  1. The Mandela Effect is definitely an interesting topic. For those who don’t know, it is basically a false memory. Many people share false memories about movies, tv, music, world events, etc. Are there any false memories you have about Miami Vice? One for me is that I remember distinctly Crockett wearing a seafoam green shirt in his first outfit in “Brother’s Keeper/Pilot”, when in reality, it’s really a baby blue or ice blue. It could just be the tint off on my TV, but that’s all I got. I’m sure there are probably more interesting Mandela Effect memories from the show. Perhaps you may remember a different song from an episode that’s no longer there? I thought this would be a fun topic.

  2. I have a memory of watching the show with my best friend and a scene of Sonny driving in the Testarossa with "Tonight Tonight Tonight" by Genesis playing. When I rewatched the series as an adult I kept waiting for that scene, but it never turned up. My only guess is that I heard that song and just associated it with the show because of Phil Collins voice, or the song playing during whatever scene we were watching was similar. Maybe I dreamed it,,,,who knows. Regardless, that particular song would've been a good choice for the show.

  3. My first memory of MV is “Stone’s War”. I was 6 years old when we watched the original broadcast. The next day I was singing “don’t believe what I see, don’t believe what I see, yeah”. I can still remember this wrong lyric/melody of “When the Rain Comes Down” in my mind today. These tidbits are a big part of the reason the show is still fascinating to me today. It’s a direct link to my childhood mind. If I understand correctly, studies have shown that your memory works by remembering the last time you remembered something, for lack of better words. Also, listening in my car to Jan Hammer songs I’ve ripped from the DVDs makes images in my mind the way I think they look on the show. Sometimes when I watch an episode I’m shocked by how different my mental image of the scene is compared to how it actually looks on film. Great topic @AndrewRemington!

  4. It took me a couple of years to complete the look, I wasn't very good at online shopping by the past I'm pretty proud of this, not gonna lie If you have any questions, let me know (the picture has been photoshopped a little but the colors/clothes/body were not affected)

  6. Good idea. I even looked up north in Lauderdale, El Portal and near Golden Beach but there are no such green areas. If no one has an idea where to look up north of downtown we can split up the southern part. If @airtommyand @C Glideare in too we have at least 4 areas to assign: West of Dixie, Pinecrest, Grove and Coral Gables.I volunteer for any of them. I even used search engines from realtors for identifying all houses built between 84 and 87. But if that house was not sold in last 20 years Like the DUFE home you‘ll not find it there.

  7. I've received confirmation from the current owner familiy that 4994 Hammock Lake Dr is indeed the correct house. They were aware that filming took place there, although before they owned the place. So congrats to @Tom for spotting it between all these trees. I went over that actual street myself on google earth, but didn't make it. One more off the list!

  8. This song came out in July 1989 for “Friday the 13th Part VIII: Jason Takes Manhattan”, but I could definitely see it used in Season 5!

  9. I may have found the gun range. Used by Miami Shores PD at the time. North side of NW 103rd Street between the canal on the west side and NW 17th Avenue on the east.

  10. Lol, yes I am a member but don’t check in often enough! I think you may have posted this song a couple weeks ago, but I remixed it and reposted it (I am a perfectionist with music and often see flaws in my own work). Indeed, I wish this song could have been used in Miami Vice! I am inspired by Jan Hammer, as well as Prince, Michael Jackson, INXS, The Fixx, The Cars, The Reds, Billy Idol, Corey Hart, Duran Duran, Wang Chung and so many more. I aim for new wave with a little R&B flavor. I especially try to get a sound authentic to 1982-1986 or so.

  11. I just watched another well done Police Story episode written by Michael Mann. It’s called “Trial Board” from 1977 and it’s about racism in the vice squad! Apparently it’s based on a real-life event that happened to the series creator Joseph Wambaugh in 1969. Lots of good actors like Joe Santos, Dana Elcar, Hal Williams, Scott Hylands, and Casey Kasem in a non-cameo role.
