    Episode 36 One Way Ticket

By funny coincidence, I was thinking about that building in your photo just a few days ago. I was reading about Googie architecture. One of its characteristics is a roof sloping at an upward angle. I immediately thought about that building. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Creek_South_Beach https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Googie_architecture

Oops my apologies. The rooftop shape is what had me mixed up.

    Episode 36 One Way Ticket

What a coincidence, I was just reading an article today covering 80s Miami and it was basically a summary of several Wolfson Archives videos, including one about the plans for the Castaways site: And to be fair to Dadrian, the description under this video says it's Miami Beach, though it's clear from the story it's not, and even pictures online like this call it Miami Beach! I guess as many call anything in the greater Miami area Miami, anything up on Collins avenue can be called Miami Beach! Also incidentally, I was on that pier the other day for a lunch meeting and took a few photos - a very different look!

Fantastic old photos!!! I wonder if the Washington Ave photos would be helpful for finding the Havana teaser street scene in "Heroes of the Revolution"? @Tom

    Episode 36 One Way Ticket

Castaways was not in South Beach, it was up in Sunny Isles Beach. Here it is getting demolished in 1984: https://miami.curbed.com/2014/8/1/10068062/tktktk

    SHOW your MV-inspired style!

Managed to wear my black pair a couple of times already, they look really good but they definetly are harder to find than the tortoise. Yours look really minty i must admit

    Episode 23: Prodigal Son

I spent the day at the Jockey Club at 11111 Biscayne Bvld in North Miami recently featured in “ Prodigal Son” , “ Made for Each Other “ and “ World of Trouble”. Here are the shots from inside 11111 and 11113 Biscayne Bvld and at the water’s edge. It was really interesting to visit - built in 1968 this area was flying high and was one of the go to areas in the 1970s and 1980s when Miami Vice filmed there but today not so much there has been a downward trend here due to Edgewater and Brickell \ Downtown. This has resulted in many more empty units , the marina \ docks closed and lower prices than elsewhere in Miami. But still a lot of fun to visit! From 11111 Biscayne Bvld ( below ) looking south to 11113 Biscayne Bvld and Quayside Towers , 4000 Towerside Terrace ( “One Way Ticket “, “ Cuba Libre “, and “ Like A Hurricane “ filmed there ). from 11111 Biscayne Bvld ( below ) from 11113 Biscayne Bvld looking to 11111 Biscayne Bvld ( below) From “ Made for Each Other “ ( below ) from “ Prodigal Son” ( below ) from “ World of Trouble “ ( below )

Miami Vice TV series on Blu-ray

Yeah it's a shame we can't legally pass around those digital copies of the originally aired MV, given everybody on this forum already paid some money one way or another for this Universal property, and I'd personally pay also for the original TV footage in some official way if that was possible.

Gas Monkey Garage SEMA 2023 Testarossa EV

this car originally was a right-hand drive version, that's likely why they decided to move the steering column and pedals to the middle. Seems to be simpler than a full conversion. @Kalci From a purist POV I understand you could see this as a disfigurement of a classic sports car, however keep in mind these cars - except for the 'hero car', which is towing another TR below - were in a rather dire state, carved out, banged up, been jumped, crashed, had bullet holes, engines and drive train removed etc. One of them even had its steering column and driver seat mounted backwards for fast reverse driving! So these cars were actually wasted already for the filming of an IMO rather dull movie, and whether you dig the result or not, Gas Monkey has brought at least this one back to some state of life. And the metal work they did is quite impressive. Not for the faint of heart:
