Stone contends that the sergeant stored the heroine which is mixed with methanol over the years and recently supplied drug addicted people in Greater Miami who died of the poisoned stuff. Crockett and Stone approach Maynard, an old acquaintance from Vietnam who always had first class information about everything. Maynard pretends to know nothing about it, so Crockett has to investigate the identity of the mysterious sergeant on his own... Ira Stone, ein Journalist, den Crockett aus Vietnam kennt, gibt ihm einen Tip bezüglich eines US-Sergeants, der nach dem Fall Saigons Drogen in den Särgen gefallener GI's in die USA schmuggelte. Stone behauptet weiters, dass kürzlich in Miami an mit Methanol vermischtem Heroin gestorbene Süchtige genau diesen Stoff konsumiert hätten, der vom Sergeant über die Jahre gelagert worden sei. Daher suchen Crockett und Stone Maynard, einen alten Bekannten aus Vietnam auf, der immer über alles und jedes gut Bescheid wusste. Schließlich gelingt es Crockett, die Identität des Sergeants zu lüften... Additional comment: Zusatzinformation: The working title of this episode was "Show me a Hero" Der Arbeitstitel der Episode lautete "Show me a hero" Shooting locations: Drehorte: Amilia Earhart Airport, Okochobee Road/Krome Avenue, Miramar (airstrip at the beginning, Airstrip am Anfang) The Carlyle on Ocean Drive (Stone's Hotel, Stone's Hotel) Marlin Hotel, 1200 Collins Ave, Miami Beach (Hotel of Stone’s wife, Hotel von Stones Frau) NW 7th Street/NW 7th Road, Miami (Crockett/ Tubbs get stopped by the garbage truck, Crockett / Tubbs werden von Mülltruck gestoppt) 625 Leucadendra Drive (Maynard's villa, Maynard's Villa) My Assessment: Wertung: DJ's debut as a director is solid craftsmanship in every respect, but the huge budget overdraft (2 Mio USD instead of budgeted 1.4 Mio) mainly caused by the water attack scene and the complicated logistics to move the equipment to the Everglades was not justified when watching the result. Good actors, the decision to cast the former Watergate conspirer Liddy was gutsy but successful. He adds a lot of mysterious mood to this episode and (according to witnesses) acted on the set like a gentleman. Good episode! DJ's Regiedebüt. Toll gemacht. Die riesige Budgetüberschreitung (2 Mio$ statt 1,4 Mio) war aber für die Beschussszene am Boot nicht wirklich gerechtfertigt, wenn man das Ergebnis sieht.
