  2. I didn’t recall that from Ferris but the back of the other guys head looks like the other dude, the idiot Captain Kirk replacement that leaves space dock without a tractor beam!

  3. There were lots of fussy things at the time about advertising alcohol on TV, so that might play into it as well.

  4. I watched my first 2020 film recently: “Invisible Man”. It was very interesting and thrilling, especially because I didn’t watch the trailer first. I’m glad I didn’t. Some trailers really blow a lot of surprises for you. I watched the trailer afterwards and it revealed a lot. I like to go into a movie blind. It’s a lot more exciting that way. I’d probably give it a 7/10. I’d watch it again. I also rewatched “The Devil’s Advocate” last night. Great film, but I still feel iffy about the ending. It’s a good ending, but kind of irritating... I don’t want to spoil it for anyone (even though it’s a 23 year old film). The movie is definitely worth the watch just for Al Pacino’s performance! I’d give it an 8/10.

  6. Imagine that! It would be wonderful... If I had to choose an ep to be directed by Lynch, I would never be able to decide which one: "Mirror Image" or "Shadow in the Dark".

  7. I love that movie too! It creates such a fantastic mood! It's hard to believe most of it was shot in St. Louis. They have some extra footage on YouTube that shows the bank robbery (the crime that put Snake into the prison) - must see for true fanatics.

  12. At first I was thinking "Blade Runner" but it looks like the top of the world trade center so I'll hazard a guess and say the 1976 version of "King Kong"?

  13. Talk Radio is a powerfully written and acted film. The whole cast is great and it's highly recommended if you haven't seen it. It's a criminally underrated film. Great intro to it which I play before watching the film: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AV23B-K7A4o&t=2s Oliver is my favourite director and I think he's the greatest director ever. I know he's controversial but he's a brilliantly talented filmmaker and he has made masterpieces and some of the greatest films ever. My favourites of his are JFK, Nixon, Salvador, Talk Radio and Wall Street. All are phenomenal films.

  14. Yes, it is great! It’s tied with “Wall Street” for my favorite Oliver Stone film. Eric Bogosian is great in it. He also co-wrote the play it was based on and co-wrote the screenplay with Stone.

  15. Wow. I definitely do want to see it. Sadly, it’s not streaming anywhere in the US and all the DVDs and BluRays I can find are imports (I don’t think my player is compatible). It looks like a used US dvd costs $50.

  17. Okay I gotcha now. You’re right: we do immediately think of exotic sports cars when the word “Lamborghini” is involved, but Cliff’s SUV is, indeed, a Lamborghini LM002.

  18. His car does not look like a Lamborghini but has in big letters „Lamborghini“ written on the car’s side with only the first four letters visible in most shots. That is rather unusual and a useless clue. That is what I meant. (I did not expect „Arthur J Lamb Road inspector“ or „Crandon Park Ranger“ on it anyway but it would have been more useful than this advertising )

  19. UNKNOWN LOCATION: DINNER BOYLE-MATSON Some office scenes with Boyle and Matson were filmed at the Greenberg Taurig Building 1221 Brickell (clear similarities) but this scene was not. It could be that they filmed that in the same unknown location as Enriquez home. I suspected anyway that Enriquez home is no house, but rather an exclusive penthouse apartment with natural light from above in a bigger building. This screenshot above shows that the dinner scene was shot on a penthouse roof-top that cannot be the Greenberg Taurig as there is not stone inner and outer wall there. And the windows have some similarities style wise with the Enriquez loft. Good thing is though that we now have a clear clue to go for: that trapezoid white structure behind the window is on a roof and could be visible from above. And, due to the stone wall clue, we can exclude all the highrises near 1221 Brickell as these are glass and concrete/steel buildings without any kind of stone walls. My best guess is: we´ll find that location anywhere between Brickell and the Devon Road boat house or near there.

  20. Talk Radio is a fantastic film. One of Oliver Stone's best and most underrated. Brilliant performance by Eric Bogosian. Plus he was on Miami Vice in Milk Run.

  21. I'll just clarify again that Black Jack isn't a made-up term...it was the phrase used to order "black label" Jack Daniel's as opposed to the lower-proof green label version that was much more common in the 1980s than it is now. At the time in the US it was the same thing as ordering Johnny Walker black (for black label) as opposed to Johnny Walker red (for red label).

  23. Sonny slapping Glantz the way he did makes total sense: he was pimp-slapping Glantz the way a pimp slaps around a whore who misbehaves. He was sending the man a very clear message in a language he figured the guy would understand. Usually the first time it's just a slapping...after that it gets worse. VERY much worse.

  27. I'm about 5-6 episodes into season 4 (and my 2nd viewing of the entire series) and figured I'd chime in here. This, and "Death and the Lady" are 2 really well made episodes and so overall so far, I'm beginning to feel that I've been too harsh on season 4 over the years (granted, I still haven't rewatched 'missing hours' yet, lol). I think the overall issues with season 4 that many of us have are as follows: - Little to no action (5-6 episodes in and I think I've heard 3 gunshots, not one fight, nor a single car chase) - less 'cinematic' shots that gave the first 2 seasons (and part of season 3) that "film noir" vibe. After seasons 1&2, Miami no longer feels like a 'character' in its own show - tonally it's all over the place - yet another 'new look' for almost all the characters (Don's mullet, PMT's beard, Brown's longer hair, Saundra's semi-rockstar look) - more parts from actors that played different characters in earlier episodes causes a loss of overall continuity

  28. (LAST) UNKNOWN LOCATION: ENRIQUEZ HOUSE Extremely hard to find, as there is no exterior shot (the one used is from 1727 W27 Street, Sunset Island which has NOT the interior shown), but only lots of fast edits during the party with Robert Plant song and a short scene where Gina gets out of the jacuzzi. Both involve close-ups only. I guess the best (and only?) chance to find it is the uniquely shaped interior jacuzzi which is NOT in a bathroom, but laid low in the marble floor of villa with an atrium (there seems to be overhead natural light above the jacuzzi and rooms to both sides of the atrium). I attach a few pics with some unique features (uniquely shaped wall lightning, doors, floor pattern) shown in order to countercheck in case some of you stumble across a similarly looking indoor jacuzzi. P.S. I´ve already checked the houses near AJs home at 20251 NE 25 Ave (AJ confirmed that there was no interior filming at his parents´house, but reported that PMT seemed to know their neighbors) and have searched some realtor pics and google with jacuzzi related keywords already, but no find yet.

  32. It's such a great piece of music. When I hear it, I'm constantly reminded of Castillo's mindset, which he expresses while the piece is being played in "Golden Triangle": "I have a thousand reasons to play "OK Corral" with Lao Li and Menton, but I'm a policeman. I enforce the law. Equally applied. No special cases. Maybe it sounds naive, but it's all I've got. It's what I believe in...and it's who I am." For me, the piece evokes a wonderful sense of mystery and it accents Lieutenant Castillo perfectly.
