Despite Crockett's and Tubbs' warnings, they realize their plan and get arrested. Crockett promises to release them in exchange for the arrest of the designated buyers. He uses Eddie as bait to lure the buyer who unfortunately gets killed in the police action. After the two boys are released, the brother of the killed dope customer wants revenge... Crockett und Tubbs stossen auf zwei junge Burschen, Eddie und Louis, die Drogen aus Kolumbien schmuggeln wollen. Trotz Warnung führen sie ihr Vorhaben durch und werden verhaftet. VICE verspricht sie freizulassen, wenn sie helfen die Käufer zu überführen. Crockett setzt Eddie als Lockvogel ein, um an den Abnehmer heranzukommen. Dieser wird jedoch bei dem Polizeieinsatz getötet. Als Crockett die Burschen vereinbarungsgemäß frei lässt, geht es erst richtig los: der Bruder des Getöteten will Rache üben... Shooting locations: Drehorte: Miami Free Zone NW 24th/107th in Doral (airport scenes, Flughafenszenen) Senator Hotel, 12th/Collins Ave, Miami Beach (hotel with the set-up, hotel was demolished, Hotelszenen; das hotel wurde 1988 abgerissen) My Assessment: Wertung: There is much unused potential in this episode, but the excellent acting by DJ makes it up in most parts. Good episode with some young guest stars. Crockett is portrayed as a cop who fully distinguishes between the tough villains and the innocent bystanders. This episode is a good example for the dark drama tone of many VICE stories. Two naive boys try to follow their dreams and the introvert of the two who even had to be persuaded to participate pays the price. The other, played by later "Sex and the City" star Evan Handler, has to live with the fact that he caused his friend's death and remains physically uninjured himself. Thus, this episode ends with a dearly purchased victory for justice which is underlined by Crockett's disgusted face expression when the camera pulls away. The main elements (music, optics, etc.) are flawless, but appear not as naturally integrated as in later episodes. The night scene at the senator hotel with the pouring rain and Hammer's perfectly orchestrated Rain tune is the most atmospheric part of this episode. Auch hier hätte man noch mehr daraus machen können, aber durch das exzellente Spiel von DJ, der die verschiedenen Facetten von Crockett zeigt, wird vieles wettgemacht.
