Hallandale/Hollywood area seems right to me but I had no time to take a closer look. Edited July 19, 2023 by Tom

The view from Tony's room might be at the hotel or might not. There is a funny jump between Tony coming out to the balcony, which by the wall color seems to be indeed the same hotel, and the view. When he comes out we can only see it blurred, and then it cuts to the frame you shared, but we can't tell if it is the same view. Either way, the Hollywood broadwalk elements are easily identifiable, and it's the question of matching up the palms, which might have changed a bit over the last 16 years. There are a couple of beach entrances around the hotel that could be it but don't quite match. The marina should be easy... but has been elusive so far. I'll scan more/again later. 2
Paul Veres
OK they fooled us a little because the marina is far from the hotel, it is in North Bay Village.
Paul Veres
There are actually 4 episodes with Miami in the Sopranos. Season 1, episode 9 - Boca Season 4, episode 4 - The Weight Season 4, episode 11 - Calling All Cars Season 6, episode 15 - Remember When I actually never really watched the show, but the Miami scene from The Weight is a favorite. Where Ralph almost gets wacked in the elevator because he made a poor joke about Johnny Sack's wife. So the question is in which hotel he is staying, and I think this one is actually interesting. And it might not even be Miami! It is a large oldish hotel, maybe the 70s or 80s? Whatever area is between the hotel and the ocean, it has these lights there: Note also how close the ocean is to the hotel. There is a very strong hint, in case you happen to know hotels - its logo resembling a shell, and I cannot make out the name on the elevator doors: For some reason there seem to be two versions though: And then there are... rocks at the water. Very unusual for Miami area... We also don't get to see a single palm tree anywhere, only some tropical plants in pots. So what do you guys think, Miami or nah? RedDragon86
Great info! @Paul Veres I was wondering in these scenes in Sopranos, do we see an episode in Miami Vice in these areas? Like a particular building etc. Edited July 20, 2023 by RedDragon86

Not sure if it was in MV, but wouldn't be surprised, a major location for films.

Hollywood Beach was only used once (Yankee Dollar) but not exactly the location used in the Sopranos. 1
airtommy
Moon Over Miami (1993 TV series) stars: Billy Campbell, Ally Walker This is a private detective show, but it's best described as a romantic comedy. It's a poor imitation of "Moonlighting". It only lasted for 13 episodes before being canceled. Every episode has at least one scene where they are walking around South Beach. It was fun to watch for a couple of weeks, but if there had been 100 episodes I would have quit watching after a while. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Moon_Over_Miami_(TV_series) https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0106069/ All 13 episodes: https://archive.org/search?query=subject%3A"Moon+Over+Miami" Stock footage from the show: https://sonypicturesstockfootage.com/search/48/moon over miami? The Walter Tatum Detective Agency office is located at 668 Collins Avenue. They filmed a few of the office exterior scenes there on location, but some office exteriors and all interiors were quite obviously filmed at a studio. airtommy
Karen Sisco (2003 TV series) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karen_Sisco https://www.tampabay.com/archive/2003/09/22/take-2-karen-sisco/ This TV show was adapted from the movie "Out of Sight". That movie was excellent, but the TV show is not as good. The first 3 episodes were partially filmed in Los Angeles, but largely in Miami. After that, they almost totally abandon Miami. In the early eps, you regularly see Ocean Drive because Karen Sisco's dad hangs out at the Casablanca Hotel at Ocean & 7th. His boat is docked on the southern tip of Dilido Island on the Venetian Causeway. The first ep ends at Jimbo's on Virginia Key: It's decently fun to watch even if you see more of Long Beach than South Beach. @Tommy Vercetti Edited January 23 by airtommy

Matt5
Love Aventura it has a quietness about it as it’s away from Miami Beach and just off the causeway. Miami Vice certainly liked this location too in Season 1 and 2. The best. Edited Saturday at 02:53 PM by Matt5
