STILL TRYING TO FIX IMAGESThis is my outfit for prom. Though I'm well past college, I work at a small high school and was thinking of going. I got these items on eBay and there are only a few days left for me to order more or change the look. I'm new to vice culture so I was wondering if there was any critique of my choices, because I'm concerned that it's not original enough (that I've gone way too conservative), but I don't really have time to find something else. It's slim pickings on eBay and there are no stores around that would have anything. I don't want to rent a tux. I could buy a cheap one or try a different colored suit, but I think that if I don't feel comfortable with this, I just won't go. I know it's a bit casual, but that's why I went with the dress shirt (maybe it should be blue, or the jacket) instead of a t-shirt, so I could get a tie. No one will know that I'm Crockett, because it's a different generation, even though I look DJ, at least that's what a couple of friends told me.Sunglasses: will try to win a pair of black 5022s before it's too late.Tie: not sure what to get. Maybe just some cliche J Crew/Ralph Lauren with pink or aqua stripes/accents, but that's rather pitiful.Jacket (it's white, not cream):Eingefügtes BildShirt:Eingefügtes BildEingefügtes BildPants (haven't found white pants that fit yet; might have to go with white jeans):Eingefügtes BildShoes:Eingefügtes Bild

Not one bit pathetic. And the tie would not be cheesy at all. Just make sure you go with a very passive color, such as light blue or pink, even yellow. The all white will make anything that is not white stand out. Wear with pride!

thanks for the advive' date=' and thanks to all for the votes of confidence[/quote']when it colors and wearing them right it all comes down to contrast, one of the key things the people at the vice clothing deparment knew as they always balanced out dark colors with light ones of different tonesEingefügtes Bildblack shirt, white suit top, tan pants and white shoesusing atleast 2 - 4 different colors, one for the pants, shirt, shoes and top and sometimes using the same one for the pants and top along with the shoes but a different one for the shirt and sometimes black shoes. although I would stick strictly to either white, light, medium grey or black shoes as to keep those neutral and make those more subdued based on the outfit. as I always kind of thought they stuck out in outwhere the busses dont run when he switched back to his pilot outfit with a black shirt instead of whiteEingefügtes BildWhite shirt, Tan pants, white shoes and that salmon colored blaser/ suit top with the shoes matching his top rather than straight white like he had in the pilot and it just looked kinda weird and off when he did that to meEingefügtes BildEingefügtes BildDark Blue Suit top, dark grey pants, green/blue shirt, black shoesor hereEingefügtes BildEingefügtes Bildwhite shoes, white pants, black shirt like your going for mixed in with a medium grey windbreakerand that certainly doesnt look bad at all, Daniel Craig in Casino Royale had a similar getup but using dark blue in place of the black and tan pants, not sure about the shoes that he wore thoughand he had nothing over the shirt.and dont worry about being subconscious about this kinda stuff, everyone always feels that way at the start and trust me theres nothing wrong with worrying about how it looks as by doing that you've given it far more thought that the current idiots in hollywood have ever have and your far ahead of the game by doing that as your almost always guaranteed to look better than them if you've given it some thought where as they dont give it any and it showsalthough personally I would try and stay away from straight black and go for a dark grey in its place as to lighten the contrast a touch so the brighter colors dont jump out so much next to it unless that's what your shooting foras I'm trying to stay away from black t shirts and go for something else in its place along with lightening up everything else.

wow, that was extremely helpful! i'll be referring back to the pics and your suggestions for a while. sorting out the fine points of contrast is definitely more tricky than i first realized. i really can't thank you enough!

Also I should note that for the pilot he had a light, very light blue/green shirt on with the salmon colored jacket, ditto for the white suit he had when we first see Crockett in the pilot:

Might not be the right place to post this, but. Did anyone try to identify different designers for clothes worn during the seasons of Miami Vice? I do find on some online stores blazers I'm after which resemble those worn by Sonny. One example is http://yoox.com. Can somebody help me locate the best source for silk t-shirts, linen blazers and I'm not sure about the trousers. Were those linen as well? I want salmon colored linen blazer :)Cheers to you all, I'm glad I've found this site.Gorazd,Slovenia

not sure Im going by my mark 1 eye ball, you'd probably be better off asking Burnett and cooper about it as chances are the same people they got the clothes off for S1 and S2 were the same people they used for S3 just with a different color scheme.
