I have watched The Substitute(1996) starring Tom Berenger. It takes place in Miami and IMO very underrated movie in its own genre. I am actually quite surprised I never came across this movie in the past 10-20years. Great Score from Gary Chang and good supporting cast.

The 2nd pair isn't much different from the first. Same silhouette but with a different sole and perforated on the upper. Should have both pair in a couple of weeks.

Saw this video many years ago and was and still am totally impressed with this guy’s skills.

Another tower announced for Miami, and in total there are some 40 in the making now/soon. I'll highlight just the following 5 clustered closely together in what I call central Brickell. I really like that area as it slowly quiets down moving from the bustling north with its Mary Brickell Village to the serene South Miami Ave with single family homes and quite enjoyable Brickell Ave below SE 15th St. The new news is Santander tower, replacing their existing shorter older building on the corner of Brickell Ave and SE 14th St. Another new news is that something that has been in the works for few years now as 1 Southside Park (first image below) just got a new partner and branding (and renders, second image below) - the Mercedes-Benz tower. Of course Miami just finished Aston Martin Residences, and Sunny Isles has the Porsche Design Tower and just broke ground on Bentley Residencies. Luxury car brands love Miami! Right across from Santander on Brickell Ave there will be Residences at 1428. The big empty pit/field next to the Metromover line will finally become something - Cipriani Residences (the tallest one in the image), a partnership with the eponymous Italian restaurant brand. And another luxury brand collab - Ora by Casa Tua will somehow manage to perch behind 1200 Brickell Ave (notable in MV pilot opening montage and in True Lies filming, see this older post). Some have mixed feelings about all this development, but one has to admit these designs are pretty good compared to some more generic stuff that's been built over the last 10 years, like the tallest Panorama tower. The key of course is to have enough infrastructure/amenities like schools and parks so all these thousands of new residents can actually enjoy living in this Manhattan of the south.

I quite enjoyed The Substitute, but I'm also a major Tom Bringer fan. The later ones weren't quite as good, though.

Since everyone loves to speculate, and we haven't talked about hardware lately, what guns do you think could or should have appeared on Miami Vice? We all know Michael Mann has a 'thing' for the latest and greatest (which is why the Glock appeared on Vice, and maybe why the AutoMag had a cameo as well), but he didn't get everything. I know personally I wouldn't have minded seeing a Styer GB raise its head (granted it was first designed in the late 1960s, but it made a bit of a comeback in 1980 or so as the GB80 and has both a unique look and operating system). We see a number of Detonics pistols throughout the series, but I was always surprised something from Safari Arms never showed up. They're pretty striking pistols. I've got one made by the original company and one made by Olympic after they bought them out. I have to say the finish on both is really good, but the original MS Safari Arms (the top one) is superior in a number of ways.

I rented it back-when, when it came out on video. So, I’ve seen it once. But, from what I remember, it was really good!

I don't believe they're shown on IMFDB at all. But yeah...it is missing the CZ75. Given the number of Russians and such that wandered by, I was also surprised we never saw a Makarov or even a Tokarev. No AKs, and even though the Galil shows up more than once we never see an FN-FAL, which to me is a pretty sleek rifle.

It's good to finally meet some fellow Vice fans! Ive been watching since last year, and I was curious if I could find anybody else who loves this show as much as I do... and I did!

Thank you all. I will definitely continue the "work". When I first started I could only dream of someday getting thru the first two seasons. I became quicker and more efficient as did the technology I have available now so I have no doubt that someday the entire series will be completed on the site. It would not be near as much fun if I did not have great people with whom I could share it. Thanks to all of you. It is amazing how Miami Vice has changed my life, from career choices to having moved to South Florida. Now with the location site it has pushed me to learn way more about computers and building websites than I ever would have not to mention that I feel that I know Miami 1000 times better than I ever would have without Vice. Thanks Miami Vice.
