Last week's score: There was an iconic 80's song playing in the store when I bought the blazer, sadly I forgot which one though. Now I'm all set for proper "Sons and Lovers" attire

It's such a great piece of music. When I hear it, I'm constantly reminded of Castillo's mindset, which he expresses while the piece is being played in "Golden Triangle": "I have a thousand reasons to play "OK Corral" with Lao Li and Menton, but I'm a policeman. I enforce the law. Equally applied. No special cases. Maybe it sounds naive, but it's all I've got. It's what I believe in...and it's who I am." For me, the piece evokes a wonderful sense of mystery and it accents Lieutenant Castillo perfectly.

I think I called him Sonny Soprano on FB.

In fact it was her with that statement who made me fully focus my search efforts on KB. Gina has always been my secret angel so it just had to be true I first discovered it on the 1986 aerial btw. I was so absorbed for a few days by searching this house that I missed on congratulating you for finding Rita's house. Awesome job as well again, and again it's in an area that I also did scan heavily, however while I was looking for the Cook house, so my mind wasn't set on this.

It's damn close to what I've sketched! And the aerial from 1986 looks even closer. Maybe the original house was blown away by Andrew and the rebuilt it with a similar layout? Hell even the slabs and the coral walls match

Just rewatched this. Even better than I remember it from the first viewing. John Glover is great in this. Reminds me a bit of Bruce McGill/Hank Weldon in "Out Where the buses don't run", though not as manic (or crazy). Izzy is finally funny again too. I know there are those that probably don't like the latter half of season 3 for a myriad of reasons, but so far I've enjoyed pretty much every episode after Diehl's departure (sad as it was). Like some of the previous episodes of S3, I'm really starting to feel like I'm watching classic Vice again thanks to the tone of the show, the cinematography, lighting, Don's hair getting longer and the white jackets coming back, and ESPECIALLY the music. I love the music in this episode (and the previous ones like "Duty and Honor") when Jan has written new pieces for the show. Granted, I hate that a lot of cues from previous episodes from the earlier seasons get re0used a lot as well. Hearing either Crockett's or Castillo's theme almost whenever doesn't really incite much if there' little to no context to go with it. A shame that for whatever reason, Jan couldn't expand more. I really like the darker direction the music has gone with the low-bass synths and the electric guitars. We get a great boat chase here as well, though some shots are obviously sped up, lol. Definitely some noticeable hard cuts and certain shots that are so short it can make your head spin. Like a previous episode (I've already forgotten which), there's an reverse shot where an actor reacts, cutaway, then back to their previous reaction, but played backwards. It's at the end when Glover walks into frame from the left (blue lighting), he looks around a bit. After a few other shots, we see the same shot, with him backing out of frame. Chalk that one up for the bloopers list. I think there was a hard cut in the music during the boat chase too. I'd say my only nitpick is that they should've given Sweitek more time to grieve the loss of his partner/best friend. It's almost like Zito was never even there. The guy is just as funny/sarcastic as always. And it was only about 4 episodes ago. Overall series-wise, I honestly gotta give this episode 8/10, but for season 3 in particular, it's a perfect 10. If I had to rank the season 3 episodes so far (I've got about 6 to go), this might make my top 5.

Only 1,200 for this one. Definitely has that late night drive feel to it.

Definitely a great episode! One of the best in the series, and what a way to open up the second season! I love most things New York, especially films and television series that are filmed there, I have a strong affinity for the city, and seeing Crockett and Tubbs run amok in NY makes for great viewing. This episode also features arguably my favourite sequence in the whole series... Crockett packing up to return to Miami and making his way to the airport while the suspense starts to linger with Tubbs... will he or won't he return to Miami (of course we knew that he would, it's hard to have a new season minus one of the main characters, ha ha), but that brief suspense is subtly intense, and then to see Tubbs running through the airport to catch the plane, it makes for a powerful moment, powerful and happy, topped off by Crockett greeting Tubbs at the counter. We know then that these two guys have become real friends and real partners, and value each other and have each other's backs. And that sequence being soundtracked by Phil Collins' 'Take Me Home' only makes it's all the more brilliant. And of course once Crockett and Tubbs do get back to Miami, it's great to see that Gina has recovered too. One thing too about this episode is that it reinforces the fact that Sonny has a terrible judgement when it comes women for the most part. Not a fan of Margaret's character, but she is there to serve her purpose. And speaking of female guest stars, one name... Pam Grier brilliant as always, and badass when she goes into "Foxy Brown mode" at the meet with the Revillas where she basically saves the day. And another much deserved mention goes to Sonny walking the NY streets at night accompanied by Glenn Frey's 'You Belong to the City'. That right there is ultra cool, and that whole scene could basically define the 80s as a whole, magnificent. Overall I found the episode to be well written, and the plot is more than worthy of any feature film. The only scene that could be seen as being a little over the top is Sonny shooting down the helicopter, ha ha, but it is television, so a suspension of disbelief is naturally needed, and hey, if anyone is going to shoot down a helicopter, then you can best believe that it's gonna be James "Sonny" Crockett I rate this episode a solid 9.5/10

