  1. Damn..No wonder Crockett was pissed at those IA guys. He probably talked to them a dozen times that month.

  2. As I recall reading, the IA interrogation of Trudy is standard police procedure, whenever a cop has used their gun it has to be investigated. And this was just MV trying to show an example of that in one episode. Considering how many times they fired a gun it would be really boring showing that every time.

  3. Can anyone name this movie? Interesting shot.

  4. Can I cheat and say the last half of S1 and the first half of S2 is the best? Almost everything from Milk Run to Little Miss Dangerous is peak Vice.

  5. If Missing Hours had been my first episode to watch I probably wouldn't be on this site right now! Glad you were brave enough to continue the series after that!

  8. I really, really like the first two seasons, and the third season, while not as outstanding as the previous two, was still pretty solid in my book. Not a huge fan of the fourth and fifth season even though there were some very interesting episodes here and there. Some episodes might be bad by Miami Vice-standards, but can still be considered good television. If I had to choose a favorite season, it probably would be the first one, though I might pick the second one depending on my mood.

  9. I love the little wisecracks Sonny does. From “Milk Run”: Rico: “Maybe he’s going to work on his tan.” Sonny: “Yeah, I think he’s gonna get BURNED.” From “Baseballs of Death” when they find Shane DuBois dead. Sonny: “I think he got more than a haircut.”

  11. I completely agree with you! I felt like it was exaggerated to an extend. But I would have liked to see the actor return in some other role.

  12. Interesting, thanks for sharing! But still, that Gallo guy was really irritating!

  13. S3!!!!! White Glow era, superb neon scenes, blueish tones, dark scenes, consistent quality, great stories, the two Ferraris, a lot of Peter Gabriel's "So" album. I do know most will disagree!

  14. Technically he was correct to begin with. Part 1 one is actually “Score”, and part 2 is Golden Triangle (on the original broadcasts).

  15. Stranger Than Paradise! Starring Eszter Balint (Dorothy Bain from MV episode “Buddies”). Believe it or not, I saw this before I saw a single episode of Miami Vice. Correct! Well done, AndrewRemington!

  16. Stranger Than Paradise! Starring Eszter Balint (Dorothy Bain from MV episode “Buddies”). Believe it or not, I saw this before I saw a single episode of Miami Vice. Very true. I love the first one best, but the makeup and atmosphere in Freddy’s Revenge is very spooky. That bus scene at the beginning is one of the most terrifying nightmares.

  17. The second film isn't as good as the original but what it does do better is has a creepier atmosphere and Freddy's makeup/mask is scarier and he is much more sinister.

  18. I love this song. It has such a hypnotic bass line. Interesting to have that acoustic guitar in the mix. I’m not sure if they played this “Glitter Mix” or the standard version on “Death and the Lady”, but this song was also used in the great Michael J. Fox film “Bright Lights, Big City”.

  20. Today I have a special item for location proof! I found a 1989 picture of the exact 6th floor Park Central hallway of that scene, where we see the original color of the doors, the carpet, etc. My picture is taken behind Sandy Dyson, showing her perspective before getting killed in room 607 (608 is the door number behind her on the room right next to it). I know that the picture is very grainy but I had to cut it out of an old 1989 German TV report (old VHS video?) about South Beach Art Deco that included many scenes from the Park Central lobby and also the 6th floor and one of the corner rooms (in one of them they apparently filmed Sandy Dyson´s room). ENJOY! P.S. great source for Art Deco research in Miami Beach is here: https://miamibeachvisualmemoirs.com/

  21. following your rationale of this kind of elaborate redressing/decoration efforts not making sense for a 10 second scene I'm starting to believe that this actually was a police or government storage location. There is in fact police material in these storage compartments if I'm not mistaken, and I doubt they would have hauled all this to a public warehouse whatsoever just for this, let alone obtaining all the kind of stuff I'm pointing out below just for this purpose and only to go unnoticed by most viewers: the white/red thing behind the building could be a fire truck, although they seem to be red in Miami Dade:

  22. LOL thanks! You’re right that location sleuthing takes a lot of time but these interior pics I found in 5 minutes by google search after not finding anything the day before. They are on yelp (customers have uploaded them I assume). I just googled for "1221 Brickell+interior" and on the first google picture page you see one of the three pictures with this link: https://www.yelp.com/biz/popular-bank-miami-5. No mystery here, except you should be aware of how the google algorithm works. In essence, it is possible that only small changes in search terms (other keywords or even the order of words) might influence the outcome. When I tried the day before with "1221 Brickell+office" I only got garden variety office pics from the building. I also found out that cross referencing in google picture search yields amazing results (you click on a picture in google and from there you find another that is related to it but sometimes not shown on the first google page). Good question what I am gonna do if all locations are found. Only the trickiest ones will be left by nature so I doubt we will find all of them. Current count is 24 left (if nobody finds other unknown locations missing in our list). This IS my profession. Kinda. I work in analytics. I am not a data scientist but I know how our specialists work and I like to work systematically. That helps enormously with location hunting and trains my brain for work related matters.

  23. Found a nice pic of the restaurant location with Jack and Grubbs which is now the spa area (see subtitle of pic) of the Mayfair.

  24. (LAST) UNKNOWN LOCATION: POLICE STORAGE ROOM There is not any single scene filmed outside of downtown in this episode, thus I conclude this police storage (if it is/was in reality) must be in downtown too. No way they travelled somewhere else for a scene that lasts less than 10 seconds. On the other hand, we have the consulate scene in Rock and a hard place where they travelled 5 miles for nothing (no show of the building in the background). My conclusion of the picture is: this ain´t a real police storage as all the weapons stolen in the scene look artificially placed in front of the camera (all other items on the shelves look like a garden variety storage of any kind). But there are lots of decoration efforts shown here that make this case mysterious: are these all fake police signs, fake police cars (there was no South Beach police), fake officers?. Too much effort for 10 seconds scene?! Biggest clues: the intended base of the building, the windows, the height, the diagonal parking. Also pay attention to the green background of the building on the other side. There seems to be a unique building with red pattern. At first, I thought this is a medivac car, but it seems to be not (too high, not moving). P.S. I´ve checked the surrounding of all known locations of this ep carefully, but nothing.

  26. I have the privilege of knowing her and she told me about the trip to Miami a few years ago. After watching LMD originally I was instantly a fan, looked her up and discovered she was still singing, attended several of her concerts etc. She was friendly and nice enough to talk to me, and after communicating for a few years I believe I can call her a friend. Great personality, could have been a huge star bigger than a Julia Roberts type with the right breaks.

  27. They're 5024, I have a 5022 too but the nose bridge on them is too narrow for me. The 5024 is 2mm‘s wider overall by the way, not just on the nose. got them off ebay for 269 $, there’s another NOS 5024 pair currently available from the same seller in Germany. People who ask a thousand bucks for this are nuts. I would only pay that much if DJ drives up my alley himself in a McBurnie, dressed in a white linen suit and hands them over to me personally.

  28. Chris Elliot is to be loathed. I’m not being negative. I just mean I think it’s his niche in entertainment. He was perfectly cast in Everybody Loves Raymond.

  30. Just rewatched this and still like it quite a bit. Parts of the story might be weak, but it highlights how the Vice squad can come together for one of their own. OB did a fantastic job showing Trudy's confusion after her first shooting and trying to reconcile her job and her desire for a personal life outside of it. I really liked Castillo, too. His concern for his people is real, and comes across beautifully here. Adonis was the perfect punk trying to move up in the trade. And it's always fun watching Crockett go head-to-head with IAB.
