Some of my music has been posted in the thread “Songs that should’ve been played on VICE”. I hope it’s not too much of a shameless promotion to start my own thread, but I think most of us on here love 80’s music. I try to make music that sounds very authentically 80’s, even down to the cover artwork. I have a lot of influences, but I still think my music is very original and true to myself. I play everything recorded, synthesizers, guitar, bass guitar, drum machine and vocals. One of the songs “I Wanna Be Your Dog” is a cover, but the others are written by me. I would appreciate any feedback, and invite any comments or subscribes on YouTube! Thanks!2 points

"Last Night" sounds like a "Fashion" song. The band who had songs in Evan and The Prodigal Son. You have a great voice.1 point

I agree! I’ve always enjoyed this episode. It highlights Miami’s unique culture very well. From central Florida north, the state is regionally Southern, but Miami is its own world. Kind of like New Orleans or Montreal, just different than what’s around them. I remember watching it when it aired originally while I was in high school. It was the first I had heard of jai alai and the Basque community. It was so unique. I also thought it seemed a little ripe for fixing by the Trafficante family? That could have been a cool Vice story too. Of course Miami also has parimutuel betting on dog racing too, so....1 point

I find that when looking on eBay it helps to search using European sizing i.e. “Armani 56 jacket” as quite often people list the size they read on the label without realising that this doesn’t really translate in the UK. I’ve picked up quite a few bargains that way.1 point

I noticed when Mikey says "This is the first form of social expression that won't land yourself in the joint", there was a dub. Watch his mouth closely. He says "Land your ass in the joint". Guess that wouldn't fly on network tv back then lol.1 point

Yes. So glad to see him come out the hero of that movie. Nice of all those stupid humans to sacrifice themselves for his survival.1 point

This one is a little more obscure, maybe, but a true classic from the 80’s nonetheless. ”...there was this guy once, you see this scar right here....” Name the classic 80’s movie. Great idea for a trivia game, love it team!1 point

It was also repeated by him in the Hannibal tv series when he was excellent beyond all belief. All great.1 point

Very cool video and song, however I can’t hear any of Jan’s synth. Not sure if there is either no synth or it’s just really buried in the mix!1 point

I love this song. It has such a hypnotic bass line. Interesting to have that acoustic guitar in the mix. I’m not sure if they played this “Glitter Mix” or the standard version on “Death and the Lady”, but this song was also used in the great Michael J. Fox film “Bright Lights, Big City”.1 point

I think MV ended at the perfect time, with the 80s After season 3, I really didn't like the stories, the music and the clothes, it was just not the same in terms of style and colors and everything Michael Mann had in mind in the beginning1 point

I have distinct, separate (positive) affections for the first four seasons.1 point

The reason I keep coming back to this episode is because of the intro, I love the song Eminence Front by The Who, I think I can consider that one of my favourite songs of all time, it's brilliant and it works perfectly with Vice. 7/10.1 point
