  1. Hello everyone! Starting the process of looking for a Ferrari Daytona replica. It's hard to get a lot of good info on the cars, particularly ones sold by dealers. Any experts (armchair or otherwise) have any clues about this car? I'm kind of sweet on it, but want to some research before spending all the $$. Based on what I"m told on Facebook, this appears to be a Couvarri? I called the dealer and they don't know as the car is on Consignment. Apparently Rowley cars have and ID plate which this does not. So it looks like it's a Corvarri. There are many things I like about this car - I like the interior work that's been done with the real seats, I like the stance and shape, the full trunk and the overall color scheme. Some wiring issues don't bother me. It is missing the front Plexiglass so I'm worried that will be hard to find. I can't find much info about them online, and I"m sure this car hasn't come out of nowhere. Would people consider this a good car? https://www.ebay.com/itm/1975-Other-Makes-Daytona-Convertible-Replica/383503653630

  2. Thankfully I'm retired from Corrections were the virus is spreading among inmates and staff. I have been watch Vice again and just watched "The Maze" this morning. Also watching "Justified" on blueray. Have done some work on my Mercedes SLK320 and practicing some dry firing, draws and mag changes since ammo is expensive even when I can find it. The gym being closed has been a real letdown as I was going to take some swimming lessons in addition to my regular workouts. I have put on 7 pounds and feel like it's been 20. About to run out of projects I had been putting off until the lockdown happened. Take care everybody. I have a feeling this is going to get worse before it gets better.

  3. Here is proof that confirms we have the right place! If we compare the still from the episode with the truck in a corner (pic1 vs. pic2), we can see the big pipe going round the corner in a very specific way -with a double L-shaped bow downwards and a vertical divider behind the white truck. Both is there in the southern corner of my yellow mark! If that´s a coincidence then I am Sonny Crockett himself Bottom line: my best guess is (picture 3): area with the two trucks standing in the episode - my picture number 2 (green circle) cars approaching in the beginning of the scene (red arrow) "Castillo´s" limo parked with false Castillo watching the approaching cars (purple area). This bugged me for some time, as Castillo´s limo seemed to be parked at a 45 degree angle but in fact was parked at a 90 degree angle to the approaching cars but wrong Castillo’s body twisted towards the cars ... And who is not convinced enough, compare pictures 4 and 5. The stairs, chimneys and vertical pipe on right wall (red circles) match as do the metal guiderails on both walls (in green) and the big containers on the left of the alley (in blue on both pictures). what do you think? Dissected enough? CASE SOLVED? Alexander Orr Water Treatment Plant 6825 SW87 Ave HOORAAY to airtommy! He again found a location nearly impossible to find! Luckily big water plants are rarely demolished or massively changed! What makes this location even more interesting now is the hint it gives as to other potentially nearby locations in this episode. e.g. Ross´villa!

  4. Wow that’s the best fitting plant so far! But to be honest at first glance I could not find TWO fitting long parallel walls like in the scene, only one... after some scrutiny of the scene the only potential match for the shooting location I see in picture 2 (yellow circle with arrow indicating the approaching cars in the beginning). The other alley up does not work as the nature of the right wall in the scene does not fit with no rails, tubes and even with the direction I marked I miss some landmarks on the right wall and most importantly the right wall does not seem to be interrupted by another alley like here in this case. But it’s a 90% match I think as they did some tricky editing especially with the angle of the car of the false Castillo before the attack. Your take on it? Alternate spots in mind? PS staggering how close the plant is to the Whatever works/Dutch oven house in Glenvar heights!

  6. How about telling us how Crockett transitioned from the Porsche 911 in the “Forgive Us Our Debts” teaser to the Daytona?

  8. I looked for FIVE years trying to find a good Daytona Spider replica. All I found was junk and finally gave up. All I can say is MAKE SURE you see/drive the car in person first before you make an offer to buy it. You'd be surprised at how poor of condition most of these cars are now in. Here is my search's link:

  11. Very sad to read this - I always really liked Brian Dennehy of course the star of 1987s “Amen...Send Money”. He will be missed.

  12. Really great work both airtommy and Tom - and on the “Jack of all Trades” house too.

  15. Great work on the details, Tom! A couple more features that match: The blue arrow is where I think genuine Castillo drives up at the end:

  17. I know. I haven’t decided how far back in Metro Dade I want to go.

  18. Because of the banyan tree and other heavy vegetation, I think the house is most likely in Coconut Grove or south of there. The shimmering light reflections mean there must be a swimming pool in front of the house. That's fairly unique (they're usually in the back) and will help narrow down the search. Most places won't allow you to build a property wall that tall, I think, but I've seen them in Coconut Grove. The arched openings in the wall are also fairly unique.

  19. Reassignment. If I remember correctly (and it's been a bit since I've seen that episode) he was still in Robbery at the time. The ep was originally titled "The Gang's All Here" and Dick Wolff credited as one of the writers. The connection between Crockett and Frankel wasn't as clear in the original draft, and the scene with the 911 was added in the final rewrite, I think. The guy the Vice wiki credits as the writer doesn't even show up on the draft I have.

  23. Hi Pandora. Welcome back. You’ve been missed. Stay safe and healthy. You can always “visit” with us anytime. We're totally safe.

  24. PANDINA! So go to hear you're ok. When Italy's numbers were on the rise I thought, do we have any members in Italy and you immediately came to mind. I'm in Canada and we seem to have a pretty good handle on the situation but it's still bad. Everything you said echoes the conditions everywhere. Everyday feels like Sunday. Hardly anyone on the streets, highways are empty, stores closed, etc., etc. Anyone coming back to Canada from other countries has to self- isolate at home for 14 days. No shopping on the way home from the airport, no visiting friends. You have to go directly home and stay there! We're not under total lock down yet but if people don't wise up we will be! Again, good to hear you're safe! Just remember, if you get bored you'll always have us!

  25. Pandina - Great to hear from you again. Sounds rough, sorry. Things are a little better here in Florida. NY, California and Washington State are the hot spots but the US is mainly shut down except for grocery stores, pharmacies, gas stations, and medical facilities. Some cities have stay at home orders and curfews like Miami. But we will all bounce back, I'm sure. Please take care of yourself. We can look forward to normal Vice Days again.

  26. Hello all, some of you might remember me from long ago - I missed you. I was watching the news and when I heard about the situation in the USA I thought about giving my advice to those fellow vicers from there - and the others as well. Coming from the country with the highest number of deaths worldwide, even more than in China, what I want to tell you is: please do not underestimate the situation, like we actually did at the beginning. When Covid-19 started on February 21st we had a “lighter” lockdown but even though the WHO and EU praised what we did, it wasn’t enough. The total lockdown from March 8th to April 3rd (might be extended to 15th) will probably be the key to success, but it’s still too early to say. I now live in a ghost town and the eerie silence is interrupted only by the sirens of the ambulances. I work from home and I go out only once a week, queuing up outside a supermarket sometimes also for one hour, until it’s my turn to enter to buy food. We have received help directly from China, they sent over tons of equipment and many doctors. We have set up field hospitals in the hospitals’ parking lots and fair pavilions. Retired doctors have been recalled to help medical staff in their endless shifts. The Army controls the city’s strategic points and Police patrol the streets: you get fined or even reported if you’re outside without a valid reason, i.e. to buy food or medicines. After more than one month we’re still struggling: every day 5000+ people get infected and 700+ people die. It’s not over yet, so stay safe and above all please STAY AT HOME.
