like the gto better in the still of "the rockford files" looks way better. The Bentley Blower is a fine piece of machinery as is the mclaren F1' date=' was`nt keen when it was first released but love it now. The way the interior is set out just makes it that much more special. It was just so way ahead of its time its frightening!! but then again so was the Porsche 959 but that was more technology based.the Ghibli maybe the better car, but can u imagine pulling up somewhere in a Ferrari Daytona, my choice would still be the Testarossa tho[/quote']Yeah I was watching that on the old Sleuth TV network that I dont get anymore and cant find anymore for some reason (get the feeling they turned into ME TV) and I was like why do I have an odd feeling I've seen that car somewhere.like no it cant be that one.......... checking ferrarichat, yup it was that one.yeah I know with the F1 I remember that back then I used to for some reason say oh the countach it can do 240 mph, why's that so special? (I had gotten the KPH thing mixed up with MPH!)then I find out it when it was new was aerodynamically limited to one sixty with the LP400 countachEingefügtes Bildsaw one of those in forest green and orange interior at the same place where I saw the miura, not pretty looking in that color comboand only hit one eighty because of how much horsepower they threw in it with the LP500 in the 1980's. Then it just sort of sunk in and now with porsche offering carbon ceramic brakes and the like for about 10 grand about 4 years ago and you start to see some of the other stuff spill into other cars you look back and your like damn!that thing had all that back in the 1990's? and a true top speed of 240 MPH? its like the Gotha 229 of the sports car worldhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gotha_229so ahead of its time and yet alot of people really didnt give it its due dividends, I did always like the shape of itits not unlike an early porsche 911 really, wonder how close they are in size given how big the new one is compared to the old one

http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=AyHAYw0qfy0

you know like which one is closer to the actual size of the F1, the original or the new one? plus the car still looks brand new 20 years latter, just like the daytona really. with the Bentley the other thing about it is that just like the buggati's of the time period they really spend a lot of time with the small details on them, there really works of mechanical art

http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=hgkACtLJaxk

like a fine watch and people have and still beat the bejesus out of them and they keep ticking on as in the 1930's well just imagine the state of the road system.all dirt roads, with potholes and god knows what else, they had to be tough to last http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_254658-Bentley-3-Litre-1924.htmlhttp://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_124184-Bentley-3-41-2-ML1505-1927.htmland they did, guess they figured back then you bought a car you were going to keep it for life, not like now where its once every 5 to 10 years.

hmmm if you ever gave me a choice between the daytona spyder/coupe the Ghbli and the TR I dont know I'd have to say daytona hands down.I'm just naturally tweaked into cars of that era, such as the cobra and the miura, the tr would be second though as the ghbli just looks too much like a flatboard to fall in love with it.never been a Maserati fan anyways, I like detomaso who owned them once though but that's about as close as I get to saying I like them.plus if its a convertible well you hear this in the morning once you give it some gas at 2:12

it may not be as masculine as the TR but you get more of that noise coming out of the back end!I'd honestly think of the daytona and tr as companion pieces really, if you could afford one you should get the other one along with it lol!

Funny thing is though you could also use PMT's Caddie as a daily driver then lolas it turns out caddies from the 1960's, 1970's and 1980's like they frequently used on vice arent that expensive, but they do suck up the gas.hell I wonder if they had atleast 3 on the show judging by how often the dash changed on them and the color, went from a blue silver to a blue green aqua tint http://www.imcdb.org/vehicle_1937-Cadillac-DeVille-Convertible-1964.htmlhttp://pics.imcdb.org/0is132/bitmap37aj8.8338.jpghttp://pics.imcdb.org/0is241/bitmap2yh3.4214.jpgcertainly better and cooler than an SUV with none of the flip over and room for 4 in the trunk alone lolits a 63 by the way, they stopped making the convertible in 1964.funny thing though is even in that regard well my father tried to buy one in 1966 with his mother along with him and a 6K check for one and got turned away because he was wearing a flannel shirt instead he went over to the Chrysler dealership and bought a 66' Chrysler imperial, so to say the least from it going from a 60K to a 20K car doesnt bother me in the slightest considering that.and that's roughly there going price now, about 10 to 20 K, hell they picked up one for the show fast and loud at 8 Grand, fixed it up and couldnt make any money on it so even now there not that reveredprobably because when you think General motors you dont think luxury or quality anymore, as nowadays there cars are designed not to last but to fall apart by about 80K miles. Which is something their CEO said in a business weekly that I saved from about 06 or 07'there own CEO came out and said that, makes you wonder just how much of that spilled into the Corvette ZR1 too

