I bet you got one heck of a vice vibe in there. Great work.

Thankyou Jeremy coming from you is a huge compliment !

It was a real treat going to the 14th floor of this building on Brickell Avenue  and seeing the actual room of the Contempt of Court teaser boardroom. The room, the outer office and corridor all pretty much the same as the Summer of 1987 when MV shot there .:done:

It looks very neglected from how I remember it in the episode. Thank you for sharing a present picture!

The ending was so unjust and sad. Similar end scene as in "No Exit," only that had a different outcome. But then Gina put an end to Mosca in "Blood and Roses."

That was one of the things that made Vice unique/realistic.  As any Cop can tell you - the good guys don't always win.

Yes that's true. I like, how they showed the corruption in the system. But those endings were repeated often and felt disheartening. Giving the viewers the message, that there wasen't much hope. Also considering how "Freefall" ended. But yeah life is also like that sometimes. And they wanted to show a different ending, the other reality, that also exists. Not the typical one.

Many scenes in this ep were filmed at the David W. Dyer Federal Building at 300 NE 1st St.  The building was recently acquired by Miami Dade College, whose Wolfson Campus is right next door.  Unfortunately,  none of us Vice fans will ever have the chance to visit the interior open-air courtyard, because it is being enclosed as part of major renovations.

The rest of it should be preserved, though.

Such a shame, I love the look of the inner courtyard and have noticed it closed for many years. That’s one location I sure would have liked to visited.

Interesting as that article was 2016 and up to now nearly three years later not one bit of work has been done on the renovation. The property sits empty and looking rundown on closer inspection.

LOCATION PROOF: JIMMY THE PALMA´S HOUSE

2515 Flamingo Drive, Miami Beach

@C Glide suspected it anyway (great job to find that house with interior shots only, but maybe CGlide just guessed that the round shaped roof pattern is for the internal ceiling!), but it was officially "unconfirmed" on his location page. Now I add proof. See below. One picture says it all as the camera pans around Jimmy and Frank Mosca so we get a match of all three sides on one wide angle realtor picture, but I added also the second pic with the other half of 360 degrees. Great house by the way!

ENJOY!

NEW LOCATION: THE PRISON (marked with unknown on C Glides location website)

MIAMI FDC (Federal Detention Center), 33 NE 4TH STREET

just next door from the Federal Court building they filmed in. Built in 1985, it is housing 1200 pre-trial inmates.

I did not find any interior pics that match (for obvious reasons there is no filming allowed inside and no Google Streetview), but it is very likely.

I feel honored that you think I´ll do everything for an exclusive location photo, but, no thanks, look what happened to Jack Rivers! :p

The last picture looks like the Bridge of Sighs ( I think that's the name} in New York.

here we got proof that the jail scenes in this episodes were all filmed in Miami FDC just next to the Dyer Federal Court building as assumed by me in this thread earlier. FDC was built in 1985 for 1200 pretrial inmates. It looks new in MV and is no high security facility which explains the big cells and waiting areas we see where Mosca has his lobster dinners :funky:

The movie "Wild Things" (1998) filmed in Miami and @C Glidehas it on his post MV movie location site. One picture shows the interior of a prison and it looks exactly like the MV jail scenes (see colors of cells and exactly matching dark grey lower walls. And, Wild Things also filmed in the same Dyer Federal Court room as Contempt of court. See my comparison below. Upper pic: Wild Things. Lower 3 pics: Contempt of court.

In "Contempt of Court" we see the Dyer Federal Courthouse with the huge mural behind the judge:

We see the same courtroom in the first episode of Wiseguy's Season 4:
