Awesome Pics Coop! I usually have stayed at the Sands when I've been to Reno. Not a suite but close enough! You are right, Reno is not as impressive as Vegas. It's sad because Reno has really gotten a bit run down since the 90's. The whole stretch inside the Eldorado to Circus Circus inside is a cool place to hang out and get a drink.

I can assure you, I did nothing to the photo. Not really sure what your seeing, but if I were going to get photoshop, learn how to use it, I would have added a picture of Don Johnson in the scene with me to make it fun, but I wouldn't add fake trees to a worthless picture. :)Sorry, no photoshop here! :)

I couldn't agree more! The connection from Eldorado, Silver Legacy, and Circus Circus is the best in Reno. It's the closest thing to Vegas....sort of.There were a few problems with the room I stayed in.1. When I checked in, the room that I got was on floor 6, not 12 as I had booked it. I wasn't too happy about that, and grummbled off. The view was, well, there was no view, unless looking at someone else's room in the tower across the way is a view.2. It was in the high 90's there, and the air conditioner wouldn't cool down the room. It was 76 degrees in there. How would I be able to sleep with it 4 degrees away from 80 degrees in there?I called the front desk, and explained the situation. Happily, within about 5 minutes, they sent a maintenence guy to solve the problem. He replaced a dirty air filter. I told him I don't believe that would solve the problem. He told me he has done this for many years, and that is all that is needed. "trust me" he said. ...o.k.. My crap detector is excellent, and I go with my gut feeling. I'm right most of the time.I left the room for two hours with the air set at 60 degrees so it would be cool when I returned. When I returned, it was now 77 degrees! The heat went UP one degree! That was it. I went to the front desk, and explained the situation, and told them I need a new suite. To her credit, she agreed, and gave another suite on floor 16! One floor from the top!NOW I had a view, and the air conditioner, while not great, worked much, much better than the old room's air conditioner!Things were fine now! Plus, it was a better view.Eingefügtes BildEingefügtes Bild

I forgot to mention that when I first got there, I was hungry, so I ate at a hamburger joint called, "MEL'S DINER" which is one of the many restaurants right inside the casino. Right from the start, the server seemed to be clueless. I asked him about the restaurant right next door, almost touching. He said he had no idea what I was talking about, never seen it. (It was 30 feet away!) He looked dazed and confused. He took my order. I ordered one of the restaurant's classic hamburgers. He asked what I wanted for a side dish. He gave me several options. I said I'll have the house salad. He asked what dressing I'd like. I told him 1000 Island dressing. He wrote it down. He took the menu, and left. When he returned with my food, I noticed that my side was french fries. When he retuned to ask how everything was, I told him I didn't get the salad I asked for. He said, "Oh, it's coming right up any minute now." O.K......... As you can guess, I never got any salad.I paid for my meal, but didn't leave a tip.

I just read your experience out loud to my old lady. I gotta say that it's surprisingly well written and easy to make entertaining when reading it out loud. We both have sympathy for you in the case of the restaurant. It amazes me sometimes the kind of service you can get (not get) in the service industry.

Hey, thanks! :o I appreciate that.I find that the servers who MEMORIZE the orders without writing it down are oddly more accurate than those that actually write it down! :) Interesting observation....Beach_Vice, your really cool. :tasse:"LET'S GO SMOKE A BEER TOGETHER!"

Glass blocks, checkNeon stuff, checkCity skyline at night, checkCastillo, TEARS OF JOY  Wondered before I clicked if you'd be able to snap any pics of the tables, glad you got one. Inspired to break out some video blackjack tonight. (Exciting, I know.) Way to go, man! Good reminder for me to book another getaway. Nothing like hurtling through the desert en route one of those legendary places. Hope you got what you needed.

One thing I got was a quality dinner for a cheap ass price.I had my choice of either a nice tender Filet Mignon, or a thick, 12 oz New York steak, a huge baked potato with butter and sour cream, season vegtables, dinner rolls, and a dinner salad for..........$9,99! Now THAT'S a bargain! And it tasted fantastic!!