http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=g4CPBfpnye0

Synchro's failed, wouldnt start after the american road trip and then the fastener for the seatbelt comes off on the top gear test track.something tells me that isnt all his fault, may have been two rotten eggs amongst the collection of good ones but it makes you think don't it?and gee I wondered why GM had to be bailed out by our goverment and are getting there butt kicked in consumer reports by volkswaggen considering how much everyone has to commute now to even find jobs nowadays here in the USback then though those Cadillac were tough though, I came across a 300K miles 1970 model that was still somehow working after all this time, garaged but somehow it survived damn near 40 years of use without having its engine taken apart and rebuilt.hmph maybe its like smith and wesson, you gotta get a good one built under a good CEO to get a good example.

http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=xXahELhw2pE

it was a 1966 Chrystler imperal, pretty similar to this, think he said it was one step below this one when I showed him the video

http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=fMtsCfYZlog

and I see what you mean its 2X longer and 2X wider than anything in that parking lot lolsaid it had bar none the best air conditioning in a car he's ever had, probably because at that time Chrystler was the lead in enginnering technologies back then, including air conditioning, hell they even managed to perfect the old tech and make a car on polyglass non radial tires and drums in the rear to handle and stop well with there torsion bar suspension:
unlike a lot of the old cars back then, including a few of there own further down the line:
and I remember during irish eyes how much they were squealing the tires just trying to get around that airport parking lot in a hurry with the Caddy, still though 5 years of hard work and it survived apparentlyits kind of funny actually, what most people dont relize that it was the luxury and upper end cars of that time period that lasted, not really the how much power can you shove into them muscle carsthey were kind of like the Chevy cobalts of yesteryear I guess would be a good way to put it, plus I think the challenger in 1970 was something like 4 grand when the imperial was 6not sure about the GTX there, definitely higher up though, says it was 4 as well in a quick google search.

Hmm just doing some ebay browsing to see if anything interesting had poped up and well it it did:http://www.ebay.com/itm/FERRARI-TESTAROSSA-WHITE-HIGH-END-EDITION-1-18-BY-KYOSHO-08424-/400391876378?pt=Action_Figures_Diecast_US&hash=item5d39372f1aturns out kyosho is more or less making a 1/18 Viced version of the TR now, a few little minor details are a little off but it is more or less the vice TREingefügtes BildCream interior, sort of rustish carpet (it's a little off, needs to look more redish) left wing mirror and psudo 1984 - 1986 rim style without the polished center cap and that extra ferrari emblem put on, plus the latter style turn signals wonder if it would be possible to rub the ferrari emblem off on the quarter panels and the center lock capsgotta admit though it looks better than the daytona model they offered awhile back herehttp://www.ebay.com/itm/1-18-FERRARI-365-GTB-4-Daytona-71-Late-Version-By-Kyosho-/360581583681?pt=Action_Figures_Diecast_US&hash=item53f4565341Eingefügtes Bildcome to think of it, I think on Sonny's boat in S4 I remember seeing a silver model of the TR on one of the shelves, a rock and a hard place I think the episode was.also found this a little while ago

http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=-8bzsjXdI-A

is it just me or does this footage look like its off the VHS tapes which seem to have a higher brightness than the DVD ones with that one?and found this too

