even though Castillo is the oriental blade. the one that kills you before you relized what happened. the CIA hidden card, the dark ops man.the one that can kill Crockett just using his eyes. you can't compete with Castillo

So true. Lou had a softer touch and he was a likable guy. Castillo was dark, mysterious and disciplined.

They were total opposites!

Nice to see the close relationship/friendship he had with Sonny. And the banter between each other. 
I like that early 80s vibe his character brought in the first few episodes. If G.Sierra had stuck around in Miami for longer, I think he would have made it past S1.

what I like about this character, as other pointed out, it was a more ordinary police lieutenant than Castillo. The latter in comparison was kind of 'over the top'.
