Sergeant Robert (Bob) Hoelscher

Sgt. Bob Hoelscher, as a real-life Metro Dade (Miami) cop, handled special clearances needed during the production of Miami Vice (security, street closings and other police liaison). He gave technical advice on gun fighting which added to the gritty realism of the show. Thereafter he appeared in many scenes as the crewcut cop in the background.

Has was a squad leader for the Special Response Team of the Metro-Dade Police Department.