Love the TR model' date=' just been on there Ebay shop to have a look at others, checked there shipping rates to UK for a Porsche carrera GT. Model costs $28.99, shipping $51!!!![/quote']Yeash, wonder if the old toronto motorsports place where I got my 1:18 kyosho model of the SV miura in black and orange (not gold) is that high.http://www.ebay.com/itm/LAMBORGHINI-MIURA-P400SV-ORANGE-1-18-KYOSHO-MODEL-CAR-EXCELLENT-COND-M1333-/370743694819?pt=Action_Figures_Diecast_US&hash=item56520bd5e3OKAY I did NOT pay that much for it, it was on sale for about 70 bucks, took 5 bloody weeks to get across the canadian border to MA though, wonder if they shipped it by horse and buggy!plus I had to do some makeshift repairs to it, the rear trunk latch was sagging to one side, like happens on some of the real ones after crash damage:Eingefügtes Bildhttp://www.lambomiura.com/rest18.htmlol so I unscrewed the pivot points, put some carefully cut electrical tape on it and placed it on the side that was sitting too lows connection point for the hood and put it back down so it lay flush.I think it was more just a problem with the mold than actual damage really, the frame for the hinges is plastic not metal, the rest of the car was fine thoughmight be different for you with the shipping time, they might just put it on a plane so it could potentally just take 3 days tops for you, mine was probably put in at the local post office and stuck in processing for about 3 weeks before it finally moved.but anyways I remember they had the TR listed a little while back when they were first coming out, I thought it was supposed to be a reissue of the old ones, the later ones, the 89 - 91's so I didnt really pay any attention to itbut there had been a model of the vice car, 1984 model at the 06' kyosho model convention in RED that I thought would never see the light of day, next thing you know I was looking for any new TR models and bingo it poped uphttp://www.tomotorsports.com/index.php?route=product/product&filter_name=testarossa&filter_description=true&product_id=2967actually if you want to buy one like mine, the miura, they happen to be on sale for about 64 bucks again:http://www.tomotorsports.com/index.php?route=product/product&filter_name=miura&filter_description=true&product_id=443also if you ever wonder what a Viced Miura would look likeEingefügtes Bildhttp://www.lambomiura.com/rest14.htmjust imagine in the air tonight with that baby, says its a P400 and it doesnt have the eye lashes so its an extremely rare one to be rigged up like thathttp://www.lambomiura.com/info/P400-Early/earlyp400.htmalso that's either a 350 or a 450 GT next to it being restored, looks like a barn find

just as an afterthought though I kind of wish I had gone for a different color for that miura model instead of orange, so it might be a good idea if you want one to go for a yellow or a black one insteadhttp://www.tomotorsports.com/index.php?route=product/product&filter_name=miura&filter_description=true&product_id=559http://www.tomotorsports.com/index.php?route=product/product&filter_name=miura&filter_description=true&product_id=1231sadly they no longer have a green one, I tried to order one of those while they still had it and found out that I had just missed itbut anyways that way you end up following vice's key rule, no earthtones with it.also this is what the black TR looks like, complete with a red interior http://www.tomotorsports.com/index.php?route=product/product&filter_name=testarossa&filter_description=true&product_id=2558

yeah 375K for a coupe conversion like the yellow one used in one way ticket

http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZLBZ69dVzWs

note the missing radio antenna that is on the wrong side for a convertible, and the missing headrests at the end of that episode where they pick the file up out of it at the end 1.1 million for a legit spyderhttp://www.miamiviceonline.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=7569&stc=1&d=1360764592and I think the coupes are about 325 to 350Kwhen the cars back in the day were about half of that, funny thing is the interior really isnt that special, it was used on all ferrari's of the late 60's time periodEingefügtes Bildfrom a Dino 206/246, the forerunner to magnums 308but its the performance that set it apart now is now as bizarre as this sounds average.Heavy steering and a heavy clutch0 - 60 5.7 seconds, top speed 177 MPH, thing is though it was designed for long distance journeys on the autostrada and wasnt even breathing at 140 when an American V8 would run out of puff from it, like the American powered ISO Grifo and Detomaso Panterahence the heavy steering, it lightens up above 30 MPH and is suppose to see most of its use above thatbut with the ISO and the Pantera both for the most part Italian but using american V8 powerplantshttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Iso_Grifohttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DeTomaso_Panterahence why in a few car magazines like classic and sports car magazine they had an article about someone going for the modern version of the daytona spyder, the ferrari 550 Barchetta from a daytona spyder, a legit one.
and how many damn cars does that man have? that's what a countach, an elan and a 550 atleast?and also when my father was over there back in the 1960's for his job when he asked how long it takes to get somewhere there counterquestion was what do you drive?as the autostrada used to be like the german autobahn, unlimited and sadly I dont think it is that way today.so not only did cars like that create and perform those kind of speeds regularly they also had a use, sadly because of overpopulation, lack of training and the like germany is the only one to my knowledge that still has some autobahns that are unlimited.after all a slow car is as dangerous as a car coming at you on the opposite side of the road if your moving like a bandit and americans over there do not follow the rules, when someone flashes at you your supposed to move out of the fast lane and let people pass.which when an american goes on it there they fail to yeld to that rule and block the lane like they do in the slow and medium lanes here, where they just sit at there set speed and cruseso its another great thing being ruined by bad people again sadly, either that or just too many damn people.sad thing is if we could train the americans here to do it properly, force all driving schools to follow the autobahn rules and start really teaching people how to drive properly in all conditions before they got on the road we could potentally have that herebut there's sadly kind of an anti freedom culture going on here right now in everything and logic seems to be a dirty word.see it with everything, something requires a little tweaking and the idiots in charge take a hammer to it and replace it with something that it over effective and destructive in its nature. hell even our president is acting like a Villain these days, using dead people and there photos for his own agenda when it was purely a failure in the states courts and them exercising an act of extreme stupidity when it comes to basic measures of school safety. but the idiocy that is the obama administration aside, sorry I just saw his state of the union address on the BBC this morning, the short version, and well to call Biden a boot licker judging by how much he jumped the gun with his fake applause for everything obama said would be an understatement he was a literal human applaude box
and then to see him, obama get away with something that should have been grounds for impeachment right there and then just makes me sick with the victims of that incident, I dont care if he had permision to show those photos that is just wrong. and its a page out of the master manipulators playbook, they failed to see that when you turn someone into sitting ducks with the lockdown systemhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockdownthat they cant fight back or fly away and that there sitting ducks (duh) and you need to put a properly armed and equped sheppard there who is on duty all the time to protect them if you tell them to still sit like ducks instead of running away when someone is trying to kill them!so fix the known problem and dont infringe on peoples rights, simple, no need to pull any of that stuff on innocent good people and be so damn disrespectiful to the victims a the same timeI guess its just like crazy, stupid is as stupid does, its just you would think the president of all people would be smarter and more respectful towards the victims than that, my personal, political and logical feelings aside. and then they applauded him for it, which I think warrents this

