Junk Love?

I was surprised too to find such a shot! It´s in the hospital while Tubbs is questioning Rosella.

I always thought and wondered why In "Junk Love" that Sonny cares for the drug addict and Tubbs is unsympathetic but it's the other way around in "Little Prince" and the situation is similar.

I think it’s because Tubbs saw Jackie as a kid. More conflicting than that, I wonder why Tubbs gave his whole “uptown junkie” soliloquy for Mark in Little Prince, but had no compassion for Rosella. :birdie:

I understand why for Jackie but like you I wondered why he felt nothing for Rosella.

Mark and Rosella more or less had the same problems on the surface.

That's exactly what I was wondering. That Sonny feels sympathy for Rosella may have something to do with the fact that she is a woman? Sonny is always protecting women. Maybe Sonny has a different expectation for a man?

Idk. His long suffering immediately brings to mind Mikey in Showbiz and Judge Ferguson in The Fix in the male department. I guess it also depended on the situation. Crockett basically told Walker he’d kill him if he hurt Annette again in Child’s Play

You've got a point!

Another thought: Sonny's compassion is always specific and personal. With Tubbs, compassion is more general, abstract. He often stays somewhat out of it personally, though there are exceptions (Little Prince, Little Miss Dangerous, Red Tape, to name a few).

Also, from Crockett's and Tubbs' point of view, Mark and Rosella are not that similar.Mark's father, at least on the surface, is a respected businessman, part of Miami's upper class, while Silva is a drug lord who has a lot of money but no social standing.  Besides, most of the time they don't even know that Rosella is Silva's daughter!

Maybe that's important? Crockett has a harder time identifying with someone who is upper class? Which Rosella is not?

Great shot, I love everything about it. This may sound funny, but I feel that it's a shot with a "dark temperature" to it, and I always enjoy those kind of shots.

Yeah, this shot really has a strong and somber feel to it! I hadn't really noticed it that way while watching the episode. But sometimes I take screenshots of an episode while I'm watching it. I can then see it more intesively.  And this time it was really, wow! This image lasts only a moment. I only really discovered it as a screenshot. I see pure horror on Crockett's face. He is truly shocked about Rosella's condition, about what may hiding behind the surface.

Yeah, in isolating the shot, I also feel it makes it easier to feel the mood. For me, both in color and tone, very dark.
