While observing him, they realize that he badly treats his wife Rita and the FBI are after him too, but with different priorities than VICE. Crockett prevents Rita from hiring a hit man for her husband by promising her that VICE will bring Amato to justice. Tubbs tries to buy stingers from Amato in order to bust him. Finally, they manage to arrest Amato, but a government agency who wants to use Amato as a key witness against a drug cartel, forces VICE to release him. Upon uncuffing Amato, Rita freaks out... Additional comment: Zusatzinformation: Even writer Maurice Hurley does not know what the term Three eyed turtle means. He and Joel Surnow saw this term on a commercial for a swinger club ("No three eyed turtles allowed!") and simply used it. Keiner weiss, was der Originaltitel "Three eyed turtle" bedeutet! No three eyed turtles tolerated!". Shooting locations: Drehorte: Spear House, 9325 North Bayshore Drive, Miami Shores (Amato's house, Amato's Haus) Winter Haven Hotel, Ocean Drive / 14th Street (teaser, Teaser) Miami International Airport (Topas-exchange, Topas-Austausch) Shipyard SW 2nd Avenue (ship scenes at the end, Schiffsszenen am Ende) Jose Marti Park 351 SW 4 Street near 2nd Avenue at Miami River (Crockett poses as hitman, Crockett tritt als Killer auf) Virginia Key Northeast end (missile test, Missiletest) Ukulele Bar, 10950 Biscayne Boulevard, Miami (Switek & Zito in bar, Switek / Zito in der Bar) Dade County Courthouse, 73 West Flagler Street, Miami Downtown (final scenes, Schlussszenen) My Assessment: Wertung: Bruce Willis as (then unknown) TV newbie is top. Storyline is simplistic, but realistic, especially at the end when justice fails. First signs that the show "Miami Vice" is from a different planet, were the awesome scenes in the teaser and the choice of the Amato villa with the corresponding camera work. Lots of humour and funny quotes when VICE mocks the FBI.