http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=35TbGjt-weA

Sorry I just cant believe that monster actually did that and used photos of the dead to advance his own ajenda infront of the entire nation, ever if they were with permision that's just wrong on so many levels.Ah well back onto the cars, that 599 does look nice in spyder form. Honestly though you know I was just going off of this video and leno made a very interesting point
how does that car make you feel?I honestly cant say that with modern ferrari and lamo I feel much anymore, atleast not from the photos or videos, not even the aston there.Like I'm kind of in the pre vice state with ferrari and lambo, I have one or two favorites and I stick to them.the pagani hurah though, now there is something special
hmm maybe its the interiors, the pagani's interior just looks far cooler than the now standard italian interior style that even the corvette the viper are starting to mimic
so its kind of loosing its novelty and coolnesskind of funny though with the countach I can see why when I get nostagic I love it but when Im not it doesnt mean what it used to mean with me that muchI guess maybe the Miura apeals to me far more than the countach does anymore, I especially love this Psudo Jota one, its like the right mix of the Miura and the Jaguar series 1 E type mixed in with a lotus esprit rear endhttp://www.miamiviceonline.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=7567&stc=1&d=1360764563http://www.miamiviceonline.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=7568&stc=1&d=1360764566Eingefügtes BildEingefügtes Bildjust beautiful, wish someone could track that one down.also might be my logical side kicking in, if your going to spend a ton of cash on a nice car it might as well be a duesy like the gumball rally Cobra, you know something truly special like the daytona and the TR, not some run of the mill supercar that brad over the hill also has with a bland black interior on it and how sad is that now? there is such a thing as a run of the mill supercar now.hmph run of the mill - supercar, two things that should not even apply to each other.Edit: you know I was just thinking something, maybe freedom is not an apt way to put it as it gets so overused and has so many eyes rolled at it given its missuse in boughts of anger towards that particluar infringing party on that persons rights, beliefs and loves. Trust however would be a better way to put it, as an aura of distrust breeds even more of it, and after all nothing kills innovation, good will, new thoughts and ideas like a monkey on your back. after all if you want things to get better when things are bad you do good things to help people to help get them off there backs as well and thus through a thread of good will things get better if not at the very least bearable for someone having a bad day. but unreasonable, illogical red tape based off of a half assed idea and ideas, that hurts everyone and makes life harder to live and enjoy for weeks, months, years even decades on end until said offending laws are repealed or finally die. like what nearly happened with sopa and pipa of which the obama adminstration probably would have signed through while saying there not going to.of which there supposedly trying to resurrect part of for some new government law over here.never ends does it?You know huey lewis and the news made a song called I want a new drug, I'll tell you what I want a new goverment, this ones defective lol!

