indoor scenes of The Specialist:It is also similar to the windows seen on Joe's house in this screencap from the pool scene in The Specialist:This screencap from The Specialist showing the pool and the small covered building with columns next to the pool match this overhead image of the pool area of 40 Star Island Drive: Next is an overhead image from Charlies site with a red arrow pointing to 40 Star Island where the scene from Bad Boys was filmed and an overhead image showing a larger area.Eingefügtes BildEingefügtes BildThis indicates that the MacArthur Causeway and the building at the northern end of Terminal Isle can be seen from 40 Star Is and logically are visible in the background of the pool scene from The Specialist as airtommy pointed out.

Cool. One of my favorite movies. It uses many locations and several bit part actors seem on Vice as well as a lot of neon. It indicates Vice's influence on the movie industry and was Stallone's highest grossing film of the 90s. It has some but doesn't rely on a ton of CGI and explosions like today's films.

It was stated here that the cemetery was a mystery. It would be to me also if it were not for Burn Notice. I believe if you watch 54 Hard Time or 60 Dead or Alive you will recognize the cemetery as the City of Miami Cemetery used in both of those episodes.

I am going to do a couple episodes each of Vice and Burn Notice before doing another movie. I have a few at the top of the list but I will wait till I am ready to start before deciding which of the three to do next. Each is from a different period of time.

One of my favorite scenes in this movie was when he steps out of his hideout at night and looks at the downtown skyline with the Metrorail going by.

The Miami Tower (in orange) is mostly blocked from view now by another skyscraper:

Such a beautifully shot film!  As silly of a movie as it is, I always enjoyed it.  Big Stallone fan, and James Woods is great as always.  A friend of mine worked as set security when they filmed the opening here in Tennessee.  He said James Woods was cool and would talk to everyone.  He said Stallone stayed in his trailer the whole time.  He said it was crazy watching Sly's stunt double jump off the dam.