Hey PM, I'm sorta in the same boat as you. I was always a loner as a kid, only had a few close friends, and in the time since moving to Florida, I haven't really gotten out to enjoy it and try to meet people either. I keep blaming it on bad work hours (though THANKFULLY that may be about to change) but lately I keep unfortunately letting the "Us vs. Them mentality" that seems to have taken over this country just completely sour my feelings towards going out and socializing (for the most part). I know it's certainly soured my thoughts about trying to find a GF. And being 35, it's even tougher than 22, lol. I suggest finding social groups with common interests, whatever you're into. Before moving down here I looked up movie theaters that play old movies (My love of all things 80's goes way further than just Miami Vice, hehe). At the same time, sometimes you just gotta break outta your comfort zone and go places and do things that you don't think you'll enjoy. Who knows, you may find yourself getting into things you never thought that you would. I also suggest possibly talking with someone over your woes about your self worth. If your finances cover it, therapy is always an option. People told me for years to go for it, and I finally did last year. It was only a handful of sessions, but it definitely helped me in the long run. No it's not this magical thing where a person with qualifications can 'hypnotize' you to think better, but when you get stuff off your chest face to face (instead of on a message board) it definitely helps you feel like you can move on to the next step. Being that my therapist was a short man like myself, he knew exactly where I was coming from about all my issues with my height. Little things that made me angry don't anymore, and I've *pretty much* quit smoking and don't drink nearly as much as I used to. These are things that come into play when you realize that the world isn't so bad if you change your perception of things. I used to think similar to you when I was in my early 20's (I laugh about my old mindset now in hindsight), but if there's one thing I can offer about getting older is, as long as you acknowledge your strengths and not focus on your negatives, you'll see people gravitate towards you more. Another perspective would be to look at life from a different angle regarding self worth. I'm no Buddhist or anything but, everyone alive or dead has always had doubts about their self worth, regardless of how 'successful' they are/were. The real root of the issue is thinking that you have standards to live up to. Now, without saying "just tell everyone you disagree with to shove off" (as that's going too far in the other direction), just tell yourself that it's not your responsibility to live up to everyone's expectations. As ol' honest Abe once said "You can please some people all the time. You can please all people some of the time. But you cannot please all the people all the time". Base your self-worth on focusing on seeing life positively from the sincerity of yourself (being good, loyal, honest, etc..) and not off the figurative 'checklist' that you've made for yourself, which in some ways is based off a figurative checklist that either other people have made for you, or that you think people have made for you. Forget about the whole idea of money bringing happiness (as this country, and possibly humans in general) as I think having too much is more trouble than its worth. I personally think more money equals more responsibilities AND more chances to not live up to people's expectations. Not to mention people trying to take advantage of you (though that's a subject for another time). Oh and don't fret about still living with your Mom. Millenials still living with their parents up into their 30's has slowly become the norm. Heck, I've read several articles about 20-somethings who do well living in NYC....mostly due to help from their parents (phone bill, medical insurance, etc...). So even the ones who are supposedly 'living it up' (constant instagram and FB photos of them partying in some fancy place) are getting help from their parents too. I'm actually grateful that I lived with parents until I was 30 because I love them so much. Part of the reason I moved to southern Florida was to be closer to them. Back to relationships. Me personally, I've heard way too many horror stories from people who's lives and relationships went really sour due to things like getting married and having kids with a partner they didn't love just to live up to their parents expectations (especially outside the USA). I feel very sorry for those people and am grateful that I've never been put in that situation, and gives me solace in my own solidarity. Not sure if that mindset will encourage you, as you've said you do want to have a family someday. With that being said, I unfortunately can't give you much advice in the dating scene, as it's completely different now than it was before social media, and since most people my age are already in relationships, I don't get out much where I can 'play the fields' so to speak. I figure my best bet now is to just make friends with people my age that may know others who are single. If anything, I'd say go out and do things and meet people without any preconceived notions of trying to find a partner, and eventually you'll meet people who know more people and it'll happen organically, and then there won't be any mental 'pressure' to find it. But furthermore, don't worry about people being in relationships are better off than you. If anything, a lot of people are only in relationships due to social stigma and are unhappy with unfulfilled relationships. To me, being single is a better alternative because that's the mindset I've given myself. TL:DR Your life is only worth what you think it's worth. Not what others think it is. Nothing in this world sets a template (money, relationships, social status, etc..). Peer pressure is not only overrated, PEER PRESSURE DOES NOT EXIST.