You know I was just thinking something, with backend if the Miura and the Esprit turbo the reason why that doesnt bother me is that unlike some modern cars they build upon somethingEingefügtes BildEingefügtes BildMiuraEingefügtes BildLotus Esprit S3 Turbo it takes the louver's and the deck lid and makes it its ownits sort of like what Sfdebris goes into here with homage VS ripoffhttp://blip.tv/sf-debris-opinionated-reviews/homage-vs-ripoff-6518135its alright to take something from something as long as you build upon it and make your own, as in almost all acts of fiction such a thing is very true as every basic framework of a story has been done before.so its all about the details and twisting the story or piece of a car to do something new and differentsame thing with a car, how many times can you put 4 wheels on it and put an engine on a chasis?truth is alot really given local laws where tax doggers would take off a wheel or two like on the morgan 3 wheeler to avoid motor car taxes lol and yet on the lotus when I first saw it after seeing the lotus there was no such thought as they stole that off of the miura.because they used it and made it there ownso that's the key with it and why modern cars have been failing in that regard, I mean when I first saw the new corvettemy first thought was they ripped off the SkylineEingefügtes BildEingefügtes Bildand damn it, ferrari finally drops the grinning idiot look and the corvette picks it up!

http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=KnZYwF_O894

at 1:51or rather the shocked emoticon face -_-and you know when someone can dissect what you took your inspiration from with pin point accuracy you've failed, they really have and its a rip off if you do it seriously like this, for fun that's different though.that's just being a fan, but I'm just underwhelemed with modern car designs these days, first it was ripping off the E Types and the front engined cars of yesterday, now its making cars that all look the same interior and exterior wise as other models.I mean what happened to the creativity, was it just that everyone went to a single designer like with the delorean, 308 and a few others and he felt the need to up it ever time and that made those cars so special?which is also what happened with the countach and the miura, the creator just wanted to do something very different with it

http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=a2vcT1bq2XA

and now with that gone everyone just tries to copy each other?the most infuriating part about the new vette though is that it just feels like its trying to copy the daytona now to me so you've coppied the skyline a car I like, the daytona a car I really like with the interiorEingefügtes Bild and turned it into a hodgepodge of the 58' vette's grinning face, with a piece stolen off of a far nicer looking corvette when it comes to the badge at 8:19:
and made an ugly unrecognizable mess of the Corvette C6 ZR1 that I liked, kinda makes me wish I could jump ahead 10 years and see what the next one will look like, see if the next one looks like a vette again or if this is the shape of things to come.if it is the classic car market is going to explode.

Just found this of the TR yesterday

http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=707SX1zQn98

and also this one has all 3 in it, Miura, Countach, and TR but the TR is modded and its one of the few koenig ones to keep its lines over the air intakes at the 2:00 and 2:27 with a modded nose of the koenig models.

http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZydlyEjuCJw

and sounds like that countach needs a tune up lol, very cool to see them in an urban environment to show you just how different they look from everything else which is what all those special promo photos by the factoryactually remove alot of timesbut with the TR its kind of interesting how different it looks with the modded nose but the stock side gills, it actually looks sleaker which makes sense as the custom bumper does away with the two lips over and under the grill Eingefügtes BildEingefügtes Bildthus giving it a smoother, less boxy look in the closeups and also completes the angled look of the nose by pulling the front spoiler out a touch. not unlike the rockstar games version of the 512TR in the GTA gamesEingefügtes Bildhttp://www.igcd.net/vehicle.php?id=1427also gotta love the S1 daytona headlights on it with the koenig example, looks more in tune with it than it was on the daytona replicaEingefügtes Bildand sorry about the political overtones and mixing it in here, I was in shock that he said that and well frankly I felt like Nash on radio dead air (with his radio show what the **** is wrong with you) after seeing that so I just felt I had to say somethingespecially when you know he's whole heatedly barking up the wrong tree, but ill keep it separate from now on with this one and leave it for my other thread, you know keep it pure and I apologize for doing that. its just when you know to the contrary that he is whole heatedly wrong and its about something you deeply believe in it kind of works its way into normal conversation even when it shouldnt of and I should have known better to keep it separateand for that I apologize.

Also just to show you I'm not an old stick in the mud when it comes to modern car design there is new one or two out there that I like, its just not the usual suspects for methe Ferrari F12, an interesting blend of the old and new

based on a concept of the opel GT in a way, the original from the 60's in interior design, namely build the interior around the driver, get the proportions correct and then style the rest of the carin which its funky skelitonzied charm is oddly enticing, and I say skeletionized as it really looks it, it seems bony the next is the new lotus exige S which sadly the US will not be getting because of our regulations here, namely that of no airbag and crash protection (really should make a law saying that you can sign that away so you can just enjoy what you want to enjoy)

note the weight, 1900 pounds, 350 horsepower with the always underrated and forgotten 6 Cylinder motor. They finally made a lotus on par with a 427, 7 liter Shelby Cobra.hmph talk about the green hornet.....

