I am very pleased to have found an outstandings website devoted to one of the best series in television history. My original interest in the show was sparked when I spotted that glorious black Ferrari 365 gts/4 on the premiere night on NBC. I have been an over the top Ferraristi since my high school days and nearly fainted when I saw my first Daytona coupe for real parked at a Wise Snack Office in Goffstown, New Hampshire. I had video taped many episodes of the series while it ran in syndication on the USA network. These have been since replaced by the complete box set of the show which I purchased new for a very modest $50.00 at Newbury Comics. After having reviewed the majority of postings, I would have to agree that the first two seasons were outstanding and that they began to lose their way, somewhat, in the third season. The show is a stand out IMHO due to the music ( Jan Hammer and select songs from the period), the great chemistry between DJ and PMT, great cinematography, filmed in Miami and of course the very cool cars and hot women who were on the show. No expense was spared in the production of many episodes. I had the opportunity to see Jan Hammer receive a lifetime achievement award from the Berklee School of Music where he had attended for one year. They did not play any vice tunes but the students performed a wicked rendition of "BLUE WIND" with a student on lead guitar strolling through the audience !! The majority of time I spend on youtube is devoted to playing the music from the show. Anyway, sorry for rambling on but I look to reading and commenting about the series. You folks have written a lot of interesting facts about the show and all things related to it. I only hope I can make quality contributions to the site.
