Bren10 1,238 Posted February 6, 2019 Report Share A lot of red in that shot. I wonder if it's symbolic of what Tubbs is bringing with him and where he is coming from. He comes out of the red in the night club after Calderone and out of NY with all the earth tones. He is also bringing revenge/murder/anger with him as well as blood ties. Quote Link to comment

Bren10 1,238 Posted February 6, 2019 Report Share This also the most sinister Tubbs would ever look imo. His presentation in the pilot was always interesting to me compared to the rest of the series. Quote Link to comment

Robbie C. 3,195 Posted February 6, 2019 Report Share Tubbs in the pilot is certainly different, and I suspect that has quite a bit to do with Yerkovich's influence. You see flashes of it later, but it really starts to fade after the first season. Quote Link to comment

Bren10 1,238 Posted February 7, 2019 Report Share A lot of symbolism is used in shot compsition, especially in MV where color is so important. Mann was always big on stuff like that too. That's one of the things that sets this show apart from so many. An extreme example of this sort of thing is the final scene of The Sopranos. Quote Link to comment