no apologies necessary my man, the thread i started is just the beginning, so we take it where we take it :).The new ferrari V12 is a nice car, but i really have fell in love with the drop top 599, i know what you mean about the interiors of modern cars, especially high end ones. They have become similar across the board. As for being a skeleton interior, the F40 took it to extremes, a steering wheel, speedo and rev counter and a couple of swithches lol.I recently tweeted my wish list:Ferrari TestarossaFerrari DaytonaFerrari 599 SA Aperta drop topnow i really must put the euro lottery on!!!! :D

Thanks man it just helps to rant once in awhile, its like a form of sanity maintenance plus it helps to put thought to paper so to speak and form new opinions and just straighten things out in your mind. not to mention I needed to do some soul searching for awhile there, still recovering after that disaster that happened in CT, not a 100% back to normal but I'm getting there hence my oversensitivty to what they've been showing on the TV lately.its just that it also has an inherent danger to alienate people when you speak your mind and after doing that you kind of have that little thought in the back of your head like should I have done that, should I have said that.will people take it the wrong way and take it personally? guess its just the inherent danger with being human and passionate about things you like, always have to say I think and not state things as fact unless you know it to be true.funny how much of a difference the I think bit has when it is just all I think when you come right down to it and being mature about it. after all nothing is really set in stone with anything, its always a building platform with thought and sometimes the base needs to be rearranged once you learn something is faulty or some new info that is pertinent comes into play. guess its kind of got a whole science vs religion thing going for it in a way, Science Is I know, relgion is I dont know and I just believe it to be so and naturally that kind of stuff is going to come into conflict.basically I'd say honestly I feel about 60 to 65% back, still sort of rewriting my personal doctrine after that and coming to terms with the stuff that I care about can be very black and white when it comes to its use. basically follow the lyrics of this song and that's kinda how I feel

little by little.with the TR its kind of funny initially I was trying to get used to Sonny having a new car when the daytona got written out and well I've never been too big a fan of white, plus I was a countach kid when I was growing up, had the poster of it on the wall of an ironically white one.post 78 model, I remember that, had the flares on it.hell I honestly didnt know the TR existed until I came across it in vice and then I kind of started to see and appreciate the duality of the two cars, the daytona and the TR, ying and yang, male and female after getting over the daytona being written out and them missing out on such a cool color choice with the TR initiallyits very miura and countach like too and I've grown to like it and actually if I had a choice between the TR and the countach I would legitimately choose the TR like this guy:

http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=kMM8i5nIQ00

he also explains why the price is lower than that compared to the other ferrari's. turns out they made more of them than the 308 and 328 combined, the two most famous ferrari's out there when it comes to pop culture.guess that explains why on 5th gear the top fan favorite ferrari that was voted for was the TR out of all of them including the daytona, which they noticeably did not agree with. Tiff was more a fan of the 206/246Eingefügtes Bildand just had a shocked look on his face when it came in like 4th or 5th but it would have to have two or three modifications, two to the front end. namely replace the bumper with that of the smoother kind on that koenig mixed in with the stock spoiler sort of like this one:Eingefügtes Bild
as those two lips up close just dont seem to mesh well with the rest of the body, next to the turn signals up closeEingefügtes Bildwhile from this angle the new car looks awesome, like the whole airport scene should have been its intro instead just with him ditching them once going into secondEingefügtes Bildno need to speed it up (the film footage) and get the dummies to run into a truck, I'm pretty sure that thing is far faster in every regard than that FBI four door.just hit the highway and shift it into second, like switeck said when they were tracking it in irish eyes.Damn... he's taking the testarossa...if he shifts into second we're historyand I've got a thing with the body being smooth, I just like the cleaner lines of the front bumper of the koenig car and wish ferrari had adopted that themselves after seeing it, part of the reason why the typical 60's style of car design resonates so wellEingefügtes BildEingefügtes Bild(Corvette C2's a little 50/50, I like the roadster but not the coupe weirdly, on the C3 its reversed as I usually like the coupes better than the roadsters. )Eingefügtes BildEingefügtes Bildsat in a 75 red orange one like the above one as a kid, tomato orange with tan interior, wasnt impressed with it and I just remember feeling sorry for it as it looked tired and ugly in that combovery worn. anyways that applies to certain earlier or latter cars too weirdlyEingefügtes BildEingefügtes BildEingefügtes Bildall of there cars have smooth free flowing lines and even the early viper had itEingefügtes Bildweird thing is though there are certain exceptions, like the opposite end of itEingefügtes Bild both cars here
you know either cars that are a 100% smooth or a 100% pumped full of testosterone with smooth lines but big flares, hoods, tires and the likeits kind of hard to explain, guess the best way to put it is like sonny did in glades, I just like what I like and I dont like it when they only go midway between smooth edges and sharp edges like they do now and like that ugly abomination there calling a Corvette now
I mean it really is the frankenstien monster, the bits I like off of it are from other cars that I a 100% like, like the Nissan Skyline GT-Rhttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nissan_GT-Rhell my reaction to it is not unlike this with the new C7http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MmqcFEnbaWMeven the nice new stingray badge was taken off of a far nicer C2 corvette concept car from 1959, theres not an original part of that design on there save for maybe the stingray top down view that you can see herehttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:2014_Corvette_Coupe,_Cyber_Gray,_Right_Front,_Jan_17,_2013_Detroit_Auto_Show.jpganyways you kind of see where I'm coming from and what kind of defines my taste in auto design. With the F40 the weird thing is I intially didnt really care for it till I learned what it was, I was actually more in the porsche 959 camp.then looking at the thing I started to understand what it was trying to be, why it was like that and its grown on me.although the reason for that not initally liking it might be because well I dont really care for the wing on it and I've started to dilike superbird like cars like it sort of looks like:Eingefügtes Bildless and less over the years, mind you the wing really works and looks far more at home on the boats of vice than it does the superbird, although thankfully its far more tuned down on the F40but I'm more in tune with the 288 GTO truth be told, its forerunner in group B that never was, man that would have been a sight to see that thing battling audi quattros back then.Eingefügtes Bildmind you I wish someone would honestly take those over pronounced mirrors off it and purify the design abit, I mean I remember there being a periscope like rear view mirror on the early countaches but jesus that is taking it too far

as they literally look like there sticking up from the body like a WW2 Uboats periscope! hell could have put these on it instead to keep the lines clean:Eingefügtes Bildeither that or thisEingefügtes Bildanything but those damn periscopes.but it must be said with the TR vs the countach thing, the interior on the TR looks far more inviting and fun:

http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=qgQiTKccWhA

plus no weird ass buttons on the dash like here that just seem like weird touches:http://www.miamiviceonline.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=7619&stc=1&d=1361616944http://www.miamiviceonline.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=7618&stc=1&d=1361616942http://www.miamiviceonline.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=7621&stc=1&d=1361617764they literally look like the purported jellybeans they used for the buttons on star trek in the 1960's http://www.miamiviceonline.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=7622&stc=1&d=1361617766or something out of blake 7 and to go to that from this?:http://www.miamiviceonline.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=7620&stc=1&d=1361617604what happened? I can see the seats and the center console but why go with such an uninspired dash? did the designer just run out of inspiration for the dash and door panels?not to mention how claustrophobic the interior seems on a countach in general:

http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtQPjgzV1kA

keep in mind I think Clarkson is about 6 foot and that this is maybe 38 inches above the ground, hell the woman in the photo seems to be in there pretty snugly and she's what 5 foot 4 without the heels?( and FYI the one from the passenger seat was one of the actresses from charlies angles, found it on the lambo section of the ferrarichat website, lotta cool shots of TR's, Daytonas and vintage lambos an other makes there) but anyways you know the window only goes down an inch with a rear window about the size of a letterbox and those buttons look like they belong in a kids play house or somethingactually compared to the miura the interior on the countach is kind of a letdown, guess that's where ferrari with the TR capitalized, still love it and its bodywork but its for those reasons the TR's grown on me vs the old countach which just seems like its best to leave it as a memory rather than make it a reality. while the opposite is true for the Miura, I want to go back to germany and see if they restored that poor yellow one and if not offer to do it for them.So anyways for me its gotta be this list288 GTO, the ultimate 308: as like my old man always said if you gotta be a bear be a grizzlya Slightly and Subtily moded TestarossaA Ferrari daytona, 50/50 if it would be a spyder or a coupe, with maybe a ferrari 550 barchetta as a backup with some sort of different rims on it if I went with a coupe, hate the stock ones on the 550.
they just dont suit the carthe replica daytonagumball rally cobra, you just gotta, I love the fact that they found that car, its one of the few cars that has survived my childhood that I still love as much as I did back then as I do now.the Miura of coursemaybe the F12 once we see what the spyder looks likethat would be my top dream list honestly, I do love my mopars like the charger here:
but they would be honestly much lower on the list given how much those cars get customized and ruined, hate those rims on that 68' and theres a 71 cuda coupe that drives around my home once in awhile in the summerthe Son of a bitch painted the thing bright ugly Plymouth Neon candy appleblue, put oversized chrome rims on it and just ruined the car, you buy a 71 cuda you LEAVE the stock dog dish rims on and dont change the tire thickness, you just dont mess with perfection when it comes to a car like that.breaks my heart to see some jackass ruin a good car like that.

I had never noticed those multi-coloured buttons before, they just look so out of place. yeah the TR interior looks a lot nicer place to be than the lambo.would have to be drop top daytona for me although when i would get the top down in the UK i really dont know!!!!! i have to say i would only really have those 2 as drop tops, not that keen usually on them but the 2 on my list just do something for mei know what you mean when somebody just ruins a classic car to put there stamp on it, when if you just left it alone or restored it to original you would get more credit.ps, have you had more snow where you are was reading CNN tweets about massive blizzards with up to 40 inches snow in 24 hour, damn that a lot!!

So its not that entirely hopeless in that regard.but that is the reason why such cars as the newer Miata and modern mercedes benzes have hard top convertibile tops that could be put on in a minute or so like the old Ford Farelane
and that is why the early 190 SL series had a detachable hardtops.mind you with that fairlane that is why just like the early fuel injection on the 57 corvette you didnt see those on cars till much latter as well can you imagine how complex that damn thing is for 1955? next to how damn long it takes to put it up and down?hell with the daytona on the show you rip the tonau off, grab the two clasps and rip it forward and lock it into place like here at 3:41
and even the daytona replicas had those as an option but they were rarely bought when it came to the detachabile hardtops unlike the corvette ones where they usually did. Although atleast with the corvette you either have to go one way or the other with it as the T tops leak and were easily stolen so it was either a coupe or a convertibile for the two choices to go forI know as my mothers friend had a husband with a burnt orange corvette C4, had the top stolen 3 times while parked and the replacements all leaked so he could never drive the thing in the rain. atleast on the C4 corvette, not a 100% sure if that was the case on the C3, but I know that never happened on the 914 my old man hadwith the cars though, the old mopars and muscle cars I understand that they do need to be modernized but there is no need to repaint the thing in a garish ugly color and oversized 22 inch rims.Even if you have to fit wider tires you could offset that by lowering the car an inch or so to hide it and draw less light in under the car not unlike this one

http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=0Gaewg3RepU

also love how the damn licence plate nearly falls down to reveal the gas cap at 9:16 theretheres ways and means to make the thing better like he did there and he did it right without super modifying the car using existing means, honestly I hope he never does what he wants to do to that car after that.hell the only thing I would change is switch the turn signal lenses over on the grill to white to match the headlights on the exterior, interior I hate that fake wood grain on the door panels and would probably black it out like on this car
but other than that its damn near perfect as is.as I got a thing where I like people to use exisiting somewhat period correct parts for it, I hate it when they say its got ford this, mopar that, chevy and the other thing.that is how you do a resto mod or like they did with this jaguar at 8:40
the same engine just from a slightly later car of the same lineage. Not unlike Rowley Corvette did with some of its C3 based ferrari daytona replicas like this onehttp://www.miamiviceonline.com/attachment.php?attachmentid=7626&stc=1&d=1361776558they used the latter corvette C4 steering linkage because it was better and more precise than the C3 one on it, hell on the earlier corvettes they would retrofit the latter leaf springs of the 80 - 82's to the pre 80 cars just to make them ride betterthat I dont mind, and I agree with its kind of like my 5 year rule, just that your going to the next model car to get the fixed part and put it on the earlier car. just not what he did to that 71' cuda, that was amoral, and just wrong.that poor cuda.although with some cars frankensteining it can work but it just sounds wrong like with this camaro

http-~~-//www.youtube.com/watch?v=Z9Vz-42Kc2s

but in that case even I'm not so opinionated to say that I dont agree with it, it works and everything goes together well but typically I just heard chevy motor in a ford car and its like you dont mix that, you just dont.that is one of the few cases where I can say while I wouldnt do it that way I will say it works and works well.also the wheels actually work on that thing unlike the cuda.with the snow that is not the case this time, as I predicted we only got maybe 2 or 3 inches but the snow plows are going on around my home like there is no tomorrow and just tearing up the road.Guess they figure its best to just keep going even when there's no snow on the ground to justify there existence and their budget.and its one very large one and one very small one, I'm tempted to complain to the city at this moment but well its very late at night and my complaint would go on deaf ears. Funny thing was there was a channel 4 thing on bad snowplows about a day or so ago so I may not be the only one in that boat
